HW / Unit 4

HW #4.1
Use the following order of steps to get a correctly written equation. You do not
need to write the steps out separately. (1) Write the correct formulas for the
reactants. (2) Classify the type of reaction as synthesis (S), decomposition (D),
single replacement (SR), double replacement (DR), or combustion (C). (3)
Predict and write the correct formulas for the products. (4) Include the physical
state of each substance. (5) Balance the equation.

1. a. Solutions of potassium chloride and silver nitrate are mixed.

b. Solid aluminum hydroxide is reacted with a solution of sodium nitrate.
c. Iron metal is reacted with a solution of copper (II) sulfate. Use iron (II).
d. Aluminum metal is reacted with a solution of copper (II) chloride.
e. Sodium chlorate crystals are heated and decomposed.
