ID/IQ 101
What is an Indefinite Quantity/Indefinite Delivery (ID/IQ) contract?
• A flexible contract with stated limits and ordering terms/time periods
• Provides for an indefinite quantity of supplies or services furnished on an indefinite
delivery schedule
• Limits stated in terms of number of units or dollars
When ID/IQ contracts are used
• The requirement for supplies and/or services is recurring, but the exact times and/or
exact quantities of future deliveries are not known at the time of contract award
How an ID/IQ contract helps our Agility
• Provides range pricing across multiple years to support any customer funding that
becomes available; significantly reduces time to award
– We need similar agreements in terms of pricing with our supply base for the life of the
ID/IQ and well as an extended ordering period (cumulative ordering period)
• Use the pre-negotiated contract terms and conditions to accelerate award timelines
