Naalala ko noong grade one to three ako, may teacher ako sa languages si Ms.

Dasigan. Very supportive siya sa akin. Every vacation binibigyan nya ako ng drawing
and coloring materials para maenhance ko pa ang talent ko sa drawing. Single sya at
tinuring nya ako na parang sariling anak. Nakalulungkot lang na wala na siya ngayon
pero dahil sa mga alaala ko sa kanya natutunan ko na ang pagiging guro ay pagiging
magulang din hindi lang sa pangalan kundi sa gawa. Natutunan ko na mahalin din ang
mga magiging estudyante ko at suportahan sila sa kanilang mga kakayahan. Natutunan
ko na hindi natatapos sa loob ng classroom ang kalinga ng isang guro. At gaya ng tatak
na iniwan nya sa akin, ako rin balang araw ay makapag iwan din ng magandang tatak
sa mga magiging "anak" ko sa paaralan.
Napili kong maging guro dahil kung paanong nainspire ako sa mga naging guro ko, at
sa mga magagandang tatak na naibigay nila sa aking pagkatao at alaala, naniniwala rin
ako na I can touch the lives of my future students too. Bata pa lang ako, hanga na ako
sa mga teachers sa passion at commitment nila... sa murang edad napamahal na ako
sa teaching .. naexperience ko ring maging student teacher at tutor sa mga bata and it
was a happy experience. I feel I find happiness in teaching and making a difference by
molding minds and hearts.

The art of teaching is from the heart of the teacher.

As a 21st Century Teacher, a lot of modifications, development and standardization has


been made in the Philippine set-up of education system and that requires a pure soul to
shoulder, accept and implement in the most drastic way it requires among Filipino
teachers.

In the most convenient way of executing implementation on the curriculum, modern


technology plays a very important role.
However empirical the essence of being "techy" in the global standard of being a
teacher to 21st century learners, the heart of a teacher is the vital part of the whole
teaching and learning process.

As a language communication subject teacher, teaching grammar and literature,


basically the deductive approach applies very effectively.
On the other hand, affective method of teaching covers a wide range of strategies to
deliver the lesson and make students understand that language (grammar structure and
literature) is integral.
Furthermore, integral approach is the new face of teaching language communication
subject. How ever it is effective in many ways to get best result in grammar, still the
heart of the teacher does the most part of it.
To some extent, 21st century learners must learn to pause for a while and savor the
meaning of making time to understand the world and their relevance to their existence.
Letting the students watch investigative documentaries and asked their reflections about
it after sometime gives the teacher the opportunity to get into the heart of the child and
let them enter the door of wisdom.
To keep the connection between the students and their world is the most important role
of the teacher to make learning very essential to everyone.
And personal experience....i tell personal stories to students with relevance to the
lesson. Or shall i say most of the time students just want to listen with your stories than
making you believe that they are studying what you are trying to teach them since
practicality is their way of life nowadays and having a very good academoc performance
is not the baseline of getting a high compensated job.
