The thesis aims to study supply chain management practices in construction companies in the NCR region of India. It will examine the adoption of SCM through literature review and views from construction firms. The research seeks to explore problems affecting SCM processes in the construction industry, specifically for companies in NCR. The objectives are to analyze different SCM practices, factors influencing SCM, barriers to implementing SCM, and identifying issues with material transport and costs. The hypotheses are that a SCM approach will impact construction companies and improve cost effectiveness and timeliness. Both surveys and case studies will be used for data collection.

The thesis is aimed to focus towards the adoption and implementation of supply chain management (SCM) in Construction Industries in NCR region. The findings will be based on literature review and views of construction companies based in NCR. The research focuses to explore and investigate different problems which might affect the supply chain management (SCM) process in the built environment industry, in particular, the construction companies in the NCR. Objectives: The main objectives of the study are To study the different types of supply chain management practices on the construction sites. To study the different factors effecting supply chain management in construction companies. To find out the barriers in implementing SCM in construction industry. To identify the problems while transferring the materials from place of origin to place of usage. To find out the way of cost reduction of materials. Research Hypothesis: A supply chain management approach to project management will affect the construction companies. A SCM approach to project management will improve the cost effectiveness and timeliness
Methodology: Both questionnaire survey and case study will be used to get the desired data.
