Individual Lay Dominicans should choose voluntary works of penance. Liturgy and Prayers. To live in charity becomes the Lay Dominican’ absolute ty especialy in iturgieal prayer in union with all ofthe Dominican Family as ‘well s by private prayer, meditation and praying the Rosary. In charity dwells the essence of spiritual per fection of the Lay Dominican. As the Holy Scripture says: "Thou shlllove the Lord thy God with thy whole hear, with thy whole soul with thy whole mind, and with whole strength” Through their falllment the Lay Dominicans are united with one another and with theie Dominican forbears 44) The Lay Dominican as an individual, living inthe world, should strive to attend Mass and receive Holy Communion frequently, daily if possible, and should have recourse to the Sacrament of Reconciliation atleast once month. bb) One should ty to recite daly the Office of Read ings, Morning Prayer, Daytime Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Night Prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours. Amongthe disciples of Christ there aremen and wom- censsho live inthe word, participating atively through Baptism and Confirmation in the Royal, Priestly and Prophetic Mission of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and have as their vocation to shine forth the presence of Christ, in the heart of humanity in such a way that through them “the divine message of salvation be known and accepted by all men” (Apost. Act. 4,3) (Dominican Laity) 2) Some among them, moved by the Holy Spirit to lve according to the sprit and charism of St. Dominic, are incorporated into the Dominican Order through 4 special commitment in accordance with their own (Dominican Family) '3) “These seculars form communities and constitute one Dominican Family with other groups of the Order.
