Art Project
Project:
In this project you will be using the
techniques shown in class to create a
work of art that has your name as the
main subject matter.
Requirements:
This project must be at least 6 inches
in its longest direction, so either at
least 6 inches wide or tall.
You will need to correctly use the
score and slip technique to attach an
element to the base.
You must also create a relief affect by
carving a design into the clay.
Due Date:
You will have roughly two
weeks to complete this
project from the time that it
is introduced. If on task,
more time may be given for
more challenging or
complicated designs.
Grading:
This project will be graded
based upon the categories on
the project rubric. Please
read through the grading
criteria before you start your
project.
TIPS
To be successful with
this project you should:
Make sure to spend
time designing and
sketching out your
ideas in your
sketchbook first.
Score and slip
everything you are
attaching to your base.
Take time to make your
project as clean and
finished as possible.
This means that you
should smooth out any
rough areas you don’t
want to be permanent.
Remove any clay burrs
you can see.
