I live in a world where my voice is not allowed to be heard
Where my thoughts are trapped inside a jar and only to be open when needed Surrounded with knuckleheaded teens who roam around and spread idiocy from here to there I live with the generation who sets standards in every aspect That if we don’t meet them, we rather die. I live in a society where they set a standard for beauty and body For complexion, for gender, for race, for religion, for morale, for intelligence A society that makes a man caved inside himself Society that did not help me to become a better person Rather a society that helped me tie a knot and hung it around my neck A society that didn’t build havens for the frails but built wars within them A society that stitches up my mouth and dictates what I should say and think A society that restraints me from yawping Yeah, society sucks. For society set up misleading standards That men can touch any women if they want That people can degrade obtuse kids and say they cannot be clever enough A society that smart shames A society that sets up a new standard for the brainies A society that shouts body orientation That women should have a hourglass-like body That men should be fierce and dauntless A society wherein they enclosed two genders That no other genders are allowed A society filled with closed gates and stone-like hearts. A society that jokes about mental illnesses A society who’s now concerned because one has died A society that kills people softly I’m sorry, society for failing to meet anyone of your standards For I choose to tear down your list of standards Your standards that won’t dictate who we really are I’m sorry society but your list is such a mess I choose to burn your list Turn it to ashes and let people live Let people live a life of contentment and not idiocy.
