In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Whatever is in the heavens and on earth, declare Praises and Glory of
God. He is the Exalted in Might, The Wise. He got out the Unbelievers among the People of the Book from their homes. Little did they thought that they would be out and their fortresses would be unable to defend them from the Wrath of God. God filled terror into their hearts that so they destroyed their own dwellings by their own hands. O you with eyes, take notice from the plight of these people. They would have grevious punishment in the Hereafter also. These are the people who tried to resist God and His Apostle. God is severe in punishing the rebellious transgressors. God bestowed on His Apostle the property taken away from the enemies. For this neither cavalry nor troops mounted on camels were employed in the surrender of the enemy. God gives power to His apostles over anyone He pleases as God has Power over all things. Whatever God has bestowed on His Apostle belongs to God (i.e. to God’s Cause), His Apostle and to kindred and orphans, the needy and the wayfarer so that it may not merely make a circuit among the wealthy elements only. So take what the Apostle gives to you and deny yourselves that which he withholds from you. Fear God, for God is strict in Punishment. Those poor Muhajirs who were ejected from their homes and their properties snatched from them, are also seeking Grace and Good pleasure of God. They also help God and His Apostle. Such are indeed, the sincere ones. Those people of Faith, who were the citizens of Medinah, show their affection to the refugees (from Mecca), prefer them over their ownselves, even though they are poor themselves, subdue their own souls, are the ones that achieve prosperity. And those who came (into the Faith) after them pray to the Lord to forgive them and their brethren who were before them in the Faith, and place not in their hearts any rancor towards those who believe. O Lord, You are Full of Pity, Merciful. The Hypocrites say to their believing brethren among the People of the Book that if you are expelled from Medinah, we will also accompany you and if there is a fight we shall fight along with you. But God knows that they are liars. They are afraid of the Faithfuls. Even if they all be together they do not dare to face you. Their hearts are divided. That is because they are people devoid of wisdom. Their example is that of the Pagans of Mecca who have lately tasted the evil result of their conduct (battle of Badar). There is also another example that of Evil One. It tempts the humans for the disobedience of God. When the sinner gets well into the mire the Evil One says that he is powerless to help you against God. I am afraid of Him. You should bear the consequences of your own follies. The end of both will be that they will go into the Fire for ever. Such a reward awaits the wrong-doers. O you believers, fear God. Let every soul look to what he has sent forth. God is well acquainted with all that you do. Do not be of those who have forgot God. He made them to forget their own souls. Such are the rebellious transgressors. Not equal are those who will be in the Gardens of the Hereafter. The people of the Gardens are the ones who will achieve Falicity. Had We sent down this Qur-an on a mountain, you would have seen it humbled, rent asunder by the fear of God. Such are the similitudes for men that they may reflect upon. He is God, and there is no other God, the Knower of the Invisible and the Visible. He is the Beneficent, the Merciful, the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One, Peace, the Keeper of Faith, the Guardian, the Majestic, the Compeller, the Superb, Glorified be God from all they ascribe as partners (unto Him). He is God, the Creator, the Fashioner. His are the most beautiful names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him, and He is the Mighty, the Wise.
