2 Introduce the new vocabulary items: go straight along, turn left/right, at the end,
opposite
3 Read the text
4 Practice the new vocabulary

MATERIALS:
1. Textbook: Way Ahead – Pupil’s Book, Workbook, Practice Book
2. Whiteboard
3. Printed materials
4. Ipad (listening)

ACTIVITY 1
AIM: Revise the prepositions of place
PROCEDURE INTERACTION TIMING
Ask two students to come in front of the class. Position one of them on T-st 2 min
a chair and then place the other one in different places according to the Individual work
one sitting on the chair.
Ask students to make sentences according to the places of their
colleagues.
Show them a printed image with a bedroom. T-st 3 min
Ask them about the place of different objects in the room.

ACTIVITY 2

AIM: Introduce the new vocabulary items


PROCEDURE INTERACTION TIMING
Ask students to pay attention to your words and movements. T-st 3 min
Move in the classroom and name the movements that I do.
Ask the students to get up and move according to your instructions.
Write the new vocabulary items on the whiteboard and give the T-st 3 min
necessary explication.

ACTIVITY 3
AIM: Reading for the main idea skimming
PROCEDURE INTERACTION TIMING
Read the text once T 1 min
Nominate individual students to read the text T-st 5 min
Give students sentences with general information from the text T-st 2 min
Ask them to say if the sentences are True of False Individual work

ACTIVITY 4

AIM: Listening – Giving directions
PROCEDURE INTERACTION TIMING
Give students printed materials with exercises which will be made T-st 3 min

Pre-listening exercise – match the pictures with the correct directions
(check the vocabulary)
Ask students to listen and make the first exercise (circle the right T-st 3 min

Nominate 5 students to read the sentences. T-st 2 min
Ask other students if the sentences are correct. Ask them to identify St-st
the mistakes and help their colleagues to correct them.
Ask students to listen again and make the second exercise (complete T-st 3 min

AIM: Practice vocabulary – exercises (Workbook)

Ask students to do exercises 1 and 2 page 17 (make sentences about a T-st 5 min
place that you want to find and then give answers using the given map) Individual work
Write the correct questions and answers on the whiteboard T-st 3 min
Nominate pairs of students to read the questions and answers T-st 4 min

Ask students to make exercise 2 page 18 where they have to read the T-st 3 min
given text and write the name of the stores on the map which is next to Individual work
the text.
Draw the map on the whiteboards T-st 3 min
Nominate one student to read the text and then nominate 5 students to St-st
come to the whiteboard and write the name of the store in the correct
place.

HOMEWORK: Exercise 3 page 14 (Practice Book) – identify the place according to the description of its
position
Exercise 7 page 16 (Practice Book) – look at the map and answer the questions.
