Conjugating Regular Portuguese Verbs in Present Tense
Regular verbs in Portuguese end in -ar. Here's an -ar verb: falar (to speak). For the present
tense of the verb, just take off the ending and add -o, -a, -a, -amos, -am, -am to conjugate it:

● Você fal-a (You [singular] speak.)
● *Ele/ela fal-a. (He/she speaks.)
● Nós fal-amos. (We speak.)
● Vocês fal-am. (You [plural] speak.)
● Eles fal-am. (They speak.)

Conjugating regular -er and -ir verbs isn’t difficult. For most -er and -ir verbs, just replace the
-er or -ir with -o, -e, -e, -emos/-imos, or -em.
