Dear Twitter,

my name is mary eng

i began the "piratepartycali" twitter account in february 2009.

i would like it to be reinstated.

there was a deliberate campaign to petition for its removal by

http://twitter.com/field_agent

field agent responded to my accusation of destroying my account with "i got nothing but play, ma'am"

he brags to my former "maryeng1" account and re the removal of "piratepartycali" and "piratepartyus"

i deleted my maryeng1 account bc his tone was condescending, harassing, and perverse.

the pirate party is a non-heirarchical international movement for information freedom.

it is explicitly focused at a radical rethinking of copyright and intellectual property notions.

for any group to assert intellectual property over the words "pirateparty" is a farce. the abstractions are
collaborative in ethos.

to allow a complete shut down based on one-sided hearsay and fictitious intellectual property claims
(they do not have the 5013c status in order)
completely inhibits the educational and informative support my twitter account sought to provide.

my twitter account "piratepartycali" was an informative feed focused on cyberlaw issues, tech
innovations, and positive looks at open source, open information, and an open society.

because of my legal studies i did not have a lot of time to dedicate to this account but i found it a
helpful and informative way to connect to people all over the world.

my german pirate party devotees followed my account in increasing numbers coincident with the
election of a pirate party candidate to eu parliment and german post.
i twittered in german and enjoyed my contacts in south america and sweden.
to have this ripped away seems deliberate and unfair because my primary aim was to promote thought
and discussion about the future of technology.

please reinstate my account.

also i would like an explanation in writing why my account was deleted.

the claims were erroneous in the destruction of my account and i am disappointed that twitter would act
so rashly and unfairly without even understanding the widespread international pirate party movement.
i do not argue that you should hold my views.
but those political views are so new and so critical to the p2p community and the international
framework of copyright law and intellectual property notions, that i feel the deletion of my account was
based on unfair censorship.

Field_agent's egomaniacal power wranglings should not be propped up by the twitter team.
no group or organization can own the words "pirate." the pirate bay itself has distanced itself from all
relation to the pirate party in sweden and the use of the name "pirate" provides an essential marker to a
certain demographic of the subject matter in discussion.

i will waste time no further elaborating my sentiments, but hope for a prompt response,
the issues for the deletion of the account in writing, and the reinstatement of my account.

i would also like you to investigate wrongdoing and admission of wrongdoing on the part of
"field_agent" for the concerted effort to disavow the collaborative support of piratepartyus and
piratepartycali by having us removed.

for reference please see the revised pirateparty.us anti-twitter agenda as published here:
http://pirate-party.us/node/59
this level of harassment and allegation calling our accounts "fraudulent" and calling us "identity
thieves" is missing the core point that we are free in this new time to speak freely and contribute to the
discourse.

i would similarly contend that pirateparty.us and field_agent are doomed to irrelevancy and obscurity
for short-sightedly killing off their bona fide allies and putting egowars above the common good.
i am in communication with the account holder of deleted "piratepartyus" and he is a learned scholar of
tech and p2p issues. we agree whole heartedly that our voices belong in the international arena in this
nascent political movement that is so new it cannot yet be owned or named or corrupted as intently as
the field_agent would like to restrict us so he is the only voice permitted on the twitter podium.

please note that this primitive view of marketing and proprietary control mechanisms is contrary to the
international spirit of the open information movement and the pirate party as it spontaneously arises in
decentralized manifestations.

please to not censor legitimate intellectual activity.

thank you, and with great sincerity,

mary eng
