As a Catholic, I value the morals God has given to his followers. I also have my own
perspective and view points on some of these beliefs. God gave his followers the Bible, which
state the rules and beliefs of the Catholic faith. Even if not said aloud, all Catholic’s possess their
own outlook on certain parts of the faith. It is hard to fully grasp all of the concepts God has
given to us about his life. Our mission as followers of Christ is to live up to our faith and strive to
be with God for eternity. I believe it is okay to have certain viewpoints of specific things as long
The Catholic faith is very important and real to me. The Catholic faith dates back well
over 2000 years. This causes me to proudly believe in the Catholic faith plus all of its teachings
that are proven to be true. Simply, the belief that God created everything good in the word
proves to me that Catholic teachings must be true. This world did not just appear, God created it.
We are surrounded by beautiful things that God has blessed us with and that is one of the many
ways I know that God is real. Through prayer, I believe that God is listening to me although
sometimes, it is difficult to have faith. Yes, I believe God listens to my prayers and that he is
always present although, I never feel his presence when I pray. I sometime feel like I am talking
to myself when I pray. Even though I don’t feel his presence I still believe he is there. I
sometimes even look and ask for a sign from God telling me that he is present. The signs I ask
for do not happen but I believe that God is showing me that he is present through good events
that happen to me. This teaches me to see God in everything for he has created everything
morally good. For example, from getting a good grade on a test to my grandma being cured from
cancer, I believe God shows this presence through both of these events. God works small
miracles that sometimes we never realize are a sign of him, and also big ones that are life

changing. This is how I know God is real and that he is present even though it might not feel like
it.
Prayer is for the most part, prevalent and important in my life. I believe prayer is a
blessing that gives us the ability to be as close to talking to God as possible. I should pray more
then I do. This is something I am working toward as I grow in my Catholic faith. I tend to pray
when things are bad and not nearly as much as to simply give thanks to God. God has blessed me
God created humans from his image and likeness. He gave us life so that we may spread
his gospel message and live out his faith. Our mission is to live a life as one of his disciples and
strive to have eternal life with him in heaven. I believe that there is heaven, purgatory, and hell. I
think that everyone goes to purgatory and that it is a calm place of penance. Everyone has sinned
and like Reconciliation, everyone receives a penance to fully be forgiven for your sins. I do not
believe purgatory is a painful place. I think weather or not you want to repent and continue with
God is what determines if you go to heaven or hell. God makes this decision based on how you
lived your life and how close you are with him. God has the final say of your destination. Heaven
and hell are opposites so I believe opposite people go to each. Living a life in Christ’s footsteps
leads you to heaven and in the path of temptation of the devil will lead you to hell. I believe
heaven is not just the saints and “perfect” people. I think that if you strive to be with God and
repent your sins in purgatory you will go to Heaven. How long it takes to get there is up to the
judgement of God and how you lived your life on earth. I do not see God as a scary image, I see

him as a loving companion that is always there for me. I pray that someday I will see the face of
Morality is an important aspect of the Catholic faith. When figuring out right from
wrong, I turn to God through prayer. Along with listening to my gut, I pray to God for guidance.
I know in my heart what God knows is the right thing to do but I don’t always listen. To grow
my faith, I must continue to turn to God for guidance. I must always trust his judgement and not
to turn away from it. In a case of making a wrong decision, it is usually because I make the
decision too fast. Unfortunately, these wrong decisions are sometimes influenced by what the
secular world says. It convinces me to do something even though I know it is wrong. I don’t take
time to think it through and ask God for help. If the results of my actions are wrong, I pray to
God too late and ask for guidance to get me through my sin. As a Catholic, I know that God’s
guidance is always right because if we listen to him we will be with him forever. God sacrificed
his life for our sins. He gave us prayer so we can fight our sins and turn to him to help us do so. I
I am proud to be a Catholic and to have the ability to make a mistake and be forgiven by
God. I believe that God sent down his son for us so that my sins could be forgiven. Not only do I
believe in the Catholic faith, but I believe that God is real and present in my everyday life. It is
certainly hard to feel his presence since you cannot physically see Jesus, but through prayer I can
connect to him. This gives me hope of an after life with him. Next to the Eucharist, I think that
prayer is the next biggest blessing God has given to us. I am excited for the after life but also a
little scared. I try hard to live a life like Christ although I do have my flaws and can always do

better. I sin but never fully turn from God which I believe will bring me to purgatory to repent. I
believe a majority of people will go to purgatory but it is not a place to be terrified of. In the
footsteps of Christ and his guidance through prayer, I believe he will lead me to a bright future
ahead.
