Meet the Coaches
Kyle Klingaman
Coach Klingaman enters his 10th year as the head coach at Kellogg Community
College. After graduating from Tekonsha High School in 1986, coach Klingaman
began his coaching career helping with football and JV basketball at his alma mater.
He quickly realized his love was for the hardwood and started coaching JV football
and girls basketball at Athens High School, where he also was the boys’ varsity coach
from 1999-2001.

Coach Klingaman moved on to Homer High School where he took over the girls’
varsity program from 2001-2006. During the 2006-07 season, he landed at KCC as
the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach and the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach
simultaneously until he was named the Head Women’s Basketball Coach for the
2007-08 season to the present.

Coach Klingaman can be found hanging with his 9th grade daughter, Sydney, when he
isn’t coaching. He enjoys doing the 4-H programs with his daughter in his limited
free time. He also enjoys being outdoors when he isn’t at his full-time job at the
FireKeeper’s Casino.
Head Coach

Erin Trudell
Coach Trudell enters her 2nd year as an assistant Bruins basketball coach. She
graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in Exercise Science.
Since then she has worked in many areas of her field such as cardiac rehab, fitness
training & testing in the corporate field (the big 3; Ford, Chrysler & GM). Currently
Coach Trudell is an adjunct instructor in the physical education and social science
department here at KCC. She teaches a variety of health, wellness and nutrition
courses. She also works as a substitute teacher & aid in her children’s elementary
school as well as being an integral part of her 107 year old family run restaurant
(Cascarelli’s of Albion).

Coach Trudell has been involved in a wide spectrum of sports beginning at age 3 as
a dancer then a competitive state level gymnast. In high school she played varsity
basketball and volleyball. As a college student she played travel club volleyball and
recreational basketball. Today Trudell enjoys running, water skiing, and is an overall
active sport enthusiast. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge with the Bruins
women’s basketball team by helping with their strength and conditioning program as
well as increasing their flexibility and overall performance.
