Pancakes Recipe
Directions:
1. Take 1 cup milk and pour it into a bowl
(or measuring cup).
2. Measure 1 cup flour.
3. Add the flour to the milk in the measuring cup or
bowl.
4. Stir the milk and flour.
5. Add 3 eggs.
6. Stir the eggs and milk and flour.
7. The stirred eggs and milk and flour
is called "pancake batter."

To cook the pancakes:

8. Pour 2 tablespoons of oil into a frying pan.
9. Heat the oil.
10. Pour 1/4 cup of the pancake batter into
the frying pan.
11. It will cook on one side. It will be brown.
12. Flip the pancake.
13. Cook it on the other side.
14. Serve hot with sugar on top.

The Story of the Runaway
Pancake
Four women were hungry.
One had an egg.
One had some milk.
One had some flour.
One had some oil.
Let’s make a pancake, they
said.
They poured the milk into a
bowl.
They added the egg.
They added the flour.
They stirred the egg and
milk and flour
to make a good pancake
batter.
They poured the oil into the
frying pan.
They heated the oil.
They poured some batter
into the frying pan
When the oil was hot.
The pancake cooked on one
side.
They flipped the pancake.
It smelled good!
They cooked the pancake on
the other side.
It looked good and brown!
They wanted to serve it.
They got a plate.
They tried to lift it with the
spatula to put it on the
plate.
But suddenly, quick as a
flash, the pancake flipped
out of the frying pan,
off of the spatula,
and rolled out the door!
He rolled into the city.
He rolled past a man.
“Stop pancake!” said the
man.
But the pancake rolled
faster, and the man could
not catch him.
He rolled past a tall building.
“Stop pancake!” said the
people in the building.
But the pancake rolled

He rolled past a shop.
“Stop pancake!” said the
people in the shop.

He rolled into a school.

office.

circle around the

“Walk closer to me.
Closer and closer.”
The students walked
closer and closer to the
teacher.
As they walked, the
circle got smaller and
smaller.
Soon the circle was
very tight.
There was no space
between the students
for the pancake to
escape.
“You rolled away from
the women, the man,
the people in the
building, shop, office,
cafeteria, auditorium,
gym, and bathrooms,
but you can’t roll away
from our teacher and
us because we
cooperate as a team!”
The teacher served the
class the pancake with
sugar on top.
