GENERAL GUIDELINES & MECHANICS

1. The Sportsfest 2018 has six (6) Teams of different colors namely green, yellow, navy
blue, royal blue, red, and black. Each team color is composed of members / players
from Grade 6 to Grade 12.
2. All ball games are single elimination only.
3. Rules of the games and wellness procedure must be strictly observed by the players.
4. Students with health issues/medical concerns are NOT ALLOWED to play unless
with medical certificate approved by a physician or a doctor.
5. All students must be in their complete PE uniform. Players must be in their proper
sports / game attire (gumsole shoes, , etc.) during the event.
6. The Players are allowed to bring their own materials and equipment. The school is
NOT liable for any damage or loss of these personal materials and equipment.
7. The decision of the umpire is always final and irrevocable.
8. All students and teachers must consider safety precautions, discipline, cleanliness
and sense of responsibility during the entire duration of the event.
9. Students are NOT ALLOWED to leave the venue unless the event has concluded
and without permission from his / her adviser.
10. Reply slips of the students must strictly be held by the class advisers during the
event.

GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS of BALL GAMES & SWMMING

January 26, 2018, Friday 1. Table Tennis Tournament

Venue: IMC Basement,
Time: 12:00 NN-3:00 PM
Persons Involved: T. Al, T. Ed

Materials Needed: Table tennis, net, ball, score sheets and table
Mechanics:
1. The methods of the competition are singles (both boys and girls) and mixed
doubles.
2. The objective is to earn 11 points to win the set.
3. The player who succeeds two consecutive sets wins.

January 26, 2018, Friday 2. Darts

Venue: IMC Bayani Basement
Time: 12:00 NN-3:20 PM
Persons Involved: T. Dhel, T. Thom

Materials Needed: Dart board, pins, and score sheets

Mechanics:
1. Two representatives from each team are chosen to participate in the game.
2. Each team will take turns in shooting darts.
3. Each team will start with 420 points.
4. The first team to reduce the 420 points to zero wins the game.

1. One representatives from each team are to participate in the game.

2. One board game is used by two teams during the game.

Venue: Alfresco Cafe
Time: 12:00 NN-3:20 PM

Materials Needed: Tables, chairs, Chess board and score sheets
Mechanics:
1. One representatives for each team are to participate in the game.
2. One board game is used by two teams during the game.
3. The undefeated team wins the game.

January 29, 2018 Monday 5. Sepak Tournament

Venue: IMC Bayani, Basement
Time: 12:00 NN-3:00 PM

Persons Involved: T. Ian-Gay,T. Viena

Materials Needed: Net, Score sheet and Ball

Mechanics:
1. Three skilled members per team are to participate in the game.
2. The objective is to earn 15 points per set to win the competition.
3. The Team that succeeds to earn 15 points in two consecutive sets
wins the game.

February 2, 2018 Friday 6. Basketball Tournament

Venue: ARMY Gymnasium
Time: 7:30-11:30 AM
Persons Involved: T. Windel, T. Bobby, and T. Thom
Materials Needed: Ball, Score Sheet, Movable board. Eraser, Marker
Mechanics:
1. The tournament is inter-color using the single elimination schedule.
2. The first half runs 10 mins. consisting of two quarters, 5 minutes each and the
Second Half runs 10 mins. also consisting of two quarters.
3. Twenty players per team assessed in skills and knowledge of the game are
chosen.
4. There will be four quarters. Each team will select five players consisting of grade
six to grade twelve students per quarter. As much as possible, there should be no
two players in the same year level playing in the same quarter.
5. The elimination and championship round are scheduled on February 2, 2018.
6. The objective of the game is to earn the highest points technically after four
quarters to win the competition.

February 2, 2018 Friday 7. Volleyball Tournament

Venue: ARMY Gymnasium
Time: 7:30 AM-11:30 AM

Materials Needed: Net, Score sheet and Ball

Mechanics:
1. Twelve skilled members per team shall participate in the game
2. The elimination and championship round are scheduled on February 2,
2018.
3. The team that succeeds to earn 25 points two consecutive sets wins
the game.

February 2, 2018, Friday 8. Badminton Tournament

Venue: Army Gymnasium, Fort Bonifacio
Time: 7:30 AM-11:30 AM

Persons Involved: T. Luch, T. Ian

Materials Needed: Net, shuttlecock, Score sheet and Badminton racket
Mechanics:
1. The methods of the competition are singles (both boys and girls), mixed doubles
and doubles (men and women)
2. The elimination and championship round are scheduled on February 2,
2018
3. The tournament is inter-color using the single elimination schedule.
4. The team that succeeds to earn 15 points in two consecutive sets wins the
game.

PALARONG PINOY MECHANICS

1. Agawan Panyo

Persons Involved: T. Windel, T. Thommas

Materials Needed: 1 large Handkerchief
Time Allotted: 5 minutes
Mechanics:
1. Played by two teams, participants are selected and are grouped with eight
members each, assigned with a number from 1 to 8.
4 from Grade 6
2 from Grade 7
2 from Grade 8
8 members

2. A Teacher holds a handkerchief up high and participants are called randomly

according to their numbers from 1 to 10.
3. The objective is to snatch the handkerchief without being tagged by any opponent
and return to the team’s base to earn a point.
4. If a player is tagged by a foe, the point is earned by the foe’s team.
5. The teams that first earns 5 points wins the game.

2. Tamaang Tao

Persons Involved: T. Orlan, T. Jazent

Materials Needed: 1 ball (Volleyball)

Mechanics:

1. Two teams must toss coin to know which team gets hit by the ball. The team who
wins gets to choose whether to hit or to get hit. The team to be hit must be at the
center with some of the members of the other team in front and at the back. The
team who is hitting must hit the opposing team, a member who gets hit will be out
of the game. The team with the most number of hits in 1 minute will win. The team
with no hits is considered out in the game.

PARLOR GAMES MECHANICS

1. BIG FOOT RACE

MATERIALS: 10 large size shoe boxes
MECHANICS:

1. There will be 10 members in each team.

2. Each team will be given 5 minutes to finish the game.
3. Each member will race back and forth wearing the large shoe boxes.
4. The first team to go back to the starting line will be the winner.

2. HOOP AND BALL RACE

MATERIALS: 60 ping pong ball, 6 Hoops
MECHANICS:

1. There will be 10 members in each team.

2. Each team will be given 5 minutes to finish the game.
3. Using only their knees, players must take turns picking up five tennis balls one at
a time from the ground and transfer inside the hoops.

3. PASS THE BALL

MATERIALS: 6 volleyball balls
MECHANICS:

1. There will be 10 members in each team.

2. Each team will be given 5 minutes to finish the game.
3. Using their feet, players must pass the volleyball while lying down.
4. The first team to finish will be the winner.

OBSTACLE RELAY
MATERIALS: 6 small tables, 6 large rags, 12 meters garter
MECHANICS:

1. There will be 10 members in each team.

2. Each team will be given 5 minutes to finish the game
3. From the starting line, each member of the team will pass under the table for
the 1st obstacle. Running to the 2nd obstacle, the player will jump over the

garter. Then the player will sit on the rag dragging towards the finish line.
Lastly, the player will run back to the starting line and will tap the next player.
4. The first team to finish will be the winner.
