Change of Watch
Here we have some scenes from our March
21 Change of Watch dinner, held at the
Stamford Yacht Club. Left, Commander
Gino Bottino is sworn in by the District 2
Executive officer, Susan Ryan. Below
them, Squadron Education Officer George
Hallenbeck presents the St. David’s Light
Trophy to Leo Nelson. This trophy is
awarded each year to a member who has
contributed over a prolonged period of
years to the aims and objectives of our
squadron. In Leo’s case, this includes
terms as Commander and Squadron
Educaton Officer, and several years on the
Executive Committee. We don’t have a
picture, but Sid Blum was recognized as a
Life Member. On the next page, we have
the friends and members who turned out to
thank the old Bridge, and welcome the new.

stories of the devotion to duty and hard
work of the lighthouse keepers remind us

take for granted are very recent. The
stories of shady government deals
related to the equipping and funding of
the lights remind us of other things…
