Data Viewer

Summary
The STATGRAPHICS Data Viewer allows the user to create a table showing all or part of the
currently loaded data. The data may be sorted based on up to 3 columns. The Select field may
also be used to display only a subset of the rows.

Sample StatFolio: dataviewer.sgp

Sample Data:
The file 93cars.sgd contains information on 26 variables for n = 93 makes and models of
automobiles, taken from Lock (1993).

Data Input
To run the procedure, select Data Viewer from the Tools menu. Then complete the dialog box
shown below. If the 93cars.sgd file has been loaded into the first datasheet, you can display
several columns using the following input:

The important input fields are:

 Columns: the columns to be displayed in the table.

 Primary, Secondary, Tertiary sort: optional columns on which to sort the data.

 Select: subset selection used to display a subset of the rows in the datasheet.

For example, the dialog box above asks to display 6 columns of data, sorting the data first by
automobile Type, then by number of Passengers, and then by Mid Price. Only cars rated to
obtain at least 25 miles per gallon in city driving are listed.

Analysis Summary
The Analysis Summary summarizes the data that has been selected.
