Minimum requirements:

 CAD drawing. One of the drawings should clearly mark the point of interest, load, input
force/torque etc.
 Kinematic analysis (motion, velocity, acceleration, jerk for cam if a cam is involved).
 Materials and sizing of components (force analysis will be needed). Calculation of needed
force/torque power input.
 The above design/calculation is based on real application load/size.
