Teacher’s sheet
Skill: Grammar
Time: 10 minutes
Before Make copies of the cards on the Student’s sheet for each small group of
the students. Cut out the cards. Make sure you keep the questions and the
lesson: tags separate. You could copy them onto different coloured paper.
In class: • Write on the board: You like playing games, .... and elicit the question
tag don’t you?
• Ask students to work in groups of 3 or 4 and give each group a set of
cards.
• Groups lay the questions face down on one side and the tags face
down on the other.
• One student turns over a question and tells the others which tag goes
with it.
• He/she then turns over a tag. If it is the right one, the student takes the
cards. If not, she/he turns them both over again. In both cases, the
next person then turns over a question and names the tag.
• Students continue until all cards have been turned over and the tags
joined to the correct question.
