TRIJYESTHA DOSHA is regarded as the bad combination of "Three

JYESTHAs"

1. Jyestha (First) Son/ Daughter

2. 'Jyestha' Nakshatra (Star of the native/ star of the day)
3. 'Jyestha' Maasa (The lunar month of Jyestha)

Though it is very difficult to explain this by the available astrological principles, there
are many observation to be made:

* In Jyestha Maasa, the SUN will be transiting from 15 degree Taurus (Vrishabha) to
15 degree Gemini (Mithuna) approximately, corresponding to Navamshas from
Taurus to Capricorn.

* The Fifth lord represents the eldest son or daughter in any chart; and Sun being the
natural fifth lord for the KaalaPurusha (whose Lagna is Mesha) acts as universal
karaka for eldest child.

* The Sun's movement through Aridra (6-40 to 20 degrees Gemini) has a special and
powerful effect not only for a native but also for the whole EARTH and this
phenomenon is clearly explained in astro-meteorology and Mundane astrology. This
actually is the movement of the EARTH (Heliocentric) through the star MOOLA,
which aligns on the longitude same as that of ORIGIN of the universe according to
science. (Perhaps that is why the star was rightly called MOOLA - the origin!)

* For Jyestha star, Aridra happens to be Naidhana Taara or the star of death. For
Vrischika Rashi containing Jyestha, Mithuna or Gemini containing Aridra is the 8th
Rashi or sign of Longevity. Since the Earth's Moola transit is observed to be a
sensitive time, the transit around Moola must have been found risky for any new
enterprise concerning the family tree (Moola represents the tree and root). And this is
in the month of Jyestha. geocentrically, the Sun will be traversing MrigaSira-Aridra-
Punarvasu triad in Mithuna Rashi which speaks of 'COUPLE'. And it is obvious that
Sun's sensitive movement in and around Aridra -the death star for Jyestha and in 8th
Rashi is a matter of fear for a Jyestha born native. The risk is great when the son or
daughter concerned is the FIRST(=Jyestha) due to socio-economic and political
reasons. And since Sun signifies the eldest son/daughter, his affliction is risky to an
eldest one astrologically.

SO, now we can get a picture as to why THREE JYESTHAs were involved in
causing a dosha. Particularly Marriage was not advised since Mithuna Rashi is in
picture. Thus, in Jyestha (lunar month), for a Jyestha(eldest child) of Jyestha (star),
marriage etc, was avoided under the name TRI-JYESTHA DOSHA, which later
became an astro-dictum in electional astrology or Muhurta. But now, it has changed
to many forms and become 'ANY THREE Jyesthas is a dosha'.

In my opinion, for a Jyestha-born, it is better to leave out Jyestha Maasa, particularly

when Sun is in Aridra. If TriJyestha is unavoidable, stengthen the Muhurta with no
major doshas.
