Shackle Scrubber Now Available
for Cantrell’s Wing Segmenter
With now more than 175 sold, the CWCS-8400 Wing Segmenter is one
of our best-selling machines, and has set a new industry standard for
wing segmenting.
Over that time, we’ve continued to look for ways to improve the Wing
Segmenter. Last year, we added stainless steel doors.
Now, we have a Shackle Scrubber available that keeps the Wing Segmenter
clean and running at peak efficiency.
The Shackle Scrubber can operate connected
to the Wing Segmenter and controlled
remotely through its control panel, or as a
standalone operation. It features push button
operation from start to finish with an automatic
soap, wash and rinse operation. It can clean
steel or plastic shackles.
For our customers, the automated operation
helps minimize sanitation time and labor. It has
a compact design and can be reconfigured
to meet each customer’s needs. It also can
be configured to wash multiple further

Cantrell Offers Rotary

Separators for Feathers Offal separator: The offal
separator’s stainless steel augers
and Offal ensure the offal is moved through
the separator quickly.
Cantrell’s Rotary Separator System features
both a Rotary Separator for feathers and one
for offal for use in poultry processing.
The Cantrell Rotary Separators separate the
offal or feathers from the transport water. The
offal is collected and sent to rendering plants,
where it is processed into high-protein meals
or liquids for use in animal feed or biofuel.
Both machines feature perforated or wedge
wire stainless steel drums and are chain or belt-driven. Each comes in a
standard 38-inch diameter size, but both are available in other sizes. Lengths
vary upon application.

through the separator quickly.

Cantrell Vacuum Transport Systems Are Versatile and Dependable
Cantrell has set the industry standard in Vacuum
Transport Systems for 35 years.
Over the years, Cantrell has developed and perfected
various premium vacuum transport systems that meet
the individual needs of our customers.
“Whether it’s moving product where conveyors are not
an option or transporting product to a separate facility, we
have the ability to design systems to meet our customer’s
requirements,” said Jesse Jones, Cantrell Manager/Service.
“We have vacuum systems in operation capable of longer
transportation lengths than many of our competitors.”
Through research and development, Cantrell is constantly
innovating new components to reduce labor and maintenance
costs associated with large complex systems.
Along with offal vacuum systems and edible
product vacuum systems, Cantrell designs and
manufactures other customized systems for specified
customer applications.
Offal Vacuum System
The Offal Vacuum System is capable of up to 16 pick-up
points on a single system and Cantrell has installed
systems in excess of 2,500 feet.
The systems are applicable in picking, evisceration and
further processing areas of a poultry plant. The systems
can be used to move heads, feet, shanks and knuckles,
oil sacs, intestinal packages, condemned product, necks,
gizzard harvester by-products, neck skin, skin, carcasses,
keel tips, bones and bone residue, etc.
Cantrell’s Offal Vacuum System, which incorporates
green-compliant motors, is highly efficient using less
energy. It features a water re-use system which leads to
less water consumption.
The Virginia Poultry Growers Coop has used the Offal
Vacuum System for 12 years in their turkey operation.
“We installed two Cantrell vacuum systems in September
2003 in our deboning system to remove deboned bones,
skin, and the bone content from our mechanically
separated turkey,” said Phil Miller, VGPC engineering
manager. “All of the product is vacuumed to the offal
trailer. This has saved many labor hours and has performed
well for 12 years with normal maintenance. These are
good systems and would not hesitate to use it again.”
The Edible Product Transport System can have up to 10
pick-up points. The system is capable of transporting
breast shells, backs, skin, thighs, legs, necks, paws,
whole wings and wing parts.
For paw transport, Cantrell was one of the first to
successfully transport paws in an air conveying system.
The Paw Transportation System is cost-efficient to
operate, using a low horsepower power source and
needs little to no water to operate. The clean in place
(CIP) system controls can be incorporated into the main
system controller.

Cantrell’s Wing Transport System was initially developed
to transport wing parts but has also been adapted
to move whole wings. The control system can be
customized for a plant’s needs. It has an integrated clean
in place control system, status monitoring and CIP time
traceability. The controls can be customized for each
plant’s needs.
Custom Vacuum Systems
Cantrell can develop custom systems for a customer’s
specific needs.
Cantrell offers online support for all vacuum systems.
Cantrell technicians can access a plant’s controller
to view the system and settings and make any
necessary modifications.
“We’ve been building and installing vacuum systems for
a long time,” Jones said. “Our systems have stood the
test of time, working well in various plant set-ups. We
have the expertise to customize them for any plant.”
