MARKET INSIGHTS: On Monday Sep 06 2010, The domestic markets got a surprising rally
DATA MATRIX OF LAST SESSION
today led by the markets heavyweights, taking the benchmarks to their 31 month high,
INDEX Close Chg Chg the Sensex and Nifty had last seen this level in January 2008.Though the market
Sensex 18560 339 1.86% heavyweights participated after the morning trade it was the broader indices that gave
Nifty 5577 98 1.79% the momentum to markets rally from the very beginning. Metal were the sector shining
from the start and kept continuously adding as the trade progressed. All the other rate
Midcap 7962 373 4.92% sensitive sectors too hogged the limelight, equally supporting the rally of the day. As the
Smallcap 10095 182 1.84% day progressed the markets started gaining strength and metal sector stocks kept their
rally mood intact. Towards the noon the benchmarks touched their fresh high as the US
VALUE TRADED (Rs Crs) Chg and European index futures were trading in the green in screen trade while the broader
markets continued to outperform the benchmarks. In the post noon session the

heavyweights became active and the gained momentum, Reliance Industries, that was
NSE 14893 19.75% trading in somber mood for last couple of days suddenly took the charge and gained
F&O Total 114399 75.31% about 3 percent taking the markets higher. In the final hours there was a slight bit of profit
booking but the traders seemed confident and the markets didn't lost their traction till
end closing near to high point of the day.
NET INFLOWS (Rs Crs) Chg
The BSE Sensex advanced 345.74 points or 1.90% to 18,567.19. The index touched a
FIIs 947.0 235%
high and a low of 18,600.30 and 18,124.29, respectively (provisional). The BSE Mid-cap
DIIs 353.0 -387% and Small-cap indices advanced 1.27% and 1.84%, respectively (provisional). The
main gainers in the BSE sectoral space were Metal up 3.49%, Oil and Gas up 2.00%,
FII OPEN INTEREST (Crs) Chg Bankex up 1.96%, IT up 1.96% and Realty up 1.88%. There were no losers on the BSE
sectoral indices. The S&P CNX Nifty surged 100.85 points or 1.84% to 5,580.25. The
FII Index Futures 16937 5.47%
index touched a high and a low of 5589.40 and 5479.55, respectively (provisional).

All the other Asian indices, barring KLSE Composite which is down by 0.07% settled
FII Stock Futures 36790 2.76% in the green. Shanghai Composite up by 40.85 points or 1.54% to 2,696.25, Hang Seng
FII Stock Options 845 9.17% up by 384.27 points or 1.83% to 21,355.77, Jakarta Composite up by 52.87 points or
1.67% to 3,217.15, Nikkei 225 up by 187.19 points or 2.05% to 9,301.32, Straits Times up
by 32.02 points or 1.07% to 3,034.58, Seoul Composite up by 12.40 points or 0.70% to
World Indices Chg 1,792.42 and Taiwan Weighted was up by 60.74 points or 0.78% to 7,890.95.

TECHNICAL VIEW: What a marvelous session we have gone through yesterday. Opened on a relatively higher note
backed by strong global cues, spot index shown enthusiastic rally ended up with substantial gains . Remember we have said
earlier that 5340 will be the key support zone. Exactly to our expectations spot index shown some materialistic cushions at this
level and posted handsome returns from the last few sessions. For the upcoming sessions we believe quite a positive scenario
though range could be between 5340-5630. Any break out above this level may generate another bullish sentiment in the near
term however we might see some profit booking on higher levels also. HAPPY TRADING....
