ON LEARNING RESULT OF CLASS VIII STUDENTS ON

EPSOM IPS ECONOMIC LESSONS IN SMP NEGERI 3

ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine whether there is influence of cooperative
learning model Think Pair Share on student learning outcomes of class VIII
on Economic IPS subjects in SMP Negeri 3 Lamboya.

Researchers use quasi eksperimen.Bentuk designquasi experiments

used in this study is non-equivalent controlgroup design, by dividing the
two groups keduannya determined through purposive sampling. The first
group is the experimental group and the second group is the control group.
Students in experimental group applied cooperative learning model of think
pair share, while students in control group still use conventional method.
The results showed that post-test result, experimental class had higher
mean value than control class, that is 74,64 for experiment class and 63,07
for control class, where before applying Think Paire Share model on pretest
experiment class get the value of 60,71 and control class 56,64 thus increase
of learning result equal to 22,9% and both group is normal and homogenous
distribution. Thus from the results of research that has been implemented, it
is proved that there is an increase of learning outcomes after using
cooperative learning model Think Pair Share. And it can be concluded there
has been an increase of 22.9% in the experimental class and 11.3% in the
control class, and the test results are known the value of sign for the
experimental group get the value of 0.542> 0.05 and the sign value for the
control group 0.488> 0.05 . It can be concluded that the data for the
experimental group and the control group are normally distributed.
Based on the description presented above, it can be concluded that the
learning outcomes of students using cooperative learning model Think Pair
Share with KKM amounted to 75 good and very effective in teaching and
learning activities because it helps facilitate teachers in controlling student
activities and facilitate students in understanding the material, so can
improve student learning outcomes and generate cooperation between
students, and student interest and interest.

ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh
model pembelajaran kooperatif Think Pair Share terhadap hasil belajar
siswa kelas VIII pada mata pelajaran IPS Ekonomi di SMP Negeri 3
Lamboya.
Peneliti menggunakan metode quasi eksperimen.Bentuk
designquasi eksperimen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah non-
equivalent controlgroup design, dengan membagi 2 kelompok yang
keduannya ditentukan melalui purposive sampling. Kelompok pertama
adalah kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kedua adalah kelompok
kontrol. Siswa pada kelompok eksperimen diterapkan model pembelajaran
kooperatif think pair share, sedangkan siswa pada kelompok kontrol tetap
menggunakan metode konvensional.
Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa hasil post-test, kelas
ekperimen memiliki nilai rata-rata yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas
kontrol,yaitu 74,64 untuk kelas eksperimen dan 63,07 untuk kelas kontrol,
dimana sebelum dilakukan penerapan model Think Paire Share pada pretest
kelas eksperimen mendapatkan nilai 60,71 dan kelas kontrol 56,64 dengan
demikian peningkatan dari hasil belajar sebesar 22,9% dan kedua kelompok
tersebut berdistribusi normal dan homogen. Dengan demikian dari hasil
penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan, dibuktikan bahwa ada peningkatan
terhadap hasil belajar setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif
Think Pair Share. Dan dapat disimpulkan telah terjadi peningkatan sebesar
22,9% pada kelas eksperimen dan 11,3% pada kelas kontrol, dan hasil
pengujian diketahui nilai sign untuk kelompok eksperimen mendapatkan
nilai 0,542 > 0,05 dan nilai sign untuk kelompok kontrol 0,488 > 0,05.
Maka dapat disimpulkan data untuk kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok
kontrol berditribusi normal.
Berdasarkan uraian yang dikemukakan diatas, maka dapat
disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan model
pembelajaran kooperatif Think Pair Share dengan KKM sebesar 75
terbilang baik dan sangat efektif dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar karena
membantu memudahkan guru dalam mengontrol aktivitas siswa dan
memudahkan siswa dalam memahami materi, sehingga dapat meningkatkan
hasil belajar siswa dan membangkitkan kerja sama antara siswa,dan
keinginan serta minat belajar siswa.
