Si queremos conocer el origen etimológico de la palabra ingeniería que ahora nos ocupa lo que

tenemos que hacer es marcharnos, metafóricamente hablando, hasta el latín pues descubriremos que
dicho término emana del vocablo latino ingenium. Un término este que puede traducirse como
“producir”.

La ingeniería es el estudio y la aplicación de las distintas ramas de la tecnología. El profesional en este

ámbito recibe el nombre de ingeniero.
La actividad del ingeniero supone la concreción de una idea en la realidad. Esto quiere decir que, a
través de técnicas, diseños y modelos, y con el conocimiento proveniente de las ciencias, la ingeniería
puede resolver problemas y satisfacer necesidades humanas.

La ingeniería también supone la aplicación de la inventiva y del ingenio para desarrollar una cierta
actividad. Esto, por supuesto, no implica que no se utilice el método científico para llevar a cabo los
planes.
Entre las distintas tareas que puede llevar a cabo un ingeniero, se encuentra la investigación (la
búsqueda de nuevas técnicas), el diseño, el desarrollo, la producción, la construcción y la operación.
Por otra parte, es importante tener en cuenta que la ingeniería contempla diversas ramas. La ingeniería
genética, por ejemplo, está vinculada a la manipulación y transferencia del ADN de unos organismos a
otros.
De la misma forma, y teniendo en cuenta el importante papel que las tecnologías desempeñan en
nuestro día a día, no podemos obviar a la disciplina o rama científica que se da en llamar ingeniería
informática. La misma se encarga de trabajar y diseñar soluciones en materias de comunicación que
sean capaces de llevar a cabo el procesamiento de la información de una manera automática.
En este sentido, los profesionales ingenieros de aquella deben tener conocimientos sobre
computación, telecomunicaciones, diseño de software, electrónica, algoritmos y lenguajes formales o
instrumentación virtual, entre otros.
También tenemos que subrayar a la ingeniería forestal que se encarga de acometer todo tipo de
estudios, análisis, proyectos e intervenciones en materia de protección del medio ambiente. Así, tiene
como objeto de trabajo tanto los montes como los humedales, los parques, la fauna, los caminos y vías
forestales, los recursos cinegéticos y piscícolas o las energías renovables.
Y, por supuesto, hay que resaltar también a la ingeniería aeronáutica que es la que se encarga de crear
y fabricar todo tipo de dispositivos que tienen la capacidad de volar. Es decir, es la que trabaja con
aviones, equipos espaciales, misiles o aeronaves de diversa tipología. De ahí que dentro de dicha rama
tomen protagonismo la aerodinámica, la propulsión, la aeroelasticidad o la informática.

La principal finalidad que tiene la Ingenería es entonces la aplicaión de toda clase de técnicas, metodologías y conocimientos
científicos que permitan arribar a una Creación de Estructuras, siendo éstas la base de un Bien o Recurso que posteriormente será
aprovechado por los individuos, buscando que tenga la mayor eficacia posible para la finalidad que ha sido diseñado.

Para poder llevar a cabo dicha tarea se recurre al auxilio de ciencias conocidas como las Matemáticas, la Física o la Química, lo
cual se refleja no solo en la investigación y desarrollo de tecnologías que son utilizadas para la elaboración de nuevos objetos, sino
también en la estabilidad y garantía de funcionamiento de cada una de estas creaciones.

También la Ingeniería se encarga entonces de buscar mejoras y perfeccionamientos a las Técnicas y Tecnologías actualmente
vigentes, siendo por ello una renovación constante que se complementa a los Adelantos Tecnológicos que van surgiendo renovando
constantemente los paradigmas y aserciones.

La ingeniería se define como la creación, modificación y utilización de la tecnología en

complemento con el estudio de todas las ciencias básicas de la vida para satisfacer todas las
necesidades humanas, haciendo así que la ingeniería sea importante en todas las profesiones
existentes. Teniendo en cuenta esto, vemos claramente como ésta se convierte en una disciplina
capaz de ayudar y resolver los problemas actuales de la sociedad, ya que en estos momentos el
mundo es realmente tecnológico. Un ejemplo claro de este concepto es el suplemento del
esfuerzo físico de las personas para realizar trabajos, que poco a poco han sido reemplazados por
máquinas y toda clase de artefactos tecnológicos.

La ingeniería es una ciencia muy amplia, por lo que se divide en distintas ramas, para la facilidad
de su estudio. Dentro de estas ramas, encontramos las siguientes ingenierías: naval, referente a la
construcción y planificación de los materiales flotantes; de sistemas, que se trata de la aplicación
de conceptos matemáticos y físicos para crear programas y sistemas que permitan resolver
problemas a la humanidad; agrícola, basada en el estudio, desarrollo, supervisión, tecnificación de
todo el sector agrícola, para su mayor rendimiento a la hora de producir; civil, encargada del
mantenimiento y control de lo que se ha construido; industrial; eléctrica.etc. Aunque no hemos
mencionado todas las ramas de la ingeniería, vemos que hay gran variedad de ellas y que son
básicas para el sostenimiento humano, lo que nos conlleva a pensar que es indispensable y que la
podremos encontrar en cualquier campo que se requiera. La importancia que tiene la ingeniería
no solo es grande, es infinita, ya que día a día la tecnología seguirá aumentando, el desarrollo
crecerá y mientras haya crecimiento hay ingeniería, porque siempre tendrá que haber algo que
ingeniar, crear, planificar y controlar, y allí siempre estará esta ciencia. Ser ingeniero y
capacitarnos en una rama de ésta es algo que debemos valorar, ya que en el futuro seremos
nosotros quienes estemos implementando nuevas ideas que den vuelta al mundo, y que ayuden a
una mejor calidad de vida para el universo. La ingeniería no solo posee ramas, también contiene
campos en los que se desempeña haciendo que su importancia sea cada vez mayor. Entre estos
encontramos todo lo relacionado con las ingenierías del mar, dándonos a conocer todas las cosas
referentes a la producción, construcción y posibilidades de creación de muchas cosas que aún no
hemos descubierto acerca del mar. De igual forma, encontramos la ingeniería en el campo de la
tierra, mostrándonos todas las ingenierías provenientes de la satisfacción de las necesidades de
los seres humanos. También encontramos la ingeniería desempeñada en el aire, que surge a partir
de la invención de un medio de transporte como lo es el avión, y de aquí parte la ingeniería para el
mantenimiento y mejoría de estos vehículos, para que cada día su utilización sea mejor. La
ingeniería en el espacio, nos da a conocer nuevos y mejores inventos para conocer todas las cosas
que existen en el universo, y estudiarlas a fondo. Sin embargo existen muchos otros campos en los
cuales se desempeña la ingeniería como por ejemplo en el diseño, en la administración, derivadas
de la física y de la química, etc. Y dentro de estos campos, muchísimas ramas de la ingeniería. Con
ayuda de toda esta información, deducimos que la ingeniería es una de las bases de la vida, desde
el inicio hasta los días actuales de la humanidad, ya que nos ha aportado muchísimas cosas de
gran valor para el desarrollo de los seres humanos y de la sociedad, debido a que con su ayuda
hemos descubierto grandes inventos que nos han ayudado a satisfacer todas nuestras necesidades
y a minimizar el esfuerzo físico de todas las personas. Cuando hablamos de disminuir el esfuerzo,
nos referimos al gran cambio que se realizó desde la revolución industrial, y que ha afectado a
todas las personas hasta hoy, ya que las máquinas han suplido todo el trabajo que se realizaban
anteriormente a través de la mano de obra, pero sin embargo, la ingeniería no solo se quedo con
la invención de estas máquinas, sino que siguió dedicándose a la mejoría de estas máquinas en
cuanto a tamaño; así mismo a su mantenimiento y manejo. Teniendo en cuenta toda esta
información, podemos concluir que la ingeniería es una parte fundamental del universo, y que no
solo se ha quedado en ingenio, sino en manejo y mantenimiento de todas las cosas que se han
creado. Y sus estudios han ido mucho más allá de lo que se requiere en la sociedad como tal, ya
que también se ha dedicado a las cosas referentes al mar y al espacio, con el fin de darnos a
conocer todo lo que desconocemos en el universo. Por esto, la ingeniería sigue y seguirá
creciendo, debido a su estrecha relación con el mundo, lo que nos dice, que mientras haya vida,
hay ingeniería.

ideas that turn the world, and to help better quality of life for the universe.

Among these we find everything related to engineering the sea, letting us know all things concerning
production, construction and building possibilities are many things that we have not yet discovered on the
sea.

Similarly, we find engineering in the field of the earth, showing us all engineering from meeting the needs of
human beings.

We also found the engineering performed in the air, which arises from the invention of a means of transport
such as the plane, and hence part engineering for maintenance and improvement of these vehicles, so that
each day use better.

Engineering in space reveals new and better inventions to know all the things that exist in the universe, and
study them thoroughly. However there are many other fields in which engineering works such as in the

Given all this information, we can conclude that engineering is a fundamental part of the universe, and that
