GJC’s reaccreditation: A success!

ACSCU-AAI invites
GJC to apply for Lvl 4

General de Jesus College was given Accreditation Level III once again by the Association of
Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities – Accrediting Agency Incorporated (ACSCU-AAI) from
April 2017 to April 20, 2022.
Last March 6 - 10, the accreditors visited the school’s facilities, observed classes, interviewed
faculty, staff, administrators, student leaders, parents, and alumni, and visited and interviewed GJC’s
adopted community in their five-day accreditation period.
Aside from its Level III Accreditation, General de Jesus College was also recognized as one of the
top performing accredited high schools.
The school is reaccredited every five years to assure quality education that is above the required
level by the DepEd.

GJCians bag medals in national talent fair

GJCians once again brought home the bacon as they conquered the 7th National Youth
Leadership Assembly and Talent Fair held last July 27-29 at Teacher’s Camp, Baguio City.
Twenty-nine schools from all over the country competed in the said competition of the
Association of Philippine Private School Administrators and Mentors (APPSAM) with this year’s
theme “Youth Leadership: Changing Needs for the Changing Times”.
GJCians showcased their talents in group contests as they emerged champions in the sabayang
pagbigkas competition, winning their third title in a row in the national stage. GJC Dance Troupe also
bagged 1st place in the hiphop dance contest while finishing 3rd in the folk dance competition.
In individual categories, the winners were Mickyla Kate Jose, 1st place in Pagsulat ng Sanaysay;
Kathleen Mitch Alberto, 2nd in Pagbigkas ng Tula; Ron Joseph Samonte, 2nd in Science Quiz Bee;
Anne Czarina Ami, 2nd place in Madamdaming Pagbasa; Mira Faith Lalo, 3rd place in Biglaang
Talumpati; Ernest Juvert Tolentino, 5th place in General Information; and Pearl Milliscent Pascual,
5th place in Declamation Contest.
General De Jesus College also grabbed the biggest delegation for having 58 students and 6
teachers who joined the said assembly.
GJC rules Talent Fair

GJCians bagged awards in the Nueva Ecija Private Secondary Schools Administrators
Association (NEPRISSAA) Talent Fair last September 27 at Dr. Gloria Lacson Colleges Foundation.
The said talent fair aims to showcase the talents of the students, to meet new friends, and to have
new experiences. More than 10 private schools from the Congressional District IV participated in the
said event. The talent fair includes different contests such as Balagtasan, Vocal Solo, Sabayang
Pagbigkas, Modern Dance, and Folk Dance.
The winners in the said contests were: Patricia Anne Paez, Japhet Avila, and Czarina Ami
(Champion in Balagtasan); Joseph Emmanuel Resano, Godwin Aaron Eugenio, Teejay Ciriaco, Heinz
Neil Maandig, Raphael Sebastian, John Angelo Santos, Jordan Neil Sta. Maria, Kevin Adelantar,
Edward Pablo, Aldrich Tolentino, Rocel Joy Asuncion, Jeverlhyn Pallarca, Kaye Crystel Francia, Lucy
Jane Gadaingan, Jullana Mae Magtalas, Hannah Ella Marie Galang, Kate De Guzman, Katrina
Leonardo, Leshiel Daling, and Nicole Angelique Pangilinan (Champion in Sabayang Pagbigkas);
Lawrenz Jem Manuel (1st runner up in Vocal Solo); Klark Gener Gatbunton, Jhumel Vallarta, Xyrus
Wilmar Galang, Maria Therese Madiz, Georlene Mae Chua, Cristine Joyce Garcia, Jharry Margaret
Fernando, Diana Khyle Padullo, Ma. Allaiza Therese Gabut (3rd runner up in Modern Dance); and
Mark Allyson Ortiz,Vinze Janxent Virgines, Von Deiro Binuya, Carl Stephen Reyes, Alfrancis Jose,
Charmane Morelos, Maribel Ellaine Bal, Kathleen Ann Nagayo, Cinzana Ragaza, Trishia Irish Barioga
(4th runner up in Folk Dance).
Participants in Sabayang Pagbigkas, Balagtasan, and Vocal Solo will compete for the Division level in
December.

GJC bags awards in SHS Talent Fair

GJCians bagged awards in the 1st NEPRISSAA Senior High School Talent Fair Division Level
held at the Dr. Gloria D. Lacson Foundation Colleges last October 12.
The students of GJC showcased their talents in two different categories, Radio Drama and
Modern Dance where 13 different schools competed for the title.
Members of GJC Dance Troupe, consisting of Vil Daril Santos, Mark Jimwell Cruz, John Rhay
Bundalian, John Paulo Eleazar, James Cucio, Cholo Cortez, Patricia Usita, Janine Fatima Bodegas,
Anna Joy Francisco, and Ma. Theresa Ortiz, emerged as champions in the modern dance competition.
The radio drama team which includes Maica Cruz, Bea Taberna, Hana Joy Castro, Jayson Garcia,
Melor Isles, Christian De Guzman, Ron Joseph Samonte, and Allen Sebastian won 1st runner-up in
the said category.
With only two entries, GJC ranked 3rd in the overall ranking in the said competition. The Talent Fair
also featured Dance Sports and Folk Dance Competition.
‘Generals’ bags
2nd overall title
in CD-IV Sports Fest

In the spirit of good fellowship and sportsmanship, General de Jesus College earned the 2nd place
in the CD-IV Nueva Ecija Private Secondary Schools Administrators Association (NEPRISSAA) annual
Sports Festival held at GJC and Blessed Children Integrated School (BCIS) last August 23 and
September 8.
The program started with the opening parade of varsity players from different schools who
cheered and represented their teams followed by the lighting of torch.
After the battle, here are the winners for the different categories in the competition;
For Badminton, and Chess competition, Ralph Delos Reyes (Single B, Rome Arc Philippe Magno
and Roel Francis Yambot (Doubles), Joanne Lagat (Single A), Aldrich Tolentino (Board 2), Cyanna
Joane Trinidad (Board 1), and Angelica Flores (Board 2) emerged as champions.
For Scrabble, Nicole Angelique Pangilinan with Frans Angeline Yakit won the championship
title.
For Table Tennis, 1st runner-up, Kyle Elijah Dela Cruz (Single B).
Lucy Jane Gadaingan and Jordan Neil Sta. Maria gained 2nd runner-up in Word Factory.
For Basketball, Jay Amurao, Junjun Franco, Janell Abanilla, Alex Mandap, Joshua Cabanella,
Lester de Guzman, Louie Lorenzo, Alonzo Francisco, Jonathan Espinoza, Von Binuya, Lharsen
Miranda and John Adrian Santos won third place. The volleyball team of boys defeated San Antonio
High School and grabbed the third place. Players were Ryan Angelo Castro, Alfrancis Jose, Ivan
Castro, Mark Allyson Ortiz, Leo Tecson, Kim Arthur Cruz, Joshua Junia, Dann Gascon, Ivan Vijar,
Dave Yanga, Yvan Magno, and Pojek Salvador.
The winners will be competing in the division level of the competition.

ATHLETIC MEETS

Saluting GJC Generals marched off with their heads held high as they dominated in the annual
Athletic Meets held last September 5, 13 and 29 - 30.
CD-IV Meet
Recently, the GJC Badminton team conquered the CD-IV Meet in General Tinio National High
School on September 29 - 30 as Ralph Dhieniel Delos Reyes (Singles B, 1st Runner-up), Rome Arc
Philippe Magno and Roel Francis Yambot (Doubles, Champion), Joanne Lagat (Singles B, Champion),
Margarita Pineda and Marjorie Peralta (Doubles, Champion) clashed with their formidable
opponents in Congressional District 4.
Meanwhile, Richard Ian Ramos won 1st-runner up in the chess category.
Magno, Yambot, Lagat, Pineda, Peralta and Ramos will advance to the upcoming Provincial Meet
in Palayan City on November 9 - 10.
Dual Meet
Previously, the said athletes garnered gold medals at the Dual Meet held in Cabiao National
High School (CNHS) on September 3.
Other winners in the said Dual Meet were Dannah Lores (Badminton Singles A, Champion),
Angelica Flores (Chess Board 2, Champion), and the Volleyball-Girls team (Champion).
The volleyball-girls team was composed of Carisse Fuller, Catherine Ariola, Jazmaine Sebastian,
Jiasmin Tiqui, KC Montarde, Lana Senal, Lisette Muncal, Erika Bulo, and Shaira Dayao.
San Isidro District Meet
These athletes led the Generals to dominate the San Isidro District Meet in Nueva Ecija
University of Science & Technology (NEUST) on September 3.
Other winners in the District Meet were Cyanna Joane Trinidad (Chess Board 1, Champion),
Cyber Jay Fernandez (Badminton Single A, Champion, volleyball-boys team (Champion) and the
basketball team (Champion).
The volleyball-boys team consisted of Cholo Cortez, Jericho Sicat, Jenkins Mesina, Ivan Castro,
Ryan Castro, Carlo Galang, Paul Fernando, Leo Tecson, Ace Mungcal, Robert Ortiz, Carlo Celestial,
and Jerome Tolentino.
The basketball team comprised Mark Anthony Pingol, Nel Ivan Batungbakal, Carlo Capinpin,
Erickson Ison, Bricks Emata, Laurence James Capili, Mark Jhustine Bitangcol, Raymond Roxas, Glenn
Timothy Biscocho, Renz Sevilla, Erwin Mercado, and Thomas Canlas.
GJC rules Academic Olympiad

GJCians were once again declared as the overall champion during the NEPRISSAA Academic
Olympiad held last November 15 at Sta. Isabel Montessori School, San Antonio, N.E.
Different private schools from CD-IV competed in the said contest, but GJCians did not fail to
showcase their wit as they all emerged as winners.
GJC dominated the Math Quiz Bee as Vince Marvic Pelayo (Grade 7) won 1st place; Deiward
Ocampo (Grade 8 ), 1st place; Cyanna Joanne Trinidad (Grade 9), 2nd place; and Kathleen Ann Nagayo
(Grade 10), 1st place.
In the Science competition, the winners were Jillian Mariel Padua (Grade 7), 1st place; Kim Arthur
Cruz (Grade 8 ), 4th place; Carl Stephen Reyes (Grade 9), 6th place; and Mikaela Mae Agapito (Grade
10), 3rd place.
The winners in the English category were Zylene Shaygren Salas (Grade 7), 3rd place; Eunice
Layne Agco (Grade 8 ), 1st place; Jordan Neil Sta. Maria (Grade 9), 1st place; and Joseph Emmanuel
Resano (Grade 10), 1st place.

in CLRAA 2018

GJCians bagged medals in the Nueva Ecija Athletic Association (NECAA) and claimed a berth in
the Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association Meet (CLRAA) last November 9-10.
The GJC Badminton Team dominated the NECAA as Joanne Lagat (Single B, Champion),
Margarita Pineda and Marjorie Peralta (Doubles, Champion) and Rome Arc Philippe Magno and
Roel Yambot (Doubles, 3rd runner-up) battled with their opponents at Power Smash, Cabanatuan
City.
Meanwhile, Richard Ian Ramos won 2nd place in the chess category held at Palayan Central
School and Lian Crystal Gregorio grabbed 2 bronze medals in swimming.
Lagat, Peralta, Pineda, and Ramos will advance to the CLRAA to be held in Malolos, Bulacan in
February 2018.

Administrators Association (NEPRISSAA) division-level Senior High School Sports Fest held at
Bongabon Essential School last October 23.
Here are the players who emerged as victors:
For Volleyball Boys, Ron Joseph Samonte, Cholo Cortez, Christian Paul Fernando, Jericho Sicat,
Jolo Sicat, Jerome Tolentino, Ace Mungcal, Jenkins Mesina, John Carlo Celestial, Von Gerald Oropesa,
Robert Ortiz, and John Carlo Galang won third place.
For Badminton and Chess competition, Marjorie Peralta (Single A, 2nd runner-up), Marjorie
Peralta and Keith Malaluan (Doubles, Champion) and Bryan Israel Torres (Board 2, 1st runner-up).
For Table Tennis, Karlo Garcia (Single A, Champion), Ron Vasquez (Single B, 2nd runner-up),
Prince Ronald San Pedro and Angelo Pangilinan (Doubles, Champion), Anne Reinalee Melosantos
(Single B, Champion) and Ma. Kristina Paguio and Ezra Mae Dimapawi (Doubles, Champion).
John Alfred Miranda with Mohammad Rashid Punut won 1st runner-up in Word Factory while,
Anna Camille Manarang and Kenneth Bryan Javier grabbed the championship title for Scrabble.

Champion), Rome Arc Philippe Magno and Roel Yambot (Doubles, Champions), and Joanne Lagat
(Single A, Champion) battled with their formidable opponents.
Meanwhile, Angelica Flores won 2nd runner-up in the chess category.
