9. The Zener diode used in the regulator circuit shown has the following specifications (7.5 V
at 12 mA, rz = 30 Ω and Izk = 0.5 mA). The regulator operates from a 10 V supply and has a
1.2 k Ω load. (10 marks)
a. What is the value of R if the output voltage is 8 V?
b. What is the smallest value of the load resistor value that can be used to ensure that
regulation is not lost in the circuit (assume ‘R’ is kept the same)?
c. If there is voltage fluctuation and the supply voltage increases by 10%, find the change
in the output voltage.
