Glot Towak Elementary School
INTRODUCTION:
In the pursue of the Deped Order No. 35, s. 2015 known as THE LEARNING ACTION CELL AS A K
TO 12 BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAM SCHOOL-BASED CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF TEACHING AND LEARNING, the Glot
Towak Elementary School teaching staff conducted the first LAC session on July 15, 2016.
The one day activity focuses on the problems encountered by the teacher during the teaching
process and setting the priority area that needs immediate action in order to improve the
teaching-learning practices inside the classroom. The teachers then finally come up with
prioritizing the reading development of pupils due to increased rate of non-readers in Grades 4-
6.
ACCOMPLISHMENT:
As a solution, the teachers agreed to conduct remedial classes in reading and arranged
schedules for home visitation to pupils that needed follow-up and monitoring.
In the afternoon session of LAC, the teachers utilized the time in making and presenting
instructional materials and teaching aids for reading development to be used during the
remedial classes in reading.
PROBLEMS MET:
During the discussion regarding the making of instructional materials, the problems met are the
availability of printers for volume printing.
RECOMMENDATION/SUGGESTION:
However, we suggested that the teachers who don’t have laptop and personal printers must be
prioritized in using the office’s printer and the school principal allocated budget for reams of
bond paper and printer ink for those who have voluntarily offered their personal printers to be
used in printing the materials.
