b) Incremental fuel cost in Rupees per megawatt hour for two units comprising a plant
are given by the following equations.
Assume that both units are operating at all times, the total load varies from 50 to 250
HW, and the maximum and minimum loads on each unit are to be 125 MW and
20MW respectively.
Find the incremental fuel cost and allocation of loads between units for minimum cost
of various loads.

full load efficiency = 0.87 and ratio of pole arc to pole pitch = 0.66.

specific magnetic loading is 0.6 Wb/m2 and specific electric loading is 34000 A/m.
Use circular poles with ratio of core length to pole pitch = 0.65. Specify the type of
pole construction used if run-away speed is about 2 times the normal speed.
