OBJECTIVE

To begin my career in physical therapy with an entry level job in the field of outpatient sports and/or
orthopedics.

EXPERIENCE

Student clinical • University of North Carolina Hospitals • Four weeks from 12/9/2016 – 8/13/2017
This was a group experience with three other students and one clinical instructor. For the first two weeks,
we were primarily in the cardiothoracic ICU performing evaluations and interventions with patients who
were immediately postoperative. The final two weeks were spent with patients who were postoperative
knee and hip arthroplasty. My role included supervised patient education, evaluation, intervention,
discharge planning, and documentation.

Student clinical • Lenox Baker Children’s Hospital • Three weeks from 12/8/2017 – 4/20/2018
This was a group experience with three other students and one clinical instructor. My time was spent with
the adult neurological population and included aquatic therapy among other interventions. My role
included supervised patient education, evaluation, intervention, and documentation.

EDUCATION

LEADERSHIP AND VOLUNTEERING

 Duke DPT Class Treasurer • 1/24/2017 – present

o Was elected by my peers to serve as class treasurer for the entirety of our time in school.
My duties include managing the classes money by working with gear sale chairs,
fundraising groups, and maintaining an active fund code. I also attend monthly meetings
with faculty and the other class officers.

 Functional Movement Screening (FMS) • 3/21/2017 - present


o Participated in bimonthly FMS at a local non-profit called Triangle Residential Options for
Substance Abusers. Under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, I screened new
residents for movement dysfunctions and pain generators and gave them exercises and
pain management strategies in order to improve their general mobility.

 Inter-professional Education Clinic • 4/25/2017

o Volunteered to work in the Duke University Hospital emergency department with students
from MD and PA programs to allow patients to be seen sooner and provide an
interdisciplinary evaluation of an acute patient.

 Duke Soccer Outreach • 1/5/2017

o Ran baseline concussion protocol (SCAT-5) on high school-aged, female, club soccer
players.

 Habitat for Humanity • 12/3/2016 - present

o Helped on four separate occasions to aid in the completion of building new homes for local
applicants to the program. Used skills from my woodworking hobby to help a great
organization.
