It was raining very heavily one day. With only a small group of children, we decided to play inside, staying warm and cosy. Zeynap and Maryam were playing family. They were pretending to be mommy and sister, taking care of baby dolls and using the kitchen set to cook their meals. While Zeynap was lying down beside the baby, she found a sheet of stickers underneath the cabinet nearby. She remembered that Teacher Isra always give them stickers or stamp everytime they recite some short surahs from the Quran. So she decided to pretend being a teacher. “I’ll be the teacher, and you be the children. Who can recite surah, i’ll give you stickers?” Omar and Mohammad decided to play along. They were shouting, “me!me!”,anticipating to recite surah and receive some stickers from Zeynap. “Don’t shout me!me! You have to put your hands up like this”, said Zeynap while putting her hand up to demonstrate the right way to respond to a teacher. The children take turns reading surah while Zeynap was listening to them. After they have recite surah, Zeynap put stickers on their hands and praised them,“Good job”. Soon after, it was Omar’s turn. He came closer to Zeynap and started to recite surah al ikhlas. She can hear that he was struggling to recite, she helped by correcting him and encourage him to recite it again. After everyone had their turn, Zeynap decided to recite surah and gave herself some sticker to reward herself. Masha Allah it was really amazing to observe this situation. Zeynap was very confident being the teacher. She was able to recognise the concept of giving stickers as a reward after observing the teachers doing it. She treated the others fairly, making sure that everyone got some stickers. In a hadith, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:
“None of you truly believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself” (Forty Hadith-Nawawi)
