(skimming, reading for specific information)
- to answer the comprehension questions correctly

Motivation

 The purpose of the lesson is to consolidate the students’ knowledge and develop their
writing, reading and speaking skills
 The methodology used:
 involves the students in the teaching process
 gives an active character to the lesson
 gives students the possibility to work individually and in pairs
 allows the teacher to act as a guide and a mediator
 leads to the development of understanding, analysing, motivating, synthesising
skills.

Pre-reading (estimated time 6’)

travels and whether they have heard about the dog Laika.
Next, the teacher asks the students to look at exercise one, read the new words and explain
the meaning of unknown one, while further trying to anticipate the subject of the text.

Reading (estimated time 20’)

(Teacher – students interaction)The teacher asks the students to quickly skim the text and, in
pairs, answer the questions in exercise 9. (students – teacher interaction)
Next, the teacher asks the students to listen once to the text being read and then read in detail
and solve exercise 10.

Post-reading (estimated time 18')


(Teacher – students interaction)The teacher ask the students, in pairs, to try and answer
whether the statements in exercise 11 are true or false. (student-student interaction)Where they are
false, the students have to find and provide the correct information in the text. (students – teacher

Then, the teacher asks the students, individually, to try and think to potential ways to change
the end of the text (students – teacher interaction)
