FINDINGS, SUGGESTION AND CONCLUSION

5.1 FINDINGS

 Majority of the respondents (56.7%) are female


 Majority of the respondents (65.8%) are unmarried
 Majority of the respondents (62.5%) belong to the age group of 20-25
 Majority of the respondents (38.3%) are diploma holders
 Majority of the respondents (37.5%) are below one year of experience
 Majority of the respondents (43.3%) earn between 7500 to 10000
 Majority of the respondents (66.7%) agree all employees are trained in 5s
 Majority of the respondents (67.5%) agree all employees follow 5S
 Majority of the respondents (56.7%) agree all employees participate in devising their
check sheet before starting their work
 Majority of the respondents (69.2%) agree 5S practices are documented
 Majority of the respondents (75.0%) agree 5S ensures safety
 Majority of the respondents (75.0%) agree 5S makes work flow easier
 Majority of the respondents(72.5%) agree 5S helps to achieve target production
 Majority of the respondents (72.5 %) agree 5S helps to attain increased profit
 Majority of the respondents (70.8%) agree 5S provides cleanliness in workplace
 Majority of the respondents(53.3%) agree 5S increases standard of living
 Majority of the respondents (38.3%) agree 5S implementation is difficult in all areas
 Majority of the respondents (48.3%) disagree to 5S maintenance is difficult
 Majority of the respondents(70.0%) are satisfied with their individual performance
 Majority of the respondents(72.5%) are satisfied with their organizational performance
 Majority of the respondents(67.5%) agree productivity of the organization improves year
by year
 Majority of the respondents(65.0%) agree additional training on 5S is needed
 Majority of the respondents (68.3%) are satisfied with overall performance regarding 5S
 Majority of the respondents (56.7%) state 5S is a must follow able approach
 From the Friedman test it is found that 5S contributes much in producing quality goods
 From Chi-square test it is found that there is association between training and overall
satisfaction level regarding 5S
 From Chi-square test it is found that there is association between additional training and
productivity
 From ANOVA test it is found that there is a significance difference between training and
overall satisfaction level on 5S
 From ANOVA test it is found that there is a significance difference between productivity
and overall satisfaction level on 5S
 From Correlation it is found that there is a significance difference between overall
satisfaction level on 5s and individual, organizational performances and productivity.
5.2 SUGGESTION

 Awareness programs on 5s can be provided to the employees to understand the process


best.
 Additional training can be allotted so that it may benefit both the employees and
organization mutually.
 Employees are to be trained and treated well to have a good bond with the organization,
so that their satisfaction level regarding the organization improves which gradually
improves the productivity.
5.3 CONCLUSION

This study was carried out for salzer industries to make a study on effectiveness of 5S practices
on organization performance and employee performance and found that 5S has a positive impact
on the organization performance and employee performance and 5S practices effectively
improves the productivity of the organization.
The study also reveals that satisfaction level of majority of the employees regarding the
employee performance and organization performance is higher that which mutually helps to have
a higher productivity rate .
