Plan for distribution/cleanup of materials:

I will hand out worksheets to one student from each table to distribute to their tablemates. After
the lesson, students will put completed worksheets in mailboxes. Pencils/crayons are in their
desks. Bins with counters will be placed at each table and collected at the end.

Step by Step plan:

1. Lesson beginning: I will start by calling the students by table to make a cluster on the
rug. I will ask a volunteer to remind us what we what we’ve done so far with patterns. I
will recap the previous lessons.
2. Using the doc. cam, I will model the worksheet; drawing the patterns, repeating them 3
times, circling my core, etc.
3. I will tell them that on the back they can draw and label another complex pattern and wait
to have their paper starred and then to put it in their mailboxes.

4. I will ask if there are any questions and remind them to get out a pencil and their crayons
(remind them no markers). Then, I will hand one member of each table the worksheets
for their tablemates and I will remind everyone that if they need help they can raise their
hand and Mrs. Cortina, Mrs. Tindle, or I will be walking around. I will dismiss everyone
back to their seats to complete worksheet and remind them that their voices should be at
level 0.
5. Closure

Closure:
I will call everyone’s attention back and ask for everything to be cleared off their desks. Starred
papers should go in their mailboxes. I will distribute bingo mats/counters and we will play name
bingo after everyone finishes the worksheet.

Logistics:
Timing: 40 minutes
- lesson beginning: 5 minutes
-modeling worksheet: 10 minutes
-student work 10 minutes
-name bingo-15 minutes

Transitions: Students will be called to the rug and back to their seats by table. I will use
“1, 2, 3 eyes on me” before giving directions. I will also use “If you can hear me put your hands
on your head” to gain attention when necessary.

Classroom Management: I will remind students to work quietly and will give noise
warnings if necessary.
Differentiation: If any student needs help, teachers will walk around the room to assist.
Mrs. Cortina will mainly work with Cameron. Maya will be with Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Tindle
will be in the room assisting as well. Early finishers can read quietly.
