Class Description: Enjoy insightful instruction and experimentation while learning the
fundamentals of watercolor painting. Using traditional methods, you will learn the basic techniques
that are specific to this medium. One will be instructed how to use color compliments to gain more
visual power and balanced excitement to one's work. Becoming more fluid, fresh and transparent in
your color mixes will be an emphasize in this course. There will be plenty of individual attention,
critiques, corrective techniques and demonstrations. The instructor will provide step-by-step
approaches from beginning to completion of the entire painting process. Subjects painted will
mainly be landscapes and some prior experience in drawing and watercolor painting
would be helpful but not required.

Outline: Class will begin at 9:30AM with an hour spent on

artist lecture and demonstration. Students will be given
instructional material to guide their creative learning. A break
for lunch will be taken at 12:00PM. Students will return to
continue with their assigned painting which will be
accompanied by guidance from the instructor for each
student throughout the afternoon sessions. Each day a
twenty-minute session will be reserved for critiques. Each
student is encouraged to participate by submitting their piece
for review. Join us for two full days of relaxing fun!

Note to Students:
You must register and pay in advance to reserve your seat in the
class. SASi accepts cash, check and credit cards. Your space is not
confirmed until fee is paid. Class size and seating are limited.
Please Arrive Early for your class so the instructor may start on time.
Doors open ½ hour prior to class for you to set up. Be aware of time for
lunch breaks. Always be respectful of other students and limit
interruptions during class. During class, Please turn your cell phone
ringer off and take important calls outside of the classroom.
