Dear Ma’am:

Colonia Divina Integrated School is one of your Senior High Schools that offers Technical-
Vocational-Livelihood Track with Strand in Agri-Fishery Arts and Home Economics. After the
almost two-years of implementation of Senior High School, we have noticed that our specialization
offered in Home Economics are misaligned. Currently we have the following offerings for Grade
11 and 12 under one course/specialization:

Grade 11 1st Sem Grade 11 2nd Sem Grade 12 1st Sem Grade 12 2md Sem
Bread & Pastry NCII Wellness Massage Food & Beverage Beauty & Nail Care
NCII Servicing NCII NCII

Based on our current offerings, we are facing the following problems:

1. There is a shift of skills from cooking to body wellness that results to lack of focus and
mastery in each skill.
2. Students who are taking Bread & Pastry are required to take Wellness Massage in the 2nd
Semester in Grade 11 even they don’t want or like it and the same will happen also to
Grade 12.
3. Most of our boys enrolled in Bread & Pastry and some girls where their skills are not in
body wellness are not participating and sometimes not attending classes in Wellness
Massage and Beauty & Nail Care. They are just attending the class for the sake of
attendance.
4. Based on our survey from our SHS students and from our incoming Grade 11 students
next school year, there is only less than 5 students per grade level who wants Wellness
Massage or Beauty and Nail Care.
5. It is already a pattern in our SHS enrollment that we only get 50% or less from our own
Grade 10 completers due to most of the courses that they want are not in our school.

In connection to that, we are asking from your office the following possible solution:
Solution 1: Separate the Bread & Pastry NCII and the Food & Beverage Servicing NCII from
Wellness Massage NCII and Beauty & Nail Care NCII. Example below:

Specialization Package 1:
Grade 11 1st Sem Grade 11 2nd Sem Grade 12 1st Sem Grade 12 2md Sem
Commercial Cooking Commercial Cooking Bread & Pastry NCII Food & Beverage
NCII NCII Servicing NCII

Specialization Package 2:

Wellness Massage Beauty & Nail Care Hairdressing NC II Hairdressing NC II
NCII NCII

Aside from the mentioned offering above, we would like to do some correction to our Agri-Fishery
Arts Strand. Currently in our LIS it appeared as Agricultural Crop Production NCI and Landscape
Installation and Maintenance NCII but the school are teaching and training our SHS students in
Organic Agriculture NCII and Pest Management NCII. Based on our assessment, this problem
arises due to the following reasons:
1. The school submitted or applied to offer Organic Agriculture NCII and not Agricultural Crop
Production NCI.
2. Agricultural Crop Production NCII was offered in our Junior High School and we can’t offer
Agricultural Crop Production NCI in Senior High School.
3. The school doesn’t have equipment, materials and resources for Landscape Installation
and Maintenance.
4. Pest Management is more suitable to pair with Organic Agriculture.

In connection to that, we would like to ask from your office to change our offerings in Agri-
Fishery Arts Strand from Agricultural Crop Production NCI to Organic Agriculture NCII and
from Landscape Installation & Maintenance NCII to Pest Management NCII.

We are looking forward for your positive response or other suggestions to address this problem.
If you have further questions or clarifications, you may contact us any time at +639076202171 or
at any of the contacts below.

Thank you so much!

Sincerely,

JOHN ARGIEL L. VICTOR
