Stanley M. Shapshay, MD, FACS has served as the Secretaries Liaison
Committee (SLC) Chair for the past 8 years, overseeing COSM and
encouraging collaboration and consensus between Societies. Dr. Shapshay
is a passionate teacher, leader, and pioneer in the field. He is a Past President
of the American Broncho-Esophagological Association, the American
Laryngological Association, and the Triological Society. He established the
design and use of rigid bronchoscopic equipment and laser technology over
the past 35 years and has published over 195 peer reviewed publications,
31 book chapters, two books, and two patents. Dr. Shapshay currently
teaches at Albany Medical College. At the conclusion of COSM, Dr. Shapshay
will pass the reins to Chair-Elect, Gregory Grillone, MD, FACS.
