Vlan 26 – Internet service
Vlan 27 – VOIP service
Vlan 28 – IPTV service
QOS Plan
Service type 802.1p Priority GEM port T-CONT DBA type

Internet 0 14 4 Type 3
DBA type – Type 3 (DBA pro le: assured bandwidth + maximum bandwidth. Users are allowed to
preempt the bandwidth on condition that the users’ assured bandwidth is guaranteed. However, the
total bandwidth cannot exceed the maximum bandwidth.)
Rate limit on OLT downstream – Rate limit can be con gured for Internet service using tra c table but
its recommended to do it on BRAS/BNG.

1. Adding VLANs to Uplink port

OLT con guration
1. Adding VLANs to Uplink port

Connect one of the uplinks to you network. Check uplink board slot id by runing display board 0.
In my case ID is 9, run display board 0/9 to check which port is up
As you see port GE 0 is up . First we need to create our VLANs.

NGCOM-OLT(con g)#vlan 25 to 28 smart
You can also add description to your VLANs
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#vlan desc 25 description MANAGEMENT
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#vlan desc 26 description INTERNET
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#vlan desc 27 description VOIP
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#vlan desc 28 description IPTV
Now we need to add VLANs to uplink port.
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#port vlan 25 to 28 0/9 0
2. Adding tra c table for each service
Next step is create tra c tables for each service
To create tra c table for internet service with name HSI-10mb, rate limit 10mbps and 802.1p priority
according to our QOS plan run:
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#tra c table ip name HSI-10mb cir 10240 priority 0 priority-policy local-Setting
It is recommended to do rate limit on your BRAS/BNG so in this case run:

NGCOM-OLT(con g)#tra c table ip name HSI cir o priority 0 priority-policy local-Setting
To create tra c table for VOIP service with name VOICE and 802.1p priority according to our QOS plan
run:
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#tra c table ip name VOICE cir o priority 5 priority-policy local-Setting
To create tra c table for IPTV service with name IPTV and 802.1p priority according to our QOS plan
run:
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#tra c table ip name IPTV cir o priority 4 priority-policy local-Setting
3. Adding DBA pro le
Now we need to create DBA pro le for di erent type of services. Pro le name will be ftth_dba type 3
with assured bandwidth 8 mbps and maximum bandwidth 20 mbps
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#dba-pro le add pro le-name ftth_dba type3 assure 8192 max 20480
The DBA implementation is based on an ONT. Therefore, select a DBA pro le of the proper bandwidth
type and con gure proper bandwidth according to the service types and total user count of the ONT.
Note that the sum of the xed bandwidth and the assured bandwidth must not be greater than the total
bandwidth of the PON port.
4. Adding ONT line pro le

To create ONT line pro le and bind it to dba pro le run:
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#ont-linepro le gpon pro le-name ftth
NGCOM-OLT(con g-gpon-linepro le-1)#tcont 4 dba-pro le-name ftth_dba
To create GEM ports for our services according to our plan run:
NGCOM-OLT(con g-gpon-linepro le-1)#gem add 11 eth tcont 4
To map GEM ports to appropriate VLANs run:
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#ont-linepro le gpon pro le-name ftth
NGCOM-OLT(con g-gpon-linepro le-1)#gem mapping 11 0 vlan 25
NGCOM-OLT(con g-gpon-linepro le-1)#commit
NGCOM-OLT(con g-gpon-linepro le-1)#quit
5. Adding ONT service pro le
To create ONT service pro le with name ftth according to our gateway ONT type (in my case HG8346M
with 4 ethernet and 2 pots ports) run:
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#ont-srvpro le gpon pro le-name ftth
NGCOM-OLT(con g-gpon-srvpro le-1)#ont-port eth adaptive pots adaptive
NGCOM-OLT(con g-gpon-srvpro le-1)#commit
NGCOM-OLT(con g-gpon-srvpro le-1)#quit
6.Adding ONT to OLT

To check GPON board slot ID run display board 0. In my case its 0.
Before adding ONT we need to enable ont-auto- nd feature to ensure that OLT properly discovered
ONT.
To enable ont-auto- nd on port 0 of GPON board 0 run:
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#interface gpon 0/0
NGCOM-OLT(con g-if-gpon-0/0)#port 0 ont-auto- nd enable
To see discovered ONTs run:
NGCOM-OLT(con g-if-gpon-0/0)#display ont auto nd 0
As you see OLT discovered ONT with serial number 4857544326A5EB34, on port 0 of GPON board 0
To add this ONT using ont line pro le ftth and service pro le ftth assinging ont id 7 run:
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#interface gpon 0/0
NGCOM-OLT(con g-if-gpon-0/0)#ont add 0 7 sn-auth 4857544326A5EB34 omci ont-linepro le-name ftth ont-
srvpro le-name ftth desc NGCOM_ONT
To check if ONT properly registered run :
NGCOM-OLT(con g-if-gpon-0/0)#display ont info 0 7
under gpon interface mode
or
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#display ont info 0 0 0 7
under con g mode

0 0 0 7 means frame id / gpon board slot id / port id on gpon board / ont id
Following values indicates that ONT successfully registered

Control ag : active
Run state : online
Con g state : normal
Match state : match
6. Adding ONT service ports for each service

For easy management i advice to allocate service port IDs for each service . For example 1000-1999
Internet service, 2000-2999 VOIP service, 3000-3999 IPTV service, 100-999 for Management purpose
To create service port for Internet service run:
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#service-port 1000 vlan 26 gpon 0/0/0 ont 7 gemport 14 multi-service user-vlan 26
inbound tra c-table name HSI outbound tra c-table name HSI
To create service port for VOIP service run:
inbound tra c-table name VOICE outbound tra c-table name VOICE
To create service port for IPTV service run:
inbound tra c-table name IPTV outbound tra c-table name IPTV
7. VOIP features con guration
Voice media streams for di erent users of the same VLAN fail to interchange because the service ports
of the smart VLAN are isolated from each other. Therefore, the ARP proxy function needs to be enabled
on the OLT.
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#arp proxy enable
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#interface vlanif 27
NGCOM-OLT(con g-if-vlanif27)#arp proxy enable
NGCOM-OLT(con g-if-vlanif27)#quit
8. IPTV features con guration

To con gure multicast service rst of all multicast routing should be enabled. Then in btv mode and
multicast vlan mode appropriate service ports should be added. In my case i use igmp snooping mode
but you can choose also igmp proxy. There are di erent ways to con gure multicast on this OLT it
depends on you requirements. I explained simplest way to do it. So run following commands to
con gure multicast as I explained before.
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#multicast routing-enable
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#btv
NGCOM-OLT(con g-btv)#igmp user add service-port 3000 no-auth
NGCOM-OLT(con g-btv)multicast-vlan 28
NGCOM-OLT(con g-mvlan28)#igmp version v2
NGCOM-OLT(con g-mvlan28)#igmp match mode disable
NGCOM-OLT(con g-mvlan28)#igmp multicast-vlan member service-port 3000
NGCOM-OLT(con g-mvlan28)#igmp mode snooping
NGCOM-OLT(con g-mvlan28)#igmp uplink-port 0/9/0
NGCOM-OLT(con g-mvlan28)#quit
NGCOM-OLT(con g-btv)#quit
NGCOM-OLT(con g)#save

ONT Con guration
1. Con guring Internet service
Connect you PC to ONT lan port and assign ip address to PC network card for this range
192.168.100.X/24
Enter Username: telecomadmin, Password: admintelecom
Go to LAN page, select all checkboxes and click apply.
Go to WAN page and click New. Fill out as shown on the picture below.
Click apply then go to System tools >> Con guration le and click Save.
To verify connection go to Status >> WAN information
To con gure WI-FI go to WLAN page. For security reasons it isn’t recommended to enable WPS
2. Con guring VOIP service
Go to WAN page and click New. Fill out as shown on the picture below .
Next step is to con gure VoIP client setting. As example I will use following info:
VoIP protocol: SIP
SIP server ip address: 1.1.1.1
SIP server port: 5060
SIP extention: 500
SIP username: 500
SIP password: testpass
Fill out this info as shown on picture below. For Signalling and Media ports choose VoIP service was
created on WAN page. For Region choose your country.
Click apply then go to System tools >> Con guration le and click Save
To verify connection go to Status >> VoIP information
3. Con guring IPTV service
Go to WAN page and click New. Fill out as shown on the picture below .
Click apply then go to Network application page to con gure IGMP mode , in my case its snooping
After this go to System tools >> Con guration le and click Save

…without entering the interface context, there is no optical-info option in ont command.

Hi Gent,
I am trying to implement some monitoring using SNMP. Everything looks ok, except the most
important thing for me –
the ONT RX level. When I do snmpwalk on the 1.3.6.1.4.1.2011.6.128.1.1.2.51.1.4 OID, I get numbers
like 4294965849.
The TX level is okay, gives back values like 221, MIB le says that units are 0.01 dBm, so the TX
power is 2,21 dBm which is
right. But what about RX ?
