BlackBerry Installation Guide

System Requirements
1. BlackBerry 7130, 8700, Pearl (81xx), Curve (83xx), 88xx, or later.
2. 10M free memory.
3. PC with BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed. (To download Blackberry
Desktop Manager, please visit
http://www.blackberry.com/products/software/desktop/index.shtml)

To install HNHSoft English-Chinese Dictionary, you have two options: (1) Install
Over the Air (OTA), or (2) Install via BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

Install Over the Air (OTA)

1. Make sure your device has a data plan.
2. From the browser on your BlackBerry device, visit www.HNHSoft.com/ota
3. Follow the on-screen instruction to install the dictionary program.
4. Launch the dictionary program on your BlackBerry.
5. From the menu, select “Dict Download”.
6. Follow the on-screen instruction to download one or more dictionaries.

WARNING: OTA installation may result in data usage charges from your wireless
carrier.

NOTE: If you install over the air (OTA), stop here. This is all you need for the
installation.

Install via BlackBerry Desktop Manager

1. Download the setup package to your local desktop PC.

Download the installation package from http://www.HNHSoft.com/downloads
Find the product you want to download, click on the diskette icon, and save the file
to your local desktop PC. If you do not have a program to open .zip file, please
download it at http://www.winzip.com. Unzip the package on your PC, and you will
find the following files:

2. Check free space

HNHSoft English-Chinese Dictionary requires at least 10MB free memory to
install and run. Please make sure you have enough free memory. On your device,
go to Option Æ Status to check your free space.

If you do not have enough free space on the main memory, you can install the
program to the extension storage card. Please make sure you turn the mass
storage mode to OFF if you want to install to the extension storage card.

3. Connect your device and run Desktop Manager

Connect your device to your desktop PC. On your desktop PC, double click the

icon to start BlackBerry Desktop Manager (Figure 1).

4. Install the dictionary program

Note: if you already installed the dictionary program, skip step 4 and proceed to
step 5.

Double click the Application Loader icon in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. The
application Loader Wizard will show a list of programs that have been installed on
your device (Figure 2).

Select com_hnhsoft_dictionary.alx and install it

Click ‘Add’ button in Application Loader Wizard and select

com_hnhsoft_dictionary.alx from where you extracted the installation package in
step 1. Click ‘Next’ button, the Desktop Manager will install HNHSoft Dictionary on
your device (Figure 3).

5. Launch HNHSoft Dictionary and install data file

You will now see the HNHSoft Dictionary icon on your device. Launch the
software (Figure 4) and leave it running while you install the data.

NOTE: Your BlackBerry will perform security verification when you launch
the application the first time due to the special APIs used in this phrase
book. Please be patient. This will happen only once.

NOTE: You MUST have HNHSoft Dictionary RUNNING while you install the
data file.

6.1. Leave the Desktop Manager running on your desktop PC and your device
connected to the desktop PC.

6.2. Select "Backup and Restore" from the Desktop Manager (Figure 5).

6.3. Click the "Restore" button.

6.4. Select a data file (e.g. EN_CN.ipd) from where you extracted the

 installation package in step 1. See Figure 6.

6.5 Wait while the data is being transferred (Figure 7).

6.6. Select “Refresh” from them menu on your BlackBerry device to see the
loaded dictionary data (Figure 8).

6. Done!
Now you have successfully installed HNHSoft English-Chinese Dictionary
program. Enjoy!
