2. LESSON AIMS
1) To watch a movie in English
2) to check the understanding of the movie
3) to be able to use some words and expressions taken from the film
4) to resolve exercises related to animals, to name the animals they remember from the
movie and others they have already learned

AIDS (MATERIALS): laptop, retro projector, chalk, blackboard, worksheets,

ORGANIZATIONAL MOMENT: the student on duty tells the absents; the teacher writes
the absentees in the catalogue; then the teacher checks homework and students correct
mistakes, if necessary.
Time: 5 minutes

ACTIVITY 1: Warm up
Aims: -the teacher announces the topic: animals
Procedure: The teacher asks students to name some domestic and wild animals that they
know and announces the next activity; they watch a short version of the Jungle Book. The
teacher prepares the laptop and the retro projector and the students are asked to pay
attention to the animals in the movie and write them down on their notebooks.
Time: 3 minutes

ACTIVITY 2:
Aim: -to watch the movie and pay attention to some details
Procedure: The teacher and the students watch carefully the movie. The subtitle is also in
English in order to be easier for them to understand: watching and reading the spoken
words in the same time.
Time: 25 minutes
Interaction: T-S, individual work
ACTIVITY 3:
Aims: feedback of the movie
Procedure: 1) The students have to answer some questions related to the movie they have
watched:
What are the animals from the movie? Where does the action take place? Who is the
main character?
The teacher or other students correct them if necessary.
2) They do a true-false exercise on the worksheet they received. They work in pairs.
3) To use some words and expressions from the movie to form their own sentences:
Safe and sound, to be eager to, that’s what friends are for-individual work
4) to draw a sketch including domestic and wild animals and also exotic animals. Pair
work
5) the students have to mach the columns.

ACTIVITY 4:
Aims: Setting homework
Procedure: The teacher gives them some exercises from the students’ book. If they have
not finished the exercises from the worksheet they have to finish them at home.
Time: 2 minutes
