SUBJECT Accreditation of the Commission on Audit as Continuing Professional
Development (CPD) provider
DATE 12 December 2017
‘The Commission on Audit (COA) thru its training arm, the Professional Development Office
(PDO) of the Professional and Institutional Development Sector, applied for accreditation as
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provider in June 8, 2017, COA's application was
taken up and aporoved during the meeting of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) CPD
Council for Accountancy last July 10, 2017 but the Certificate of Accreditation was released to the
PDO only on December 12, 2017. The Commission, including all training providers in the
Commission such as the Regional Training Units, and all other COA offices offering accounting
and auditing courses, is now an accredited CPD Provider with Accreditation No. 2009-017.
However, each training program/course/seminar to be conducted are still required to be applied for
accreditation with the PRCIPRC Regional Office for their assessment and evaluation of CPD
Credit Units (C.U,) that may be earned by COA's CPA attendees/participants.
Henceforth and in view of the foregoing, the following instructions are hereby made:
1. The COA Regional Offices (ROs) and all other COA offices which initiate and conduct
accounting, auditing and public financial management courses should apply for
accreditation of their respective programs/courses/seminars.
2. Applications for accreditations of these programs/courses/seminars should be submitted to
PRC or their respective PRC Regional Offices-CPD Council for Accountancy at least forty-
five (45) days prior to their conduct citing the above-mertioned accreditation number of the
Commission for this purpose.
3. The submitted application for accreditation should indicate the number of times the
program/course/seminar will be offered.
4. Within thirty (30) calendar days after an accredited CPD program has been conducted, the
concerned RO or COA Office, as the case may be, should submit to the PRC a duly:
notarized Completion Report, with a copy to the PDO.
5. Since the accreditation of a CPD Program/Course Seminar! is valid for one year only, the
concerned COA Regional and other COA offices should submit again an application for
accreditation of Programs/Courses/Seminars whose validity for accrecitation has expired
or lapsed,

activities with the following information also to be submitted to the PDO:
