Pastor's Bible Study
Pastor Brian will begin a new Bible study on Sundays at 6pm, starting
September 19. Each lesson will be a stand-alone study, so you don't have
to worry about long term commitments or getting behind if you miss
one. The first lesson is a reflection on grief and healing entitled "‘Living
Between’, 'Lord Have Mercy' and 'Thank You, Jesus'". Please join us!
My next step:

The organist for today’s Homecoming Celebration is Deborah Lee, Oxford
College Class of 2008 and Cline Scholarship recipient. The guitarist today is
Rev. Rob Lanford. Rev. Lanford offers family counseling services here at
Allen Memorial through Covenant Counseling Center.

The 1924 portrait of Rev. Young J. Allen on display by the organ is on
Sanctuary Centennial Homecoming Celebration
loan from Oxford College of Emory University. The artist, Frances Lee Turner,
was a celebrated artist and professor at Emory University. Other paintings of
1910-2010
hers have hung in the High Museum of Atlanta, the White House and the
COMMUNICATION CARD

Smithsonian Institution. She retired to Covington, Georgia, and died in 1945.
