Foreword
This book may be short but is full of wisdom. Each article is easy to
read but has a golden nugget in the form of a practical and actionable
lesson.
There’s no one way of reading this book. You can read it from start
to finish or jump to different topics depending on your preference. The
topics are varied there’s a little bit of something for everyone.
You can learn useful tips in relating with yourself and other people,
have an intimate conversation with God, how to properly take care of
your finances, and even tips to boost your career.
This book has been months in the making. I personally know the
author and I am aware of the effort he has put to turn his dream into
reality.
I dare say that this book, is the author’s gift to the world.

It was Sunday, August 21, 2016, the day before Words to

Reality will be launched. Words to reality is the website
which we launched on August 22, that aims to inspire and
motivate every reader. I am very excited along with my
editors for Monday. One of the editors is my beautiful
fiancée - let’s keep it a secret, this is one of my ways to be
grateful for having her in my life!
Going back to August 21, in my mind, I was preparing on

how I can introduce this website to the world. There are a
lot of ideas, definitions, and explanations that were running
into my mind and I have to compile every idea and
summarize it in a phrase. A brief definition of why I am doing
this crusade is to heal and bless the world - the reasons and
the why's. To be able to impart and advertise effectively, I

should compact every reason into one phrase. The best part
of this thinking process is that, Sunday is the day where we
normally go to church; to attend the mass, reflect on the
homily and receive God's grace.
Me and my family with my fiancée, attended the Feast at

PICC Manila, Philippines - a congregation every Sunday.
Before the talks take place, they will have the holy mass. I
cannot tame my mind at first as it goes to the thinking
process, and I am not in the here and now moment so
mentally, I'm not present in the congregation. Until such
time, I decided that I will focus on God's word and will worry
later about Words to Reality. During the homily, I felt that
God is talking through me, on the priest's behalf. Father
Paul told the crowd, Go out to all the world and share the
good news or nobody will. I got this a-ha moment! In that
moment ,the gray areas in my thinking process, became so
vivid. I can see the reason why I am doing this which can be
explained in one phrase. I am doing this in order to share
the good news in a practical way by writing articles. If I will
not do this, nobody will. I was able to meditate in a very
short period of time. I have felt the need of Words to

Reality in that very moment. I realized that there are a lot of

people who do not believe in God. These kind of people do
not attend the Sunday mass either. In reality, most of these
people are living in mediocre life. They lack the plans, the
only reason to live is to survive, and does not have the
abundance mentality. These are the reasons why many
people cannot survive from poverty. They are lacking the
practical words of God. From that moment of meditation, I
felt my inner voices telling me: this website will be the key to
reach this kind of people; I should hurry up and sow the
seed in their lives; and then God will do the necessary steps
to make these seeds grow so they can live in this world truly
happy with meaningful life that has a mission.
Inner Voices
God is speaking to us especially when we need answers.
But we will not be able to hear His words if we are worrying,
and not focusing on the present time. Understanding God's
word is difficult if we lack focus and faith.
From that moment after I lightened up my mind, I felt

God's presence. He told me what I have to do, and He had

me remembered the first time He gave me this idea. I

thought to myself, this is God's work which I am His
steward. With my skills in my profession in information
technology and the spiritual growth I gained with my HELPC
family (spiritual community), I can truly help to heal and
bless the world with God's guidance.
With Words to Reality, I can share the overflowing Holy

Spirit I have to everybody in the form of articles and videos,
so they can also share to others what they have learned and
gained. It is a light of wisdom, hope, inspiration and
motivation from every article that will be channeled to
every people. Once our lights have started to unite as one,
we can surely honor God by following His word while having
a better and meaningful life because God is dwelling on us
all.
The Mission
From my stand point, launching Words to Reality is one
of my missions in this life. And for you, whatever your
mission may be, one thing is for sure - you are created in
the image of God; you are expected to nourish the gifts and

share it, love one another and make a difference to this

world by being a Jesus Christ to anybody, anytime of your
life, and anywhere you are. Just like blessed mother Teresa
of Calcutta. She is a missionary to the poorest of the
poor. She founded charities all over the world. Mother
Teresa said: by blood, I am Albanian. By citizenship, an
Indian. By faith, I am a Catholic nun. As to my calling, I
belong to the world. As to my heart, I belong entirely to the
Heart of Jesus.

The 26 tips I wrote are so personal to me. In my
adventure of improving myself, I read a lot of different books
to help me understand the way we live in this world. In my
research, I was a bit shocked! To live here in this world with
fulfillment is not that complicated. As a matter of fact, it is
very simple. I divided the topics into five chapters: dealing
with yourself; dealing with other people; talking with God;
managing wealth; and managing career. All are in particular
order, placing God in the middle of all these chapters.
Because God should be in the center of our life, isn’t it? The

spiritual aspect of life will balance the other sections such

as yourself, other people, wealth, and career.
Start now to change your views in life and know what

God has in store for your mission. You can do this step, one
by one, by emptying your worries, offering your life to God,
opening up your mind and by having faith to God. And you
can start by applying all the teachings you gained from this
book to all of your friends, family and other relatives.
Especially for all types of people where you think they most
need it.

The elimination diet: remove anger, regret, resentment, guilt, blame
and worry. Then watch your health life improve.
Everyday we face many negative energies around us.

These negative energies decrease our beauty as persons
who we used to be. Remember when you are still in the
womb of your mother, and the first day the world has seen
you? You were so beautiful, inside and outside.
 
But as the days went by and you gained consciousness,
you breathed negative energies - negative energies such as
anger, regret, resentment, guilt, blame, and worries. It could
be from your environment, movies you are watching, music
or radio programs you are listening to, and from your
friends.

True enough, it has become part of our daily lives. Of

course not every hour we have these negative energies from
our surroundings. Even the happiest people here on Earth
are exposed to these negativity. But we can choose and
decide to control these negativity with a positive outlook in
life. Just let the negative energies pass by and tune our
mind to see the positive. Do not receive any of it. We cannot
control it 100% overnight if it is a habit to inhale and exhale
negativity. But, we can control it slowly. Let us say every
day, one of your goals, is to eliminate one of those negative
traits. Based on studies, it will take at least 21 days to
change a habit. If you are looking to completely remove the
negative habits, I'm afraid you will not be able to do this.
Instead, you have to replace it with a different habit. Divert
your energy from doing the bad habit into a positive and
productive habit.
Here are some practical ways to substitute a negative

trait into a positive attitude. At first, this will look awkward.
But you have to get used to it to eliminate the bad habits,
one by one.

Instead of Being Angry or Having

Resentment, Just Choose to be Calm, Talk to
the Person and Address the Problem
Every problem has a solution, and the very best way to
settle a problem with someone is to talk to that person. Be
open, but choose the words that will not hurt the person. In
this way, you can free yourself from negative emotions that
will haunt you every second of your life.
Choosing the right words in a proper situation heals

relationships. Once you have established an emotional
connection to the person you are about to hate, you will
understand deeply in your heart a thousand reasons why
you should not hate this person. You will be able to
understand the problem. Most of the time, relationship
problems are just caused by miscommunication. Stand up,
and talk to the person. There is nothing wrong about it, and
it is better to do this rather than living with anger and
resentment.

Instead of Feeling Guilt, Accept that

you are Wrong
We are humans, and not perfect, and thus being wrong
sometimes is acceptable. This is where you have to be
open-minded, open to accepting mistakes because you
cannot master everything.
Once you accept that all things are not under your
control, you will have a healthy friendship with every person.
You will also be a trustworthy friend, whom everybody can
count on. Accepting that you are wrong releases the
negative stress of feeling guilt.
Just imagine if you will not release this negative stress.

When you are on your way to the office, you feel guilt.
During meetings, your mind will wander because
of guilt. When you're on your vacation, instead of
enjoying and relaxing, you are re-thinking of scenes where
you feel guilt. It is not very healthy to always have guilt in
your mind and body. Release it by accepting that you are
wrong. It is toxic that slowly poisons you.

Instead of Blaming Others, Accept your

Mistakes, Own your Mess and be a Man
People tend to follow somebody whom they know can
accept and manage their own mistakes. Just like in the
previous elimination diet, it will take courage for a man to
step up and accept the wrongdoing they have committed.
Accepting mistakes also makes you trustworthy and

shows that you are in control. Circumstances do not control
you. Other people do not control you. And above all,
mistakes do not define you. Blaming others does not put
you in a safe zone. Instead, you have just skipped the road
of blaming city. One day, when other roads are closed, you
will have to take this route, and you have no choice. You will
be in trouble because you have blamed others. If you are a
blamer, you are pushing all of your loved ones including
your friends away from you. Learn to accept mistakes, and
you will be a person with integrity.

Instead of Worrying, Pray to God and Believe

Faith is also accompanied by action. You have to believe
in yourself and put in your mind that everything will be
alright as long as you have faith in what you do. There will
come a time where you will lose hope. This is also the time
where you have to re-visit your faith so you can practice it.
Praying involves a calmness of your mind while meditating
and focusing. You are reaching a wireless, free-of-charge
communication to the heavens where you will be free from
your worries, heavy problems in life and all other negative
habits.
This spiritual aspect of life is very powerful as you

connect and recharge yourself when your emotional battery
is empty. When you are empty, what you can only use are
negative energies. You have to plug yourself into the source
to receive the positive energies that will make your life
function as God designed it to be.
Put the four simple steps into action everyday. You can
not perfect it overnight as it needs time and practice. But as
time goes by, you will get used to it. You can picture

yourself now, and see yourself in the next year. You will be
younger looking, will have a healthier body, improved
relationship, and most of all, you will be an inspiration and a
role model to others.

2. Five Rules to Live a
Happier Life
5 rules to live a happier life: 1. Love yourself; 2. Do Good; 3. Always
forgive; 4. Harm no one; and 5. Be positive.
We want to be happy, no one likes to be sad. This is a

basic human attitude. But for some reason, even if we don’t
want to be sad, half our day is spent with us being sad. This
is true for all people because we cannot be happy all the
time. You cannot laugh all day, nor cry all day. Otherwise,
you are not normal anymore and you need a specialized
doctor!
But here’s the thing, even if we are sad, we can still

choose to be happy. It is only if we choose and proclaim to
ourselves to live a happier life. There are rules to follow if
you want to live a happier life.
Make this a guideline whenever you feel lost.

1. Love yourself. Before you love someone, you have to

love yourself first. How can you truly love someone if you
cannot love yourself first? That’s why in this book dealing
with yourself is placed as the first chapter. You have to love
with yourself first before other people.
2. Do good. Great things comes to those who do good

for others. You can have more friends, and less to no
enemies. And within you, you will have a pure and clean
heart. The famous saying, Act a Random Kindness falls
here.
3. Always forgive. We can be mad, but we cannot be

mad all the time. We have to choose to forgive, then learn to
forget. If we choose not to forgive, we will always carry the
negativity that will make us uncomfortable everyday. The
benefit is really for you once you forgave the person. Free
yourself from the heavy emotions by choosing to forgive.
4. Harm no one. In addition to doing good, you should

also harm no one. We are created in the image of God, and
we are all equal. Harming someone is like harming God,
your parents or your siblings, or even yourself.

5. Be positive. This is about seeing things positively

even if in reality it is not good at all. You direct the negative
energies to a more positive outlook in life. This is about
mind hacking, that you tell to yourself that "It is just fine,
and I am doing just fine!" Always mentally pat your back,
and tell to yourself, "This is going to be a great day!".
Truly, choosing to live a happier life is not easy. But if you

choose to do it with faith in God, and you choose to do
each of these rules everyday, it is also true that you will have
a happier life in the next 90 days. Living a happier life needs
time and you will get used to each of these rules. Enjoy your
life and follow these simple guidelines.

3. No Need to Please
Anybody
When you do something noble and beautiful and nobody notices,
do not be sad. For the sun every morning is a beautiful spectacle
and yet most of the audience still sleeps.
Here in the Philippines most of the policemen use a

shotgun to defend themselves from criminals. A shotgun's
bullet is called a shell. If a shotgun is fired, the shell is
spread randomly in different directions. If I am a police
officer and there are eight robbers in the bank. Yes, I will use
a shotgun! I am talking only if I am a policeman. If I have the
option to choose the type of gun, I will choose a rifle. I will
tell you why.
The robbers have equal chances of being hit. But not all

robbers will be hit, because the bullet will be spread
randomly. Other robbers will be able to escape. If it is a rifle,
chances of shooting the robbers will be improved. Even if
they hide behind the wall, the bullet will pierce through that.

Have you ever pleased someone with your work

performance, stories, or jokes? Well, I had. Most of the
times before, I will always do my best to please everyone
around me. If I cracked a joke, everybody should laugh. If I
tell a story, everybody should listen and should be moved. If
I do my work at my very best, everybody should be
impressed. And if ever not all are pleased, I will be sad.
Because it did not work the way I have prepared. But that is
the thing in the past. I learned that not all can be pleased,
because everybody is different. Interests are not the same,
moods, age, gender, and beliefs. Instead of using a shotgun
that fires randomly, I can choose a rifle that hits directly the
target.
Always remember, just like the sun every morning, you

are a very beautiful spectacle. You have to do what is right
with your skills and talents God has provided you with. You
do not need to please anybody so they will be impressed
and notice you. Just be yourself and do your best, because
God will take care of the rest. Like a bullet from a rifle that
will hit your audiences, co-workers, friends and other
people. Being true to yourself and not for the sake of other

people will make them proud of you. It is ironic but this how
it works.
Do not be sad. God loves you and He knows all what

you have done. God is pleased to every love that you have
given to your neighbors and to your work.

4. What You See is What
You Get
Whatever it is in your mind will come to life if you truly believe it.
Have you ever wondered when you think of something, it

suddenly shows up in your environment? You thought of
buying a new car with a specific color blue. Then when you
are on the road, you saw a lot of blue cars? It is not a
coincidence, you have just flipped the switch on your brain
to notice all the blue cars. When you are in a mall, and you
need to buy a dress that is color pink, wherever you go you
will notice all dresses with different colors but pink will stand
out among them.
This is a powerful part of our brain called Reticular

Activating System (RAS), and it also filters out other images
in our brain that does not attract what we want. Whatever
you think of and see in your brain, you will easily notice it in
reality. You may be wondering why what you are thinking

about suddenly appeared. This is normal, this is how our

brain works!
Reticular Activating System is very useful when setting

up goals. When you setup goals and you visualize them, you
see them in your brain as images. The more you see your
goals, the more you are close to reaching it. When you are
preparing for an exam, it is normal that you will study. The
more you study and see it in your brain, the more accurate
that you will pass the exam. When you have a project in
your company, you will likely to create a road map or a plan
to set small milestones to reach the big goal. The more you
review it with other team members involved in the project,
the more it will progress and the project will be
accomplished efficiently.
You also have to know that RAS can either work for you
or against you. That is why it is vital to know how it works.
By default, RAS likes to be in its comfort zone. It does not
welcome anything that is outside its scope. It does not want
hardships, nor does it want anything new, and not
particularly interested in any challenges in life. If you are not

using RAS to your advantage, then it is likely that is working

by default today. This is the reason why most people do not
entertain any challenges in life. They want to be where they
are where they are relaxed. Getting out of their comfort zone
for these types of people is chaotic and they think will kill
themselves if they tried. There is really nothing wrong here.
But if you want to have a life that is meaningful and can
impact other people’s lives, you have to adjust your RAS to
work for you. You have a reason why you are living today.
One of the reasons is to fulfill your mission. To get
on-boarded on your mission, you have to leave your comfort
zone.
Leaving the Comfort Zone

The first thing you got to do, is to set up your goals.
Visualize them in your brain. You may not know it yet, but
our brain sees every communication through words as
images. While you are reading this, each word is translated
into an image. That is why visualizing what you want to
accomplish, and claiming that you will achieve it, activates
the RAS to work for you. RAS will switch on all the

necessary opportunities and resources for you to be able to

reach your goals.
Bad Use of RAS

You need to be careful in what you feed your brain. All
sources such as TV shows, magazines, ads, attitudes of
people around you, and other things that you see, provides
a very big impact on how your brain works. Especially how
RAS is being used.
If you keep on watching a horror movie, you will be

terrified while watching it. And after watching this movie,
you will get home still terrified thinking that there is a ghost
in your room. Suddenly, you will imagine that your white
shirt is floating and you will scream. You will later on find out
that it is not a ghost, but just a shirt hanged by your mother.
It's the same thing with watching news, where you see a
lot of violence or bad news being reported. Have you ever
wondered why majority of news being reported are
negative? It is because that is what we are interested to
watch. This is not very healthy but this is just how it works.
The impact to your life? It could be your attitude which will

be violent, or you will have heavy emotions in your life. This

will cause you to be narrow-minded, short-tempered and
will have a poor outlook in life. The good news is, you can
totally power off your TV set if all you see are bad news.
You have to be careful when choosing friends. Most

addicts in illegal drugs are influenced by their friends. They
see it as something that is cool and a must for them to try.
So they try it, then later on become hooked on the bad
habit. The worst part is, they became addicts themselves. It
is very important to choose and filter what you feed your
brain with the kind of friends you surround yourself with.
Positive Use of RAS

The series of examples we have discussed are all bad
sources for your brain. Now, let’s spend time discussing
how we can use our sources to use our brain to work on our
side. Remember, what you see is what you get. In other
words, whatever you feed your brain, that is what you
become eventually.

There a lot of TV ads, or commercials that are not

harmful for you. If someday you want to be successful on
investing in the stock market, what you should be watching
are news in businesses. Not news about terrorists. You
should be reading articles on how the stock market works,
and not how the market collapsed. And to the most part,
you should surround yourself with people who are already
succeeding in the stock market. If you could also find a
businessman who could be your mentor, that would be
great. Do not surround yourself with people who are greedy
with money. You will become like them as well.
When setting up goals, you have to be specific about

them. Write them on a piece of paper, and make sure to set
deadlines. Deadlines are very important. Otherwise, you will
procrastinate. For me, I personally used Evernote, an
application that syncs all my notes to all of my devices.
You have to read these goals every day, and visualize

that you have already achieved them. You can also write a
vision statement which you can read weekly. The statement
should be in the present time. It is more powerful to say that

"I have it" rather than saying "I will have it”. For example, "I
am now earning P50,000 a month" is more powerful
than saying "I will earn P50,000 a month”. Remember, what
you have in your mind will happen. And for you to attain it,
you have to study very hard and you should be action-
oriented. Watch tutorial videos and read books that will
supplement you to reach your goals.
Reminder
You now have a quick glance of how your brain works. It
works with the system called Reticular Activating System
(RAS) where you can choose all you want to see, and filter
out all other things that will not be of any help. RAS can ei-
ther work for you or against you. To be able to live a life that
is meaningful and impactful to every person, is everyone’s
mission.
For you to do this, start working with your RAS, befriend

it so it will work on your side, and not the other way around.
There is no limit to what you can accomplish in this world if
RAS will work on your side. Do not be an average person
who lives a mediocre life. Be a person that God wants you

to be - a person that will live with a vision and a mission; a

person that will bless and heal the world; and a person that
will live a life to the fullest with no regrets until the very last
breath.
Always remember, add everything you read, hear, watch,

and all the attitudes of your friends. Then get the average.
The resulting value is you.

5. Have a Positive
Attitude in Life
You have to get up every morning and tell yourself, I can do this!
We have two ways to start our day. First is to appreciate

things, and second is to depress ourselves. Let me
elaborate, and start on the second way - the negative
approach to start every morning. This will be followed by the
positive approach which is the first way - appreciating
things.
Negative Attitude
You woke up in the morning by opening your eyes, and
start saying, "what a bad dream". The genre of your dream
is action, and you are being chased by a beast like in the
movies.
You looked around, and say, "what a bad room".

You got up from your bed, look in the mirror, and you say,
"what a bad face"!
You suddenly looked into your to-do list and in that case

your mind telling you, "I have to work in this company
again". Then you go straight to the shower, dressed up
and go to office.
Just imagine how stressful your day would be if you

started this negativity first thing in the morning. Now, let's
imagine the first way, appreciating things in the morning
with the same scenario.
Positive Attitude
You woke up in the morning by opening your eyes, and
start saying, "Oh! What a great dream it was. I hope to
continue this same dream again, but this time, I will conquer
the beast!" Say that you will conquer the beast with
conviction!
You looked around, and say, "I am so happy to be in this

room, it refills my energy bar just by staring at every corner".
Even if your room is not that beautiful. Appreciate it, at

5. Have a positive attitude in life
least you have a room. But of course, you have to clean it

and remove the dust from every area and make it shine to
light up your day.
You got up from your bed, look in the mirror, and you
say, "Hey man, you are very gorgeous. You should be the
next top model!". Say this sincerely with a smile showing
your beautiful white teeth and be proud!
You suddenly looked into your to-do list, your mind

saying, "I am so excited to go to the office, start my work,
finish early then relax while waiting to go home".
You prayed and meditated, "Thank You Father for this

day. Thank You for all the things you have provided and will
provide. Guide me and my loved ones today. Everything will
be done according to you will. Amen!"
You are singing while walking to the shower room, taking

a bath and until dressing up. While traveling to the office,
you are appreciating all that you are seeing. Even if the
traffic is heavy, you took this opportunity to relax and tune
your mind.

Get Up Positively
It is very critical to start our day with a smile and with a
positive outlook in life. This includes appreciating things
even if it is not too appreciative. If we think that the day is
bad, it will be worse. But if we think that the day is positive
and is on our side, we can do all things we've planned. If we
think we cannot do one or more in our to-do list, our mind
will stop thinking for the solutions. Thus, procrastinating
these tasks. But if we tell ourselves, I can do this! Our mind
will start to function like a refueled machine and we will
be able to accomplish what we have listed in our to-do list.
Now, say it with me, I can do this!
Make it a habit everyday to start your morning by telling

yourself, I can do this! If saying this once will not give you
enough energy and motivation, say it again! As many as you
can, until the power of these words sync-in on you.
Hence, your mind will put to work, all the energies you
need will be filled up, and your day will sure to fire up.

6. Three Traits to Win in
the Game of Life
Most people have the will to win, few have the will to prepare to
win. - Bobby Knight
In a basketball game before it actually starts, there will

be series of warm ups. The players will shoot and shoot and
shoot, until their bodies have heated, their pulse have
adjusted, and their mind is focused. These players have the
will to win. Everybody wants to be a winner and no one
wants to lose.
In this game of basketball every player has to have these

key aspects when playing: endurance, awareness and
focus. These aspects are for average players. If a player
wants to be an MVP, he should add more aspects such as
humility, perseverance and vision. Together with the average
aspects added with the MVP traits, a player will surely be a
champion. Even if the team lost, the player will still feel that
he won. There is a winning moment when accepting defeat.

The player has conquered the emotions of anger and

hatred. He won more not just by winning the game. The next
time this particular player plays, he will be more than he was
before. A champion is not defined how many winning
streaks he had, but how he handled struggles and defeats
with victory.
Let us talk about being a champion. We enumerated that

in order for a player to rise up from being average is to add
humility, perseverance and vision.
Every traits are not dependent with each other but all of
those are needed. If one of those are not present, the player
will not be able to call himself a champion because there will
be some moments in the game that he will give up or will be
out of focused. In other words, the performance of the
player will not be to the extent that is full and dedicated.
There will be some moments that this player will get

distracted by the crowd, will miss free throws because of
anger, will slip the ball because his mind and body move-
ments are not in-sync. These three traits helps each other
so the player can play the best he could be.

6. Three traits to win in the game of life
Humility (Spiritual)
The quality or state of not thinking you are better than
other people; the quality or state of being humble. Exactly
what the definition from merriam-webster dictionary, this is a
trait when a player acknowledges that there are people
better than him.
Being humble is the exact opposite of pride. A key to

accepting failure and mistake is to admit it. Players fighting
due to the call of violation from the referee can easily be
prevented if they are humble. Pride causes millions of dollar
to be paid as a penalty to every players inappropriate
behavior.
If only these players have humility in their hearts, they

will have a peace of mind during the game until the game
concludes.
Humility is also the key to learn new things, or learn from

mistakes. It takes acceptance for every player to be
open-minded, to know that they can still learn more. An act
of being open-minded makes a player grow even more, and
stretch his potentials to the extent of a new level. A player

who thinks they know everything will not grow and will be
stagnant.
Perseverance (Physical)
Perseverance is directly related to hard work. But it
requires more than hard work. Being a perseverant player,
requires determination to win whether the current
circumstances are bad.
If there is a huge gap on the score or most of the key

players are out in the game due to injury or being fouled out,
a champion is not distracted by any of these because he is
determined to win. Struggle after struggle, a champion
always sees every opportunity to shoot the ball, pass it to
another player, until they make a score.
There will be failures, some harsh words from the coach

while the upper hand is on the opponent. But with
perseverance, a player is equipped with shield that will allow
him to endure all negatives and hardships in the game. To
have perseverance in every player’s offense and defense
mechanism, one has to have the enough reason why he
should win the game. The player should know what is the

purpose of winning, and they should also know that the

benefits of winning is not just for themselves but for the rest
of the team, their families and their fans.
These reasons and purposes will be a great fuel for every

player to stay focus and aware in the game. It is amazing
that players are drawing energy from nowhere to be seen if
they are determined to win.
Vision (Mental)
If there would be anything that is lacking in most players,
it is the ability to visualize the game. It is to have the
complete vision before and after. This is the state where a
player engages his mind to win.
A mind is a very powerful gift from God. Whatever a

player sees in his vision, if he truly believes in it, whatever
the vision is, will surely happen. This is elaborated in the tip
#4, what you see is what you get.
Most people think that the rehearsal only happens before

the game where players will throw the ball freely to the
basket. Didn’t they know, that champions, right before warm

up, are also rehearsing mentally. These players are

practicing in their mind. They are adjusting their mind,
conditioning it like tuning up a car before the racing starts.
Mental picture of what will happen in the game is one of

the most important trait a champion must have. It conditions
every part of the body. With vision, the player is ready to
face and play the game with one thing in his mind and that
is to win.
Be a Champion Now
All of these traits are not just for basketball game.
It applies to any game including the game of life. In order for
us to live a life that is full, enjoyable, and meaningful, we
have to be a champion.
A champion does not just have the will to win, but also
have the will to prepare to win. Every average player wishes
to be a champion someday and this is not an easy task.
Life is hard, and every average player should accept it

and act on it. It does not happen over night. Practice all

these three traits daily, and make it a habit. Long before an

average player knows it, he is already a champion.
Being a champion does not just affect their own lives but

also affect all other people around them by giving other
players the inspiration and motivation and be a role model
to them.
This world really needs a champion today! To bless and

heal the world is not an easy responsibility. One has to step
up, lead, and to win.
Be a champion and impact the lives of every people.

Always remember, champions have a healthy spirit with
humility, physically fit to persevere and a clear mental vision.
Twenty-four hours a day, whenever and wherever they are
in.

7. Face your Failures
If you are afraid of failure, you don’t deserve to be successful.
Do you believe that you can succeed on whatever you

do without failing? If you said YES, then you are right. You
are correct only if you are in a fantasy world where whatever
you think happens.
You can control everything what you see through your

mind. And yes, this only happens when you are sleeping by
having a dream, or you are day-dreaming while you are in
the office with your hand supporting your chin while looking
through the window glass.
But if you said NO, congratulations! You are one step

ahead to the journey of being successful, truly successful!
Yes my friend, success starts, when you are ready to accept
a defeat or a failure.

The Failures
Let me discuss with you this man. He wanted to study
film at the University of Southern California’s School of
Cinematic Arts. However, he was rejected due to his “C”
grade average. He applied for the second time but got
rejected again.
Overall, he applied to USC three times but was rejected

all three times. He then applied and was admitted to
California State University, Long Beach, where he majored
in English.
While still a student, he was offered a small unpaid intern

job at Universal Studios with the editing department. He
was later given the opportunity to make a short film for
theatrical release, the 26-minute, 35mm, Amblin’, which he
wrote and directed.
Studio vice president Sidney Sheinberg was impressed

by the film, which had won a number of awards and offered
him a seven-year directing contract. It made him the
youngest director ever to be signed for a long-term deal
with a major Hollywood studio.

7. Face your failures
Yes, I am talking about the exceptionally talented Steven

Spielberg.
The Achievements
Today, he is a very successful film-maker and is known
for his movies: Jaws, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, Catch
Me If You Can, etc. He has directed 27 movies over four
decades, has won 3 Oscars, including two for Best Director.
The gross of all Spielberg-directed films is said to exceed
$8.5 billion worldwide. His personal net worth is estimated
to be more than $3 billion.
Imagine the kind of films we would have lost out on, had
he decided to give up on film-making altogether after being
rejected thrice by his dream school!
Do not afraid to fail. Start in your mind thinking that

failure is part of reaching your goals in life. Failing teaches
us to do the better way the next time we do things. In fact,
the best teacher we have is the last failure we had. Learn
from failures, and surely you will succeed someday.

were created in the image of God. Your faith in God, talents,
and skills you have now are your tools to become

8. Your Natural Beauty is
the Best
You are beautiful, stay just the way you are!
Every first Sunday of the month, we are the assigned

choir, Music and Life Ministry, to a mass at a TV channel.
The mass starts at six in the morning, that's why me and my
family have to wake up at 4am. It is a 10 to 15 minutes drive
to the TV channel's studio. You may be surprised, 4am is
too early! It is because the choir should be in the studio at
least 30 minutes before the mass for the rehearsal and for
the ritual being done by the women. Ok, it's not really a
ritual, but more of preparing for their looks.
We know how big the effort girls are putting into this.
From their hair to every detail of their face. The men will just
comb a bit, check the long sleeves we are wearing, and
glance at a few seconds in the mirror. And that's it! It will
just take not more than 5 minutes for us men. But for the
girls, we already know how long - it is very long.

They need to be in the dressing room at the latest

at 5:15 in the morning to do their preparation. All right, let's
cut the preparation thing. This is the morning routine every
first Sunday of the month for me, my sister, my family, and
my fiancée - and her family.
By the way, my sister and my fiancée are also members

of the choir. They are part of the women who enjoy
preparing in front of the mirror. This is fine, because they are
women.
After the Holy Mass

The mass has ended, and like we are normally doing, we
are taking pictures from every part of the studio. Selfies,
solo, group, and community pictures. It is as if every time
we do this, this is the first time we sang on TV.
That's the good thing about it, we treat this and each
moment as our first time, so we are enjoying it. You know
the feeling of the first time experience, don't you? It is very
fulfilling and exciting! One of the members of the choir, that
is always joyous, asked me to upload ASAP all the pictures
taken on my phone. According to her, the image quality of

the shots are so good that she is so very excited to post

them in her profiles in Facebook and Instagram. I always
reply "yes I will upload it right away as soon as I get
home, he he he!!!" This particular choir mate of mine is more
than a friend to me. A sister in Christ we could refer to.
Actually, all of them are more than friends to me. They are
which I can call as spiritual brothers and sisters.
This girl who is so eager to upload the pictures is

normally one of the girls who will lock a portion in the
dressing room to do the her ritual - ok just a preparation. I
noticed something new with her - her looks. It was very
simple compared to how she looked like in the past. Her
beauty stood out because it was very simple. I didn't have a
chance to say it personally though, because right after the
mass, we were so focused with taking photos.

We got home, and obviously, I slept like I always do after
the Sunday mass service. I woke up, and checked my
phone. There is a message reminding me to upload the
pictures. You can see how eager this spiritual sister of mine

is? I cannot blame her, the camera of my phone is clear and

fascinating. And on top of that, she looks so gorgeous that
morning because of her simple fix on her hair and face!
I uploaded the pictures and she is now happy. Like a kid

who received an ice cream. I took this opportunity now, to
say to her, how beautiful she was this morning.
She replied with shyness and probably with curiosity -

"Oh, the preparation I made is not even that tedious and
detailed. I just don't like putting a lot of makeup on my face.
It's so embarrassing now. I'm curious what my looks were
earlier this morning. I have to check the replay of the TV
mass later. with straight face emoticon on her message. I re-
plied to her - "You should be grateful. I just praised your
looks! For me, the more simple your looks are, the better.
Most of the time, you are in your most beautiful stage if you
don't have anything added on your face. This is also the
message I am telling to my sister and fiancée. I know
makeup will be good on you. But too much makeup will
make you older, and will hide your real beauty."

She did not argue with me. Because she knows how
time is consumed during the preparation. She also agreed
that simplicity is beauty.
Simplicity is Beauty
You may be wondering why you are not beautiful like the
artist you are so passionate to follow and mimic. This is
where you are going to buy expensive lipstick, makeup kit,
etc. Ultimately, you are going to visit one of the miracle
doctors out there to pour magic on your face by whitening
your skin, nose lifting, adjustment of the eyes, and other
beauty magic by doctors nowadays.
Let me tell you something, with the sweetest and

gentlest manner I could use to deliver this message to you.
Whatever you do to your face, or your body. You are still

you. Your original face will still appear. You have just hidden
the real beauty of your true face. The artificial beauty
performed by the doctors fades faster than your natural
face. Worst effect of artificial or operated beauty is it would
need regular maintenance or else it will make your skin grow
old a lot faster.

Always remember this verse from the Genesis 1:27: So

God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God
he created them; male and female he created them.
God is beautiful and so are you. You are created in His

image. You have the perfect face and body. The heaven is
rejoicing when you are smiling and when you are putting
care to your body. You need to stay just the way you are.
Every morning, make it a habit to say this in front of the
mirror. With confidence, add this to your morning prayer:
I am a beautiful creation of God; I am created in God's im-

age. In His ways, I am perfect: my face is gorgeous; my
body is sexy; and on top of that I don't need any artificial
beauty on my face. Because my face given by God is per-
fect! In Jesus name, Amen.

9. Use Silence to
Communicate
Sometimes you just have to stay silent because no words can
explain what’s going on in my mind and heart
Explaining yourself verbally is a very effective way of

communication. But sometimes, being silent gives a more
definite explanation of what you are trying to say. Being
silent is a non-verbal communication. There are cases
where non-verbal communication is far better because it
includes a feeling that directs the message straight through
the heart of the person you are talking to.
Being silent in a moment of anger or resentment also re-

freshes the mind of the person to feel the inner peace
within.
Let me tell you about the artists, Marina Abramovic. In

the 1970s, Marina and her then boyfriend named Ulay broke
up. But even until the very end of the relationship, they
chose to do it in an interesting fashion, just like true artists.
They went to the opposite ends of the Great Wall of China

and walked towards each other in the middle. When they

finally met, they gave each other one last embrace and
parted ways. They never saw each other again after that.
More than 30 years later, Marina held a live art

performance. She spent one minute in silence with
complete strangers. They just stared at each other, probably
getting inspiration or energy of some sort. But one particular
man seemed to have captured Marina’s attention in a more
special way because her reaction was different from the
others. It turned out that the man was Ulay. It was their first
time to see each other after more than 30 years, and the
moment was so emotional and beautiful.
No verbal communication has taken place. Only pure

silence with eye contact. The scene is very emotional as
they have reminisce the past, with tears flowing out on both
of their eyes. Deep within their heart and mind, they are
talking with each other using the peaceful silence in the
room.
Even though Marina and Ulay met there without saying a

word, we are sure that they were able to speak with each
other through their hearts. This is such a beautiful story! It is
a proof that silence is a great way to communicate.

10. Five Easy Steps to
Deal with Gossips
Remember, whoever is trying to bring you down
is already below you
There are two types of achievements a person could

have in this world. Being successful, or being a failure. Most
often, successful people are a target of jealousy in his own
circle.
Jealous people are intimidated because they don’t have

what the successful people have. It could be his job, life
status, bigger house, luxurious car, or a happy family.
The Jealous and the Successful

Jealous people will gossip about things on how
successful people have acquired what they have now. The
bad news is gossip is not real, and provides false
information to other people.
Another bad news is, jealous people do not know their

lives are heading in a wrong direction and that they're just

wasting their golden time. In other words, people who

worship jealousy are subject to fail. The mere fact is they
should stop gossiping, and start working on their own life.
Successful people also fail, but they persevere until they

reach their target goals. In times of failure, successful
people do not see them as failures, but an opportunity for
something else. They see failure as part of being successful.
It is normal that we fail, it is part of being human. We are not
perfect. Failures shape us to be a better person.
On the other hand, failure for a jealous person, is like a

dead-end game, where there is no next opportunity. It is
game over for them. Being jealous is unhealthy. It
deteriorates the mind and body of the jealous person, and
not just the successful person this jealous entity is trying to
put down.
Help the Jealous Person

The next time you know someone who is putting you
down, approach them, and be a friend who will lay a hand
to pull them up.
Do not put yourself into trouble by arguing with them

because that will cause you to go down to their level.

10. Five easy steps to deal with gossips
Instead, understand them, and prove to them that they are

wrong about you, but do not over please them. Whenever
someone is bringing you down, always keep in mind the
following thoughts everyday.
1. Pray for them.
2. Count your own blessings, not the other way around.
3. We are all children of God, we all have equal rights in

this world.
4. Inspire them, offer your help to them.
5. Motivate them, help them to overcome their fear of

failure.
Always keep in mind these 5 simple actions to

counter-attack the gossips that are thrown to you by this
jealous person. You will not just heal the gaps but also the
relationship for both of you. Who knows, well only God
knows, this person might be your soul mate, a best friend
for better or for worse, or someone who will be your friend
until the end of time.

11. Dealing with Gossips
using Love
Ignore the gossips about you, stay pure and give love.
In our community there is a group of older members,

mostly assigned as a worker who dearly love each other.
These members are obviously happy people, and it is
seldom you can see them serious. Though sometimes you
can see them with a straight face - a kind of face where they
burden the problems of the Earth. But the bottom line is,
they are joyous people. This is what matters.
There is this one member whose name is Linda (not her

real name), who happens to dislike some of the rules in the
community. This led her to come up with her own version of
stories, over-emphasizing simple problems, and making
others accountable for any mistake or wrong-doing in the
community. As a result, Linda started to build a wall
between her friends in the community.

The Wall
The wall between them is built, and so their pride has
taken effect. No more communication between Linda and
the other members, just pure pride. A complete set of things
that divided the workers of the community.
There are members who side with Linda, and members

on the opposite side. It is like a sub-group inside one whole
group. This division made sure that the members are no
longer pleasant to others. They are on different worlds with
different versions of the story.
Gossip is a Bad Thing

Over the course of a few months, the wall Linda has built
has grown bigger and bigger that hatred and problems
among them got worse. The main reason of their fight is due
to pride and envy. The problem started with a simple
confusion, but due to pride, Linda cannot accept her
mistakes or weaknesses, so she started to gossip. Gossip is
a work of the devil that controlled Linda. As an effect of
gossip being utilized by Linda, the devil also tried to control
the emotions of other people directly involved on the wrong
side of the story.

11. Dealing with gossips with love
Did you know that at the early age of human society,

gossip was defined as an evil deed? It is because gossiping
is another form of lies. From Proverbs 17:4 - An evildoer
listens to wicked lips, and a liar gives ear to a mischievous
tongue.
From the verse, we can simply put in that anyone who

are telling lies are possessed by a demon. It seems being
possessed by a demon is not only somebody depicted in
movies like the Exorcist, correct? We can literally see a
possessed person every day. On their outside appearance,
they are normal. But when they start talking, we can sense
some evil deeds from their words.
It is very alarming that the people involved in this

gossip-caused war are charismatic. This made me realized
that the devil can penetrate anyone, even if you are in a
spiritual community. Now, how do we deal with gossips?
And most of all, how do we save Linda and the likes of her
from the sin of gossiping?
Stay Pure and Give Love

I have been waiting for Linda and other members to be
healed emotionally before I come up with a section here in

this book. It means they are in good terms now - a proof

that I wrote this already.
Some of the community members have tried to help

them settle their differences and to clear their misunder-
standing. But no one really tried to break the walls. These
community members tried to help them, but the problem
was, the wall is blocking Linda and other members so they
cannot hear each other well.
Now, how did the conflict get solved? Has someone

from the community broken the wall? Are you ready for the
answer?
I am very excited for this to tell you that no one from the
community broke the wall! God did break the wall! In God's
Holy time, He broke the wall created from lies, hatred,
and pride. How did it happen? Well, it happened in a very
mysterious way.
In one of our Catholic Life in the Spirit Seminars, the last

speaker told everyone to hug their loved ones - including
family and friends. This is where the wall was broken. I saw
them at the back, crying and hugging each other. I saw
Linda in a very humble manner. Linda was drowned with

love. Because love is overflowing through her eyes - the

tears of love.
The wall was broken by God using the love of His people

in His own timing. They kept on moving forward with their
lives and have allowed Linda to do her thing. The devil was
not able to control these members because they stayed
pure and they have given love to Linda that flushed all
negative energies.
Love like it is Christmas

As for you and for me, this is a lesson we can always
carry. The people who dislike us are there just behind our
back. Keep pressing forward because that is where they
belong, behind our back.
We have to live our normal lives because there is no

need to please them. What we have to do is not to fight, but
to stay pure and instead give love to them. Loving the
people who dislike us will remove envy, hatred, and pride
towards us.
This is a powerful gift we can give, like every Christmas,

to someone who needs love. On top of that, these people
like Linda will form healthy relationships not just for you but

for others because they received love. And so, they will also
give love.

12. Every Person has
Different Level
of Perspection
I stopped explaining myself when I realized other people only
understand from their level of perception
Have you ever tried explaining to a friend or someone

else the best way you can, and very detailed you can be, yet
they cannot understand what you are trying to say? Instead,
they will start an argument and give their own explanations
that moves away from the topic you both are discussing?
The chances are very high, and it is likely to happen

most of the time. This is because you cannot connect to
someone you are talking to.
This happens because you cannot jive with each other's

idea. When you are explaining, the other party either tries or
not so willing to understand what you are saying. It is either
he is interested or have been offended from what you are
saying. Then if the person is offended, an argument will be

triggered and both of you will not be able to understand

each other.
The Confusion
Let me share with you a story. There is a lady who went
into a pet shop. She bought a dog. A very fine an expensive
dog with an innocent eyes and a foxy ears. A little, adorable
breed of a dog. A chihuahua. The lady asked the staff in the
pet shop on how to bathe the dog. The staff told the lady to
buy the soap for dogs, then use it to bathe the dog.
Now the lady, after a day, went back to the pet shop. The
lady is in rage, complaining to the staff.
Lady: The dog is dead after bath!
The staff is stunned, because of what happened.
The staff: How did that happened?
Lady: I used the soap I bought. I put the soap into the
washing machine, added water, and placed the dog inside.
Then I turned the washing machine on! Then right after, the
dog is cleaned but dead!"

12. Every person has different level of perspection
The staff who was stunned is now in a shocked state.

She does not know what to say. All she can say is, poor
dog, with a sad face. Then the lady took a moment of
silence, calmed herself, and told the lady that: it was wrong
to put the dog into the washing machine. It is a living
creature, not a dress, pants or something that has no life.
She explained calmly to the lady customer. But the lady

walked out the pet shop still angry, and slammed the door
as she leaved.
Awareness and Patience

With the perception of the lady, you cannot even start to
explain the wrongdoing she made. But the staff made her
job with sincerest way to answer the raging question of the
lady customer. Of course, the story is non-fiction.
So if you are an animal lover, who is affected by the

story, don't worry. There is no real animal harmed here. It is
just a story to explain the level of perception of the lady who
bought the dog. Alright?
How do you know when to stop explaining? I have listed

two tips for you.

1. See if the person is interested. This can be easily

seen if the person you are talking to is interested. If the
person always agrees from what you are saying, chances
are this person is not interested. But if the person, is
neglecting some of your statements, giving feedback, or
providing recommendations, then this person is a good
listener and is interested.
2. See if explanation is really important. There are

times when explanation is not important. When presenting
an idea, there are times that over explaining it, is just
wasting the listener's time, and yours. If the statement is
crystal clear, you don't really need to explain thoroughly.
Over explaining a thought or an idea sometimes

confuses the listener. The explanation goes back and forth,
left to right and gives your listener a very hard time
understanding it. Simply state the idea, and if you noticed
that they understand it, (this can be seen with their eye
movement, facial expression and gestures) do not explain
anymore.
When explaining, it is very critical to also listen to their

feedback and be aware of their actions which could be

noticed by reading their body movements. Their feedback

and actions shows their level of perception.
If you think, you should stop explaining, then stop.

Continuing with the explanation is a waste of time because
neither of you understands each other and will not lead you
to a good conversation. Instead, have some time off
explaining, then you can later discuss the same topic again
if you think you and your listener are on the same level of
perception to talk about the topic you discussed a while
ago.

13. Today Will Never
Come Again
Today will never come again - Be a blessing, be a friend, encourage
someone, take time to care and let your words heal and not wound.
A day is composed of 24 hours. An hour is composed of

60 seconds. Every second counts to complete a day. Every
second happens only once and will never be repeated.
Unless someone has already invented a time machine. Ok, I
am just kidding! But seriously, today will never come again.
What is today will be called as past tomorrow. We can never
go back and undo what has happened.
Now what do we do with today? First thing that will

come to our mind is to enjoy as this might be our last day.
But we do not believe that, because only God knows when
your last day will be. So instead, let us talk about how we
can maximize our day with God as the center of our goals.

Be a Blessing
First, is be a blessing. I am writing this article now so I
can bless every reader. All the contents I wrote and sharing
to the world are meant to bless everybody. You may ask,
how can you bless others as well if you are not a writer? You
can easily bless someone just by praying for them. Or doing
any good for them. Being a blessing does not always mean
that you have to give someone a material thing. You could
give an emotional advise to someone who is depressed.
That leads us to the second thing which is, be a friend.
Be a Friend
Being a friend to someone makes both of you a winner.
Having a friend means you can count on each other
whenever the other party is on his or her ups or downs. You
can never live happily if you are alone. Have a friend you
can count on, and be a friend whom they can trust. This will
now bring us to the next piece. It is about encouraging
someone.

Encourage Someone
Of course, not all encouragement are good. That is why
you have to choose carefully who you are befriending. If you
have a friend who is confused, this is where you have to
step in, and encourage to do the right thing that he or she
knows how to do, and not to force them by something that
will not benefit them. You have to encourage someone who
is emotionally down by providing real world advises and
applications. Make a meaningful life and help someone in
need by using the power of encouragement.
Take Time to Care

Taking time to care is like loving yourself. It is about you
and your loved ones. Loving yourself means eating on time,
having time management, sleeping on time, and waking up
early, exercising regularly, saving money for the future,
re-investing your saved money, etc. Always remember, you
cannot love someone, unless you love yourself first. You are
created as an image of God. Taking care of yourself means
you love God, your creator.

Let your Words Heal and Not Wound

All the words that come out of our mouth are very
powerful. It can heal or destroy a relationship. Whenever
you are angry, do not decide to talk yet. It is wiser to stay
silent, and filter the words you are going to throw. Tell the
person you are talking to, all these filtered words in a gentle
manner. Heal your conversation with the person and do not
make him an enemy by wounding him.
Words pierce like a sword through a heart. Words can

either be used as a healing instrument or as a deadly
weapon. Be careful what words you will be using.
Today will be a past of tomorrow. Maximize your

present and always start your day by dialing a toll-free,
wireless communication straight to the heavens, and talk to
our heavenly Father. Plan your day with Him and you will be
blessed.

14. The Truths Behind
Every Lies
Definition of stupid: knowing the truth, seeing the truth but still
believing the lies.
Defining stupid is somewhat negative to our ears which

is not pleasant to hear if we are defined as stupid. But
knowing what stupid means will help us prevent do
something that is not good or do something better than we
are used to be. It is called learning from our stupid mistakes.
We have all been there, and most of the times, we

commit mistakes due to our silliness of accepting the truth
b e c a u s e s u r e l y e n o u g h , t r u t h h u r t s ! 
We know the truth and we have seen it with our own

eyes, but we still prefer to accept the lies. If truth hurts, we
are sure to accept a lie, even if it is indeed a lie. Accepting
the truth requires an ocean like courage if it is negative.
I have researched a number of list which we have difficul-

ties accepting the truth along with the lies that are com-

monly used to avoid it and the courage that we should have.

And I have to remind you, if one of those lists is the one you
are encountering now, I encourage you to be more positive
and look the bigger picture which is God loves you more
than ever, and this article is a wake up call for you to stand
up and face the truth.
Truth #1 - Difficulty to Accept that your

Sweetheart has Cheated on you
The Lie: "My partner loves me very much and I will hang
into it because I know we are destined for each other." 
What We Should do: Instead of accepting the lies, we
should accept that if you are cheated, your partner will not
be trustworthy anymore and thus continuing your
relationship with him/her will be chaotic and will be stressful
everyday. And destiny is something that is we are about to
make ourselves, not something already defined. It is better
to find someone else rather than sticking to a love which is
not true.
Truth #2 - You Own your Own Problems

The Lie: “I am poor now, because my parents are not
r i c h . "

What We Should do: There is a quote from Bill Gates,

and I quote, "If you born poor, it is not your mistake, but if
you die poor it is your mistake". Do not blame others
especially your parents if you are poor now. Problems lies
from within, and if you accept that the accountability is
yours, you will do something about it. Blaming others is like
having an excuse from plotting a solution to a problem.
Accept that the problem is yours, and plan the solutions,
and execute it one at a time.
Truth #3 - No One Owe’s you Anything

The Lie: "People always approaches me because I am
talented and have the can do attitude all the time" 
What We Should do: If we are over-confident to
ourselves, and there is something that did not go the way
we expect things to be, we will face a lot of
disappointments. And because of this, we are going to start
blaming others of our incapacity of doing these things.
There is really no shortcuts, and we should prove that we
are worthy by earning the skills and experiencing it rather
than telling to ourselves that we can do everything because
I am talented. Accept the fact that there are a lot of things to
learn in this world, and no one owe’s you anything.

Truth #4 - Goals Does not Have Shortcuts

The Lie: "There should be shortcuts for me to be rich, I
s h o u l d fi n d i t . " 
What We Should do: There are a lot of quick rich
schemes out there, that you will just invest some portion of
your money and it will grow in a matter of days, weeks or
months. In a year, your money will grow more than 100%.
Sounds very interesting right? While you are working
full-time, your money will grow by itself! I have tried this, and
my money just went like a bubble in the air, with no sign of
life. Really, there is no shortcut. If you want to succeed and
be rich someday, you should have a structures and plans
which require a long-term hard work. Some of the starting
point of your goals is to study stock market investing, be an
entrepreneur, or have an executive position in a company
you do not own.
Truth #5 - Superheroes is Not there all the

Time to Save you
The Lie: “I know I can contact my parents to be there to
s u p p o r t m e fi n a n c i a l l y . " 
What We Should do: We often referred our parents as

our personal superheroes whenever we faced something

that is out of our control, especially when we lack money to
fund ourselves due to our own wrongdoing, eg. lazy to find
a job. This is of course commonly fine from the parents, but
not all the time. If you are already independent from them,
do not be a parasite to them anymore. They have their own
lives, and their responsibility to you ended after you
graduated from college. It is now your responsibility to find a
job, and accept your problems just like what has been
discussed in truth #2.
Truth #6 - Dreams Don’t Come True Just by

Thinking Them
The Lie: "Someday, I will be a business tycoon, running
m u l t i p l e b u s i n e s s e s o n d i ffe r e n t c o u n t r i e s . " 
What We Should do: Dreaming is the first step of having
a goal, as it pictures in your mind what you want in your life.
But also, thinking of them without actions, is not a healthy
daydreaming. You are just escaping the reality with it.
Setting up your goals through dreaming is a very good thing
to do but you should also list all the actions to accomplish
the daily goals. Always remember, each big goals has small
goals in it. You should do the small goals everyday, to reach

and accomplish the bigger goal. It always starts with smaller

steps to reach your dreams. Do it everyday!
Truth #7 - Love Yourself First Before Loving

Someone Else
The Lie: "I will die for you, that’s how I love you!" 
What We Should do: The death of a person to show
how much he/she loves someone, could be a lie. You can
never truly love someone, unless you love yourself first.
Whatever we are doing to ourselves, such as love, will
reflect to what we do on our daily lives, such as loving
someone. If we keep on putting down ourselves because
we lack self-confidence, how can we lift up the spirit of the
one we love? Of course, I am not saying that in everything
you do, you should always be first. What I am saying is,
everything you do that will benefit others, there should be
some piece of it, even the very small part, that you will
benefit also. Here is the saying goes, "it is better to give
than to receive." When we are giving, we are also receiving
subconsciously. It is a win-win situation if you truly love
yourself, because you can also truly love someone.

Accepting the truth requires an ocean like courage if it is

negative. If you want to draw courage, you can easily find it.
Deep in your hearts, there is a courage. Seek it while talking
to our Heavenly Father while praying.
Do not be afraid to accept the truth, because lies will not

set you free rather will keep you imprisoned. Free yourself,
have courage, have faith with God, and accept the truth.

15. Live a Simple Life and
be Generous to the Needy
Don’t complicate life. You’re here for a short time. Do what you like
to do, don’t harm others and help people people if you can.
Larry, a single, young and lonely businessman who loves

entering business venture all the time. He is known to be a
terror, and always criticizes employees whenever they
committed a mistake, business partners are not exempted.
Larry will do anything to expand his territory in the business
world even if it means to step another people’s lives.
He does not have true friends he can count on, his family
does not want to be with him, because Larry does care is
about producing money only. He even told his family that he
does not need any of them.
The Take-Off
One day, during his travel to another business site, he
suffered an accident and now cannot walk. Larry is lucky
because he is still alive, the accident is very serious. A

provincial bus has hit his car, and Larry was hit directly. No
major casualties in the accident. Only Larry has received
some scratches on his shoulder and arms, but nothing is
serious. He became unconscious, and had no idea that he
was rushed into the hospital.
Larry opened his eyes, and to his surprised he is already

in the hospital. He couldn't even believe that he is still alive.
More to his surprise that he is still alive, is that there is no
serious damaged the accident caused him. Only minor
scratches. No broken bones, whatsoever.
Larry does not have a God, he only praises money. But

this time, for some reason, a tear dropped into his right
eye. He looked above, closed his eyes, and he whispered
the words, Thank You, with tears flowed as he closed his
eyes tightly.
The nurse attending her has seen it, was touched and
told to another nurse what she saw. The whole team of
nurse is touched because they knew how hardheartedly this
man is. One nurse has voluntarily called Larry’s parents,
who by the way is at the age of 75. The nurse told the
parents what happened.

In a couple of hours, the first visitors of Larry has arrived

to the hospital which is his whole family. Larry is surprised
again! A humble and smiling Larry which his family saw this
time.
A face of being sorry for hurting the people he truly

loves, and a face of being thirsty for true love. His parents
hugged him followed by his siblings. It was a loving reunion!
Second Chance
Larry realized that God gave him a second life, and
realized that life is too short to complicate with many
businesses he currently possessed.
He remembered, during his childhood days, he visions

himself to be rich so he can bless others by sharing the
money he has to the poor. Therefore after he was
discharged in the hospital, he sold all his business shares.
And has decided that 90% of his riches is to be used to
build a foundation for abandoned children and elderly
around the country.
He held a conference for all his employees and business

partners to give an apology to everybody and informed
everyone that he is stepping down the corporate world and

will work full-time in a foundation he built. What he loves

now is not to enter new business ventures, but to help
people who needs love and care while having new set of
true friends.
This is Larry’s true vision that has become his mission to

be a light of blessings into this world. He has succeeded the
first part of his life - to be rich, but he forgot the second part
- it is to give back and used the money he gained to bless
the world.
Larry lives a life today that is fulfilled because his vision

and mission are simple but has a gigantic meaning.

17. There is No Perfect
Time to Pray
Talk to God through short little prayers throughout your day. Every
prayer doesn’t have to be long and eloquent.
We live in a modern-day where we are connected with

each other via Internet networks, cables, wireless
connections, social media sites, etc. This particular
communication to our friends, loved ones or long-lost best
friend requires a fee to be paid before it will work. Humanity’s
invention is really awesome, but it is not perfect.
 
This invention surely have changed the world, but it is
second to the great invention there ever is. I am talking about
the prayer invented by the absolutely greatest inventor of all,
God. With prayer, you can connect to heaven without cost,
without delays, without traffic, without time constraints.
Everything is free, and you can dial anytime with ease.

Sounds so very easy and effective but most people are

forgetting its convenience.
As stated by the title of this article, there is no perfect

time to pray. Every prayer counts, and God is pleased every
time we call His name. Just like building relationships with
others where they are pleased whenever we call them to say
thank you, give compliments or ask for help. Our God is
very pleased when we call His name many times during the
day.
In addition, whenever we pray, we can always feel the

answer instantly. If we feel heavy, we suddenly feel lighter. If
we have problems, we suddenly jump into solutions. If we
are very thankful, more blessings are ready to be delivered
straight from the heavens to your door. Of course, every
prayer should always be accompanied with faith. If you have
faith while praying, you will be sincere, focused, and will not
be distracted by anything.
You may be asking, God does not provide what you

wished for, or what you asked for. My friend, let me tell you,
God always answer our prayers. God's answers are always
like in the following sections.

17. There is no perfect time to pray
First Answer is Yes

It means God answered yes to your prayer. It is aligned
in His plan, and this is good for you. The moment God
answered yes, it means you are 100% ready to what you
have prayed. Continue praying when God answered yes. Be
thankful because what you are praying is aligned in God’s
plans. It means you are applying His commandments in
your life and you are in good path.
Second Answer is No
We misinterpret this answer all the time. We think God
does not answer. Well, in fact, God answered no. It only
means that this particular prayer will not be good for you nor
benefit you. Worse, what you asked in your prayer will put
you in harm's way. Let us say you really love this particular
person, he/she is very kind to you and tells you "I love you"
everyday. Then suddenly, he/she vanished with no
explanations at all. You cried the whole day, then after a
year, you heard that this person you once loved is put into
prison because he/she was involved into drug trafficking.
God loves you always, and He knows what is best for you.
Just trust Him. He will say Yes, if it is best for you.

And the Third is Yes, but Not at this Time

This often is the most common answer we receive from
God. Like with the answer no, we mistakenly interpret this
answer. We think God does not hear what we are praying for
all the time. The truth is, God always hear us. And God
always does the right thing. This time, God’s feedback is
yes, but not at this time. This means, you have to wait
because the best is yet to come. What you are praying for is
good for you, but God has a better plan from what you are
praying for. It is like you are asking for silver, but if you will
patiently wait and continue your faith, God will give you
gold.
You are asking to be promoted as a manager, but if you

persist, you will have your own company. You are asking for
your spiritual community to grow in members, but if you
continue from what you are doing, slowly helping the
community’s growth. One day in God’s time, your
community will not just grow in members, but will also be
recognized worldwide as a trusted spiritual community.

17. There is no perfect time to pray
Always Pray
Put this into action, always pray everyday. It doesn’t
have to be long and eloquent. The simpler the prayer the
better. Connecting to God is always free, and can be done
anytime.
Praying always lift our spirits with Him, and provides

guidance into everyday’s challenges. Praying all the time
recharges our spiritual battery. God is our source of power.
And to connect with him is through prayers.
Pray now and notice the miracles in your life.

18. Always Put God at

Life with God is like a Sharpened Pencil, there is a point.
There was a colony a long time ago who have stepped

into this world. A colony of hardworking creatures. Before
the story go far, the said colony is an ant colony. Even
before the existence of humanity, ants are already living here
on Earth. They are hardworking creatures wherein they are
sent out everyday to work and find food, or stay at their
basement to dig more hole for their expansion.
 
In the colony, there are also multiple groups. Groups that
are assigned to different places; north, south, east and
west. The ant's routine is to work, to eat and to rest. A
normal creature would do for a living.
They have their superior, their supreme leader, their

queen - to whom all instructions are coming. The queen will
plan, instruct and command all the groups in her colony.

The queen also acts as the brain. Which means ants has to
follow anything the queen wants them to do.
Hardworking Colony
When the rainy season is about to approach, all groups
in the colony will work hard to save for more food. They will
work overtime. It is because the colony will not be able to
gather their food during rainy season. The groups in the
colony will have a contest on which group has the highest
accumulated food before the rainy season begins. The
winning group will have a reward from their queen. The
reward is a vacation. The ants from the winning group will
ride a leaf flowing into the water, relaxing their way to pay
off their hard work.
One day, a really strong storm hit the mansion of the

colony. The colony have prepared for this during the
summer. They have enough food to last until the rainy
season is over. But the storm is so strong, that it flushed out
all of their stored food that even the colony is flushed
outside their territory. The queen died, and the groups in the
colony that once are sticking together are scattered in
different locations.

18. Always put God at the center of your life
In the story, the normal ants have no sense of deciding

for themselves because they have their queen to do that for
them. Their brain is like a pointless pencil. The queen died,
the life of the surviving ants has no point now.
A Life with Meaning

We are so blessed that we are not ants. We are created
by God to have our brain be used everyday in our lives. We
are also blessed because we have a God to worship. The
ants only worship their queen. Their queen will die anytime,
and surviving ants will have no point in living. Our God died,
but He has risen after three days. It shows that humanity
has their foundation built many years ago.
In the present time, there are a lot hardworking people

who are preparing for their future. Better future for their
spouse, kids, or for their family. They will even work
overtime, then later will take a vacation leave. The question
here is, are they living with God’s purpose for them? Are
they prepared when judgment day comes?
Friends, let us always remember that working hard

without God has no real purpose. In a matter of second, you
will get bored, you will get tired, stress will eat you, and as a

result will give you negative energies that will cause

illnesses. All of your savings in your bank account saved for
your loved ones, will be used to pay your hospital fees. It is
not a threat but reality.
Always put in mind and heart to live a life in which God is

present. This will make your life happier, fulfilled and
meaningful.
Always make God as the center of your life. Life without

God is pointless like an unsharpened pencil. Be like a pencil
that can write its reasons to live with God as your
cornerstone.

Wait and have faith, God provides.
I have a very good friend since college named Carol, not

her real name though. We did not lose contact even after we
have graduated, up to now that we are both working in an IT
industry, but not the same company. This friend of mine is
positive in her own ways, loves her family so much and a
hardworking woman.
Through her words and actions, you will notice easily

that she is also religious, kind, and honest. She has a full-
time job, and currently has a green portfolio in the stock
market. I haven’t seen the figures though, but she's one of
the successful investors the way she speaks about it.
Shocking Message
One day she sent me a message, asking if I could
somehow refer a boyfriend to her. I was shocked at first!

This is the first time she asked me this favor! Knowing her
for a very long time, I know this woman would not dare to
ask me this. For few seconds I tried to feel her. I understand
her because for quite a long a time, she never had a
boyfriend. I can feel her loneliness now. And so, I took a
deep breath, thinking what to reply. I have switched myself
from a friend to a Dr. Love mode. Are you ready for my
response? Keep reading.
My Response
Suggesting someone to be your boyfriend will not be
good for you. It is like gambling where you are unsure on
where to place your bet. It is because you barely know the
person that I will recommend. You might suffer or you might
be happy. If you suffered, you will curse me. I am the one
who, in the first place, introduced this guy to you. If you
became happy, then God should have told me to introduce
someone right away after you asked me. But that is not the
case. I hesitated because I know I cannot recommend a guy
to be your boyfriend. It is more of you who will suffer in this
game of love if I have done so. The best thing in life is where
you will meet your forever partner God has assigned, in His

him in God’s mysterious but powerful ways.
Then my friend replied - thank you my friend, you

opened my eyes. That is one of the things that I really like in

Open your Heart and Mind

Like my friend Carol, sometimes we are down despite of
many blessings we are receiving. With this blessings we
received everyday, we are still looking for some things that
we currently do not possess.
For my friend, it is love life that is missing for her. Instead

of suggesting her to a guy, what I did is to open her eyes
and see the reality. God provides everything, but God needs
everyone to have faith in His plans, timings and ways.

20. Believe in Yourself,
You are an Image of God
Believe yourself first, before others will believe you.
Being with someone who does not value your ideas

most the time is an act of helplessness for yourself. Either
you always follow what they ask you to do or your
suggestions are always disregarded.
I know of a two persons who are business partners who

had this kind of situation, Justin and Laura, both female.
They were business partners for four years, friends for more
than five years since high school. We can tell that these two
persons are best of friends.
Friends and Partners

They started a manufacturing firm and for the first two
years, the business grew better than their expectations.
Justin acts as the head of operations, and Laura is the one
who manages the overall business because she owns 70%
of the company. Laura’s expertise is more on accounting so
she is the one who also manages the finances of the

business. Everyday is a usual business day for the both of

them as they continue to grow with 40 employees at that
time. It was a tough, and busy day-to-day work for the both
of them.
In a business, there is always what we call, the good

times, and the bad times. It was the 3rd year of the
business, when Laura and Justin agreed to have an
expansion of their manufacturing firm, creating new factory
in a different location. It was Laura’s idea to expand to
manufacture more products in a timely manner. At first,
Justin did not agree, because experience wise both of them
are not yet ready. This was the beginning of their dilemma.
The Downfall
The new factory is built and so new employees are hired.
Expenses grew, but the sales did not as competition on their
line of business is stiff.
Justin, as the operations manager, sees the problem as

menacing and suggested Laura to cut employees in half;
close the new factory temporarily so they can offset their
losses; and they should act quickly. Then the remaining
employees from the new factory will be transferred to the

old factory. But Laura became upset and insisted that they
should do the business as usual, and she knows they can
offset their losses by doing the same thing. Justin told her
facts, examples, and other related problems on the
operations. And so, and so and so… At the end of the day,
Laura did not accept Justin’s recommendation and they
proceeded with the business as usual.
In addition, they borrowed money from the bank to

continue their day-to-day operations, which Justin again
has opposed but Laura as the accounting expert has
manipulated Justin’s mind by discussing a very technical
proposal.
After two years, they run out of budget for the new
factory. Justin and Laura faced a debt which they cannot
pay and so they were forced to sell the first factory they
have. In other words, the manufacturing firm has closed.
Partnership did not Work, Why?

How many times Justin’s side is rejected? It was many
times, not just stated on the story. I ask you to read again,
but this time, you have to read between the lines. You will
notice Justin is rejected all the time. They are partners, but

Laura is the boss, and she does not value the ideas of
Justin.
True enough, the business has prospered but due to the

act of recklessness and over-confidence to the part of
Laura, has brought the business into pieces. Justin became
a puppet ever since they started the company up to the last
breath of the business operations.
Justin cannot blame Laura’s behavior because she

follows all the time. Even if Justin is competent and she
knows her side of opposing Laura, by presenting new ideas
and solutions, she was not able to win because
subconsciously she also does not believe in herself.
Because if Justin does, Laura will not be able to manipulate
her.
Win with your Idea

Always remember, if you really believe your idea, it should
be more than 100%. So you can present it visually with cour-

Money is a very excellent servant but a terrible master - Barnum
Do you have money? If yes, it is likely that you will use it

someday to buy something, lend to someone, or just keep it
in your savings. Whatever your purpose is, it defines how
you manage money.
Many years ago, and still a common saying is that,

money is the root of all evil. Do you believe in that? For me,
it depends on the situation. By nature, money is good.
Money is everywhere.
Money is a necessity for everyone. With the use of

money, you can buy food, have a shelter, build infrastructure
for the government, and stabilize a nation’s economy. Those
are the positive traits of money if used effectively. But when
will money be the root of all evil? These will be the negative
sides. If you worship money, you are stepping into the
devil’s zone. All the negativities in this world will attract and

receive within you. You will love all worldly things instead of
loving God's creation. Greediness, marriage destruction,
family feuds, and market or an economy collapse. These are
just few of what money will bring you, if you worship it.
Let’s read the quote from Barnum one more time. Money
is a very excellent servant, but a terrible master. Truly it is!
Money is a blessing and a grace from God. So that we

can live and enjoy life to the full. If money is our servant, it
will be very loyal. A loyal servant will be there, and will
attract more of it, and will flow into your hands like a water.
Abundant source of money, if you are a good master. On the
other hand, money is a terrible master. The person become
slaves, you don’t have any control over it. No abundance
source here because, what you have right now will be gone
as fast as snap of a finger. You cannot control it. One day
you will wake up in the streets with no house, no friends,
you don’t have anything, even a single coin in your pocket.
This is how terrible master a money could be. Money has

no life in it, no spirit, a mere object that could be used by
the devil to possess the person who is very attached into it.

Money as a Master
Let me cite a story of a family. An ideal family who owns
their own house and lot, with car. The father is an OFW
(overseas Filipino worker), and he earns a decent income for
his family. But here’s the thing. The father is earning
P200,000 a month including all the bonuses, P150,000 is
sent to his family. The remaining P50,000 is used for his
living expenses. The money sent to the family is managed
by the mother. They have five (5) children by the way, three
(3) children are in elementary while the other two (2) are not
yet in school.
The budget system of the mother goes like this: 50% is

for daily expenses, 30% for monthly dues, 15% for wants,
and 5% is kept in the bank. You may be thinking, why there
is no allocated budget for tuition fees? The mother source of
tuition fees is on the 5%. The one that is kept in the bank.
Whenever there is a new trend in the world, such as latest
gadgets, bags, or any fashion related goodies, they will
have it instantly. Either bought cash, or by using a credit
card. This system went on for straight 10 years.
One day, there was a market crash, and a global

recession is visible for most country. The country where the

father works is affected. All Filipinos were removed, and

they were sent home. The family is shocked. They don’t
know what to do. They don’t have any money to use,
because they have no savings! The 5% in the budgeting
system is allotted for tuition fees. But they have a lot of
appliances at home. So they decided to sell it one by one.
Including bags, mobile phones not being used, and their
car. After a year, they also sold their house and lot. Now,
they are renting far away from their previous house to avoid
embarrassment.
You may be asking, how they could live now? They don’t
have money anymore. What their father did, was to borrow
money from a friend, from their siblings and from their
parents. But the same budget system is followed.
Sad but true. This is the reality. If you cannot manage

money, money will manage you! But we know that money is
a terrific manager. Therefore, you will end up penniless.
Most of us does not know how to manage money, this is
because this is not taught in school. Once again, money is a
blessing and a grace from God. We are the assigned
steward to manage it, not own it or be attached into it. If

owned or attached ourselves with money, we are

worshipping it.
We cannot serve two masters. We can only serve one, it

is either God or money. To live a life that is meaningful and
fulfilled, choose God as the master, and choose money as
the servant.
Money as the Servant

In the story, no matter how big your income is, but if you
have a poor financial literacy, it will be a tragic life. In that
sense, you will have to follow a budgeting system like the
one sampled below. This can be followed as it is, but you
can also alter some of it, except for the first allocation which
is the generosity funds. Generosity funds should always be
present to any kind of budgeting system you will follow.
Generosity Funds - 10%

Generosity funds which we can also tagged as
tithing keeps you from being attached to money. By giving,
you are blessing the world that will attract abundance in
your life.

Money in this category is the measurement of how

literate you are financially. You are giving not by force but
with love. This money can also be called as an investment
for eternity. Because in this type of budgeting, you are
honoring and glorifying God by accepting that you are the
steward, and He is the owner.
Emergency fund - 40%

This fund is used for emergency purposes only. This can
be used if you will not have any source of income in the
coming months. Emergency fund should cover at least six
months and whenever you need it, the money should easily
be obtained. Formula for emergency fund: current
income times the months you want to be covered (should
be at least six).
Investment - 10%
Save this 10% and invest to any investment vehicle. It is
often said that, it does not matter how much your income is,
what matters is how much you save and grow the money
you saved. I will recommend to invest into the stock market.
You have the emergency fund covered you, no need to save

in the bank. But to secure you emergency fund, you can

deposit some of it in the bank.
Make stock market your new bank. In some books

that I've read, they encourage to complete your emergency
fund first. But you can start small with your investment now
while completing your six-month emergency fund.
Expenses - 30%
All types of expenses will be here. Please take note that
only those that are “needs” are in this category. Now, you
would be scratching your head while asking this question,
"How about my wants"? Don't you worry, we will allocate a
budget for your wants.
Wants - 10%
You can still buy wants in this budget system wherein
you are guilt free. But it should still be strictly followed, only
10% of your total income. If you want to increase the
amount of money to fill in the wants allocation, you should
increase your whole income. It could be either by working
hard to get promotion, or have another source of income
such as establishing a passive business.

Passive business generates passive income, where even

you are asleep, money is still being produced.
Start with Budgeting

Budgeting is a very effective method to tame your fellow
servant which is money. It may be hard at first, but if you get
used to it and becomes a habit, you can effectively manage
your money. The negativity money brings you will be out of
the scene already. You will live a happy and fulfilled life.
That’s not all, you are not using money anymore just for
your own, but for the rest of humanity. I would also suggest
as you go on with an effective budget system, also take in
consideration to increase the percentage of generosity
funds. The more you give the more you receive. Not just to
receive more money, but to receive more love from those
people you helped.
There is a lot more than money, (which is highlighted in

the next section) it is love and the way we become like Je-
sus here on Earth. Keep the worldly things as themselves.
Use them as an instrument to do good deeds. And always
serve God as your one true master.

There are many misconceptions about the meaning of

being successful. For many people, it means having a car, a
house or a business where a money machine resides.
Having a lot of money for some people means freedom, and
they can call themselves successful.
The truth of the matter is, the more money you have, the
more your life will be at risk because of sleepless nights
mostly caused by a never-ending night assignment called,
"counting your money". Yes, you will never have freedom if
you are so attached with your money. It will give you a lot of
negative stress whether the flow is spending or receiving.
There are a lot known business people who looks older than
they really are. The reality is, the more money you are

entrusted for, the more effort and energy you need to

manage this.
Many fell into the trap of success that is about making

more money everyday so they just keep on working and
working, day in and day out for them to be successful
someday. I’m not saying that it is wrong, but it is not
enough. Money is no use if you cannot make any difference
in other people’s lives.
Life's Greatest Lesson

From the book of Hal Urban entitled Life’s Greatest
Lesson, he said that money isn’t all there is to being
successful. Many people who makes money whether legally
or not, are blinded due to their massive wants for money.
There are scandals in the stock market for inside trading,

company shatters because of the business manipulation to
be at the top, and senior executives that had neglected their
family lives to pursue professional goals. The common
denominator for all these people is they are not happy. They
have money, power, property and status. But are not happy.
They are missing the essence of being successful. They got
addicted and became slaves of money and the things that

act of receiving. Life is full of challenges, but what a
successful being will do is to act and face the problems
using their capabilities and talents to the fullest. The
capabilities of these people will be enhanced everyday
as they use it. Successful people do not need to be on top
every time. Success requires you to be at your best in every
life situation.
True Meaning of Success

Hal Urban pointed out on what successful people do in
some of the most important areas of their life:

attitude towards life.

There is an employee with a name of Freddie around 45

years old. He has got a day job and physically you
could say that he is not rich because his attire everyday is
simple, nothing fancy and he always have a packed lunch.
Though sometimes, he will accompany his office mates for
some snacks.
Daily, his office mates would look on him with pity.

Judging him by the looks and the way he spends his money.
Later they know the secrets of Freddie. One day during a
conference, Freddie is invited to be one of the speakers.
The topic is about "Conquering Challenges in Life with Tight
Budgeting". Everyone is shocked why would Freddie
volunteer on this kind of topic.
Freddie has shared his story as the main content of his

talk. Here is an excerpt of it.

The True Reason

I am Freddie, and I am a normal employee for 25 years.
On my personal life, I have two sons who are currently in
college. And by the way, I am a widow, and therefore I am
single but not available because I need to raise my two sons.
Both of my sons are in college, the first one is in 1st year
while the other one is in 3rd year. It is true, living this kind of
life is difficult because I have to do it alone. But I am never
alone, because I know everyday, God is with me and my
children. To tell you the truth, with my salary that is almost
dedicated for my son's tuition fees, I can still give donations
to the church. We can still have some time to have an
inexpensive out-of-town bonding.
If there's something left on my monthly budget, I will

save it, and invest it on the stock market. I am investing to

Since then, I can only invest what is left. Sometimes, 2%,

vestor for 25 years. I don't want to be arrogant to tell you

millionaire! Why I am not retiring? Because I have planned a

market was during the conference. But right after his
speech, there comes his manager and asked him how
much. His manager almost fell into his chair when he knew
how much it was. It will be a whopping 50 million, 4 years
from now after his two sons has finished their studies.
At the age of 49, Freddie can surely retire as a multi-

millionaire due to his strict budgeting and investments.
The Moral Lesson

We often judge others just by looking into their physical
appearances and the way they spend their money. We
should not do that because we don't know the real story
why they are like that.
Instead of judging, we can just simply be with them,

affirm them or help them if needed. In the case of Freddie,

A goal without a plan is just a wish
There is a friend of mine whose name is Eric. Eric is

intelligent and has a lot of ambitions in life. I remembered
when we were in high school, he used to tell me his
ambitions. One of his ambition that I can still remember is
he wanted to be a politician someday. He said, being a
politician has a great responsibility in the society. This friend
of mine is an active student in our school, he used to be
part of the student council as a vice president. His
involvement is very much visible. Not like me, I have a very
poor visibility during my high school days.
He used to invite me to join the student council, and to

be like him. But I rejected his offer, because there is no way
I can join them. I will not get any votes from any student. he
he he!!! Then we both laugh.

To be active in school activities means a lot to him. I

admire this friend of mine, the way he speaks and the way
he tell his goals in life. He is very motivating and inspiring.
After we finished high school and as we attended different
school in college, we lost contact. I haven’t heard any news
from him anymore.
Then one day, I saw him on a social media site. With very
much excitement I added him as a friend immediately, then
we started chatting. Just like any other friends who lost
contact, we greeted each other and I asked him, How are
you my long-lost friend? he replied, I am fine, and you? Like
I told you, the usual conversation between two people who
haven’t seen each other for years. But I didn’t ask too much
about what he is up now, because I want to meet him, and
know it personally from him. I am thinking this man should
be in politics now, and I am pretty much excited to share
with him my career status in my field. So I asked him to

The day of the catch up meeting with my friend arrived.
From a distance, there was a man wearing loose pants and

table. The man is smiling, and so I looked upon other
people, and no one is looking into this guy. All I can say to
myself is, Who is this guy?.
As he approached nearly, I finally recognized the person,

he is Eric, with writings on his shirt, “I am the man”. I can
see tattoos on his arm as he is few meters from me now.
I stood up, and gladly greeted him. “Hey Eric, it’s been a
while, and I was not able to recognize you.” Then he said,
“Oh yeah, maybe because we haven’t seen each other for
years man!” (with a fist bump) We sat, ordered some drinks
and continued our conversation.
Me: It is really been a while, what are you up now Eric? 

Eric: I am a busy man now. I am always with my friends who
are battling using words. If not daily it is a weekly activity. 
Me: Battling using words? What is that? 
Eric: Oh! I see that your career does not let you know this
kind of game where there are two groups who will battle
using words. It is called battle of words using rap. 
Me: Wow! That sounds cool. So you are saying that, you are

Me: That seems to be very great. Could you tell me how that
battle of words works? 
Eric: It is simple, it is like a dancing competition wherein you
need a group. This group will work as a team to deliver an
insane words to their opponents. To bring them down and
embarrass using the words. We often use foul words to
bring in more strength into the statement. The team who
gets a lot of shout and applause will win and take home the
money. 
Me: Oh! That looks awful Eric. To bring down and embarrass
the opponents vocally. 
Eric: That is the game man! You should sometime see it, I
am sure you will like it. 
Me: Alright, that is not really my game. he he he! By the way,
I really thought that you are a politician now. The way you
speak and act during our high school days, I knew you will
be a very effective public servant. 
Eric: Ah that thing? That is really my goal at that moment,

during our high school days. And I still wish to be a politician

someday. But looks like it is hard to be a real politician. My
vision started to change after I was exposed into rapping. I
skipped classes to hangout with friends. Rapping here and
there throughout the day. This hobby has become my bread
and butter today. I cannot risk any longer to study again.
How I really wish to be a real politician, to help my people
and my society. But looks like, it is not for me anymore. If
being a politician is really for me, then I should be a public
servant now. A mayor or a senator maybe.
Only a Wish
We both laugh, but deep inside, I pity Eric. But our
conversation went on. The friend Eric I used to know is very
much different from Eric I am talking with now.
This present Eric has no plans but has wishes. The past
Eric has many ambitions, is committed and enthusiastic. I
started to realize what’s wrong. He has ambitions and goals,
but it is purely just a wish. It is like saying, “I wish to have a
house, I wish to have a car, I wish to have a beautiful wife”.
Really there is nothing wrong to wish. Everyone wishes

everyday. What is wrong, is if you don’t structure and layout

a plan to achieve your goal.
My friend said, being a politician is hard. When he said

this to himself, his brain stops thinking solutions. All he can
do is just to wish. Instead of saying that being a politician is
hard, he should have said, being a politician is hard but I
have to do what I need to do to achieve it.
When you say that to yourself, your brain will start to

work, and you will able to think intelligently. Getting out of
your comfort zone requires planning and a lot of
perseverance.
Eric also told me: looks like, it is not for me. This is
another poor outlook in life if you really want to achieve
something. When you think that this goal is not for you,
once again, your brain stops working. You will not be able to
attract the blessings from the universe. You will be satisfied
from what you have now, and will regret later because your
goals were not fulfilled.
Target the Goals
We have to always remember. Life is a choice! What you
see is what get. Whatever you plan, if actions are performed

on a regular basis, will be a tangible thing someday.

Planning makes you focus on your goal. It makes you avoid
unnecessary things in life that acts as a distractions on your
goal.
My friend Eric is distracted by his rap community. Clearly

he has no focus on his goals, because he has no plans to
follow everyday. A goal is not a 50-meter run. It is a
kilometer run which requires planning with the assistance
from being persistent and by having a proper mindset.

fire him.
Undaunted by the failure, Jobs founded a new company,

NeXT, which was eventually acquired by Apple. Once back
at Apple, Jobs proved his capacity for greatness by
reconstructing the company’s image and taking the Apple
brand to new heights. Plans has been made to reinvent the

Colonel Harland Sanders, the founder of KFC was
turned down one-thousand and nine times before his
chicken was accepted once! He was a retired general at the

years, at the age of 65, he found himself without money. He
retired and received his first social security check which
was for one hundred and five dollars.
Col. Sanders was a fellow who really loved to share his

fried chicken recipe. He is very positive about the recipe be-

will travel door to door to every restaurant to sell his recipe,
but after 1009th rejection, he got a yes!
It is truly amazing that a retired Colonel at the age of 65

has started to persevere and believe in his own recipe that
built a global fast food chain empire.
Sylvester Stallone Went from Rags to Riches.

Stallone was a struggling actor in every definition. Things
got so bad that he even ended up homeless. Yes, he slept

or afford food. His lowest point came when he tried to sell
his dog at the liquor store to any stranger. He didn’t have
money to feed the dog anymore and he sold it at $25 only.
He says he walked away crying. Two weeks later, he saw a
boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner
and that match gave him the inspiration to write the script
for the famous movie, ROCKY. He wrote the script for 20
hours! He tried to sell it and got an offer for $125,000 for the
script. But he had just one request. He wanted to be the
main actor in the movie. But the studio said no. They
wanted a real star.
A few weeks later, the studio offered him $250,000 for

the script. He refused. They even offered $350,000. He still
refused. They wanted his movie, but not him. He said no. He
had to be in that movie.

the script and let him star in it! The rest is history! The movie
won Best Picture, Best Directing and Best Film Editing at
the prestigious Oscar Awards. He was even nominated for
BEST ACTOR! The Movie ROCKY was even inducted into
