Effectiveness of Bio-Activator Yeast and Bio-Activator Stale Rice Water in the Composting of Organic Waste in Kadia urban village, Kendari City.
Formation of Organic Waste into Compost is organic waste decomposition
process both assisted by decomposing microorganisms and naturally occurring. Organic Waste Composting has not been implemented maximally in big cities, small towns and villages. Data obtained in 2016, Kendari grouped into a medium-sized city, which is the level of waste is generated as much as 2.43 liters per person per day. Kendari City with a population of 357,921 inhabitants, producing 221.91 m3 / day of waste generation, this amount is obtained from the number of people multiplied by the production of waste per person divided by one thousand per day. From year to year the amount of waste production in Kendari City is increasing; this is in line with the increase of population. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of bio-activator yeast and bio-activator stale rice water in the composting of organic waste. This research is pre experiment using Static Group Comparison design by giving treatment to experiment group which then followed by second measurement (post-test) then the result of measurement is compared with result of measurement at control group in composting from organic waste. Compost with yeast bio-activator formed on the all 7-9. Compost with stale water bio activator formed on the 10th day of 12th. Compost without bio activator formed on 14-16th day. The Suggestion In This Research is for the next researcher can research about variation of yeast bio activator type and concentration of dose of yeast bio activator to the length of time of composting from organic waste.
