legal services in Dallas, Texas. She specializes in family law. Her practice targets divorce, custody,
custody and child support modifications, suits affecting the parent-child relationship, enforcement and
contempt of existing orders. She has the experience to knowledgeably address some of the more complex
issues relating to families. These include asset tracing, dealing with family-owned business entities,
corporate involvement, inter-spousal torts and family psychological issues. Ms. McCurley champions the
team approach so important to the holistic approach of Shackelford Law.

Ms. McCurley has earned recognition on every Texas Super Lawyers listing since its inception in 2003,
receiving special recognition among the Top 100 Lawyers in Texas in 2013, the Top 50 Female Lawyers
in Texas for 13 consecutive years, as well as being included eight times in the listing of the Top 100

Mary Jo has written numerous journal articles in her field and is a published author and frequent lecturer

Born on October 3, 1953 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Mary Jo obtained a B.A. from Centenary College
and a J.D. from St. Mary's University School of Law in 1979. She is Board Certified in Family Law by
the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She is affiliated with the A.A.M.L. and the S. B.T. In her spare
time Mary Jo enjoys hiking and jogging.
