Executive Summary

This project has been submitted to fulfill the requirement of my college in BBA programme of
the VNSGU.

The main objective of the project report is to find out “Study on Consumer Preference of Surat
city customers while buying and using Branded & Unbranded footwear.

There are many areas of study under this topic.First is the study of the overall footwear industry
on a global as well as domestic scale.Here we shall also discuss about the Branded footwear as
well as the unbranded ones.

Talking about the footwear industry,we can say that it’s a constantly evolving one. Newer and
newer designs, types and varieties are introduced in the market every now and then.

Shops which sell and market Unbranded footwear try to introduce new and new styles, designs in
footwear so as to keep their customers intact and make sure that they don’t switch on towards
Brands.

Every major footwear brand introduces new kind of footwear type as and when required.

For example,

Recently only Nike launched its new sports shoes series named “AIRMAX” which left behind
the trending Adidas shoe series “Adiprene”.

Footwear industry is a highly competitive one. Not only for the recognized branded footwear, but
also for the unbranded ones. Unbranded footwear faces competition on a domestic level where
the competitors and individual shops and sellers.

Here in this report, I shall further discuss consumer’s preferences of Surat city regarding use of
branded and unbranded footwear. In this research I shall use Primary method of data collection
and also secondary method to get theoretical guidelines and for better understanding of several
“Consumer preferences while buying and using branded and unbranded footwear” IV

aspects. A total of 200 questionnaires have been filled by Students, Businessmen, Housewives
and employees.
