Project in Engineering:

 MINI PROJECT: DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF PNEUMATIC SHEET BENDING

MACHINE.

 In this project the sheet bending is made with the help of V shaped knife and V shaped
groove base unit and face is applied on the job by the pneumatic cylinder. The
pneumatic is actuated by the 5/2 way directional control valve.

 The operating pressure required for this system is 5 to 6 bar. The maintenance required
for this system is less than the other systems.

 MAIN PROJECT: SETTING TIME REDUCTION FOR XLO-BORER MACHINE.

 By modifying the boring tool holders in the XLO-BORER machine, we reduced the tool
set up time. In the facing tool holder, we produce a ‘O-BLONG’ slot for improving the
mounting rigidity. A suggestion is given for the arrangement of tool rack.
 Above all suggestions, the overall time estimation for production is reduced by 101
minutes. Thus the production rate is increased by 20%-25%.
 The suggestion had been given to the officials of the Axles India Ltd where we did our
project. There they will study the cost and other intricacies of the installation of the new
suggestions in detail and the most effective method will be installed. The
implementations are accepted by officials and are working successfully.
 If some usefulness is derived out from this project towards the increase in the
productivity, less time consumption and desist the skilled labours. Hence the
performance of the XLO-BORER machine of the product is increased.
