1.0 Introduction
1.1 Company Overview

“Careplus (M) was incorporated in Malaysia under the Companies Act 1965 on 18 February 1991 as
a private limited company under its present name. It commenced its operations in 1991 trading by
buying gloves in bulk, improving the quality and thereafter selling the gloves to its customers.
Subsequently, in November 2001, it became the holding company of Perusahaan Pelindung Getah
(PPG) and is responsible for the distribution and marketing of its gloves and other related products.
On August 2, 2011 the company acquired a piece of land with buildings in the Senawang Industrial
Estate to be used as a glove manufacturing facility as well as corporate head office of Careplus Group
Berhad. In 2014 the company commenced manufacturing of latex and nitrile examination gloves.”

1.2 Current Situation

Recently, CEO of Careglove Global Sdn Bhd, Lim Kwee Shyan claims that the company has about
20 gloves production lines which are estimated to produce 2.4 billion gloves per year. (Tan, 2015)
Major of the gloves are sold to Latin-America, following by the Asia-Pacific.
Although the Malaysia is the largest glove manufacturing industry among the world yet Careplus has
not benefit from economic of scale due to strong competition. “Top Glove Corp Bhd, the world’s
largest glove company enables producing 44.6 billion pieces of gloves year instead of Careglove, 2.4
billion.” (Tan, 2015).
In addition, the global demand starts shift towards nitrile gloves and the volatile of latex price and
quality has affected the production output of Careglove which mainly manufacturing latex gloves.
Thus, it is necessary to increase the production output especially nitrile gloves as the global demand
will expecting a slightly growth 6% to 8%, refer to the figure below.

1.3 Purpose of Proposal

Careglove is suggested to ongoing expansion by launch a new nitrile glove manufacturing plant.
From the previous project, installation of nitrile gloves manufacturing plant, the production capacity
has been sharply increase after Dec 15, commissioned date of the plant.

The new nitrile gloves manufacturing line will producing 10 million gloves per month. The new
production will implement automation technology which can reduce labor output yet productivity
remains high.
