Character
Old Major dreams of one day were
animals do not working for humans but
for themselves.
Snowball becomes leader once Old
Major has passed. He actually carries out
the plan and creates rules and order at
the animal farm.
Napoleon acted as snowballs vice
president. He wanted to be the president
therefore, he ran snowball out of animal
farm. When he came into power he
instantly began breaking rules and
changing them to cover himself.
Squealer is now the new vice president
of animal farm. He covers Napoleon’s
tail whenever he breaks a rule with lies.
He soothes everyone’s worries. This
prevents a rebellion against Napoleon.
Boxer was very proud of the praise and
results of his work.
Mollie was always very foolish. She
never really cared about anything that
was going on, she just did somethings
because she was told.
Mr. Fredrick comes to the animal farm to
take it by force.
Allegory
Old major represents Karl Marx with his
struggle in between classes and the
idealistic message he delivered before
his death.
Snowball represents Leon Trotsky with
his idea of spreading the rebellion all
over the world. He also was ran out of
the animal farm.
Napoleon represents Josef Stalin
because like him, he knows how to pull
strings to get what he wants, he has
tight control over the censorship over
the farm, and he lives the lavish life
while everyone else struggles.
Squealer represents propaganda by
using abused language and images to
keep the public calm. He represents
Vyachelsav Molotov by rounding up the
animals when they were to be executed.
Boxer represents Russian laborers. Like
them, he was a hard worker and very
friendly. He also brought Napoleon/ Josef
Stalin into power because he did not say
anything to oppose him.
Mollie represents Bourgeoisie which was
the middle class. Like the middle class,
Mollie left for a place that she could still
have the things she desired.
Mr. Fredrick represents Adolf Hitler
because he broke the agreement he had

because he creates order with rules
when the animal farm is born.

represents Napoleon because when he
comes into power he begins creating a
social class and breaking all of the rules.
Lies and Deceit represent Squealer
because he lies to the animals all of the
time to keep them under control.
Pride represents Boxer because he was
so proud of the results from his work
that he worked himself to death.
Foolish and Folly represents Mollie
because she isn’t active in anything. She
just lives in space and does her own
thing.
Violence represents Mr. Fredrick because
he uses violence in his attempt to
