C PROJECT INFORMATION
C(i) The project proposes a web-based and mobile application-based system named
FurnirBase in Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) focusing in furniture store. There are
existing systems of furniture inventory. This project will improve current system by adding some new
function. By adding new function, this will take the system into another level of millennium era.
The existing system may require certain task and process to be done manually and this will
affect the time consume for user. The application will help user to make the flow of FurnirBase run
smoothly.
Several problems identified with the current system are status for delivering furniture,
centralizing data and over-stock in shop. Furniture status is not update in real-time for the system. The
furniture conveyor still using manual-record to update the status of furniture and transfer manual-record
into inventory management system. By providing the qr-scanner function, the conveyor only need to
scan the code to update the status. There’re some furniture shop that have more than one branch. So, the
data is not well-centralized, if it still using manual-inventory style. With this system, the data will be
well-centralized because the system used will connected with one single-database. Lastly, over-ordered
stock in shop. With this system, retailer can order based-on customer demand.
