Note:
» Should the RTH sensor not be functional, due to a faulty cable or sensor, the SAM2 RMS03 system will indicate a Humidity
Sensor alarm.
» During a humidity sensor failure, as mentioned above, the SAM2 RMS03 assumes a high temperature condition
(failsafe)
Aircon Temperature
» AC1 Temperature Sensor (Indoor Sites Only)
» AC2 Temperature Sensor (Indoor Sites Only)
» AC3 Shelter Temperature Sensor
Humidity / Room Temperature sensor connects from RJ45 jack 6 bottom (6B)
- Brown pin (8) on RJ45
- Brown / White pin (7) on RJ45
Aircon and shelter temperature connects from RJ45 jack 7 top (7T) using pair 1
- Orange pin (2) on RJ45
- Orange / White pin (1) on RJ45
Note: A/C temperature sensors and shelter temperature sensor will be daisy chained from one to the other.
The A/C1-4 temperature sensors are used to monitor the air conditioner vent temperature of each air conditioner unit
respectively. The monitored vent temperatures are used to perform the following functions:
» Measure cooling capacity of active air conditioner unit
» Indicate a cooling fault based upon pre-defined operational period, versus measured temperature.
Air Conditioner Vent Temperature Sensor:
» The air conditioner vent temperature sensor is placed in the air conditioner vent section (portion where the cold air
blows out). Ensure it is adequately secured.
Smoke Sensor
Smoke Sensor connections: from I/O RJ45 ports back on Inala RMS Controller, connection 6 top is addressed to the smoke
sensor using Brown / Brown White Pair (7/8), connect to smoke detector across position 3 (Brown ) and 5 (Brown / white)

Refer to the following diagram to connect the SAM2RMS main controller to the 24/48Vdc supply from the station battery and
station ground
• DDP 1 – 400A Battery BCP (Battery Current probe) , monitoring the supply current and total load current , voltage off
the battery as well as temperature at that specific location
• DDP2 – 150A Solar 1 + 2, monitoring supply current from solar array 1 and 2, voltage, as well as temperature at the
specific location of the DDP.
• DDP3 – 150A Tenant 1, monitoring the load current of the tenant , voltage as well as temperature at the specific
location of the DDP
• DDP4 – 150A Tenant 2, monitoring the load current of the tenant, voltage as well as temperature at the specific
location of the DDP
DDP Connections: locate the 4 way connector on back of RMS unit (Green connectors) above LAN outs, starting from the
right hand side, second connector is allocated to DDP
Test Bench Assembly and procedure for DDP (DC Current probe) addressing
Flex Enclosure production will setup a test bench to cater for the following:
DDP (DC Probe) software addressing, the bench will have pre-allocated positions for CT 1 – 4
• Each CT needs to be labelled after address allocation, important note is that the CT’s are paired together and should not split
• Estimated time per unit 5min
Software
Software App Module CT description Address
CT 3 – 150A tenant 1 13
Procedure
CT 4 – 150A tenant 2 14 • Connect USB – USB B to stationed laptop PC
• Identify the com port allocated
Hybrid Energy
Once powered, the EMU power/communications LED should flash each time interrogated by the SAM2 RMS03
controller, indicating communications.
» Once communications are established with the SAM2 RMS03 controller, use the ECT terminal software to verify
that the CT’s indicates a load current reading (on a per tenant basis) and AC mains supply within range.
» Fault finding:
• Should no load current values be displayed, refer to CT sensor cable harness connections.
• Confirm AC mains voltage on all phases.
• If no communications established with SAM2 RMS03 controller confirm serial connection cable wired polarities
Method of operation
The RMS unit will force the generator panel into auto mode via the reset command which will active 2 seconds before the start
pulse, the RMS unit is switching 12Vdc through to power on the relays 2K1 and 2K2 which will switch the panel to auto mode
and initiate a start solenoid to engage.
In order for the relays 2K1 and 2K2 to activate, a ground connection must be connected to the relay coil, therefore loop a wire
from –Ve to terminal position 301.
During Automode the RMS has complete control over the generator and no external signals will be able to change it out of this
mode Ensure that the generator start pulse is set to 120 seconds (2min), which will also result in the generator cool down
period being 120 seconds (2min)

The ECS2 communications controller is used to provide communications to the network management system, in the form of
GSM, Ethernet or E1 as well as pass through communications to various secondary devices on site.
The ECS2 powerful ARM9 processor, with optional SD memory card, is responsible for alarm logging and statistical data
management, especially in off-line mode as well as pass through port management (connectivity to site devices from
management platform).

Laptop with Microsoft OS
USB – USB B Printer cable
Digital Multimeter with DC amp measurement capabilities
2 x Sim Cards
SAM2_ECS
Using the PAC document to note the results herewith are the commissioning steps of the ECS controller
1. Connect to the ECS2 Controller using the USB – USB B Printer cable
2. Open the ECS2 Application
3. Ensure the version 1.98 is utilized
4. Select USB next to the unit IP address which will default to 192.168.11.1 when USB is selected
5. Once the Login Icon is highlighted select it
6. Once connected the screen view will automatically redirect the user to the configuration tab
7.
Please wait for upgrade to complete the application will automatically reboot , the entire process takes approximitly
2min to complete
8. Select config file ECS2 Config 1.98
9. Included in the upgrade is the default config which will automatically load all settings for the IHS – Nigeria deployment
Settings include

Communication
Verifying the communication is of outmost importance, herewith the steps that follow
1. Ensure both sims are slotted into the sim holders located on the ECS2 Controller
2. Sim 1 will try and establish communication, please be patient as the IP addressing might take a few minutes, the status
bar on the bottom of the ECS application will provide you detail in which phase it is.
Sim 1 - Retries x / 5 the system attempts 5 times to connect to the network, if it succeeds the IP
address will be shown in the highlighted area below
If the SIM fails to detect network it will switch over to the secondary sim repeating the process , this
can take up to 5 min , again please review the status at the bottom of the application
If both Sims have gone through its routine and unable to connect, remove the sim cards and place it
into a smart / android phone and see if network is available.
3. Once an IP is available note it down in the PAC documentation

shown in pictures below
Step 2. Connect USB cable from ECT to Laptop and go to My computer or this PC.
Step 3. Now right click and select “Manage”. From the next window that will open go to device manager. In device manager
check the USB port no. i.e. USB8 in the pic. For example. It can be from 1-16 as per your PC detail. Remember this port and
close the windows.
Step 4. Open the SAM2V3_ECT application by double click on the icon. Select the port as identified in above process. Enter
the password as admin and click ok button.
Select the config. File named “Sam2 FC 0008” and select Ok button to proceed. Once complete the loading click on the
“update SAM”.
You will see the Site ID changed to FC 0008 now change it to the site id of the current site. Click the button sync time and
then update. After that click the Set config button.
Step 6. Now go to Generator config. Double click on the rectangular position. you will see the set button appear and you can
change the run hours. Feed the actual dg run hours as per the DG display and press set button. And then click on the Set
config.
DPP view window. Click on the front panel and then go back to DPP window. This window will show you the load current
values as shown in the pic. Measure the actual value by multi meter and compare the value displayed. If issue contact Inala
supervisor.
1. Open internet explorer or firefox web and in the search bar insert the IP 192.168.0.120
6. Record Policy
